Back in the day rave sets/albums were usually vinyl or tape & sold in underground record shops, I remember this being sold in Woolworths on CD, back then i was like wtf!!! I have it on tape vinyl & CD still one of my favorite albums 25yrs on :)
Forze I can't even remember where I got it on tape, I was like, 13! I made a point of buying it direct from their website on cd a few years ago. I was buzzin when it arrived. Brought a tear to my eye! 😭
Yes I remember this era, Our Price had only just launched a 'dance music' section - they were too nervous to call it rave. Very limited choices, it was this, and if you were lucky Kaos Theory compilations and a few things on XL recordings.
I was 13 or 14 when I bought this on tape one Saturday in Falkirk inshops. I put it in my personal stereo and found what I'd been looking for......rave daze were here!!!
I had the VHS tape of this rave, it got ‘ vanished ‘ during life , moving house etc. To listen to it again in the dark through headphones... shit , really touched me, brought back so many great memories, great days , when I wasn’t walking around on crutches, needing spinal surgery. Was emotional, thank you 🙏
Ah yes I remember the rave vid too... My mate Steve Rajewski had it at his house . We used to play it and party there when his mum was out at pub. We were 13/14. Good times man!!!!
Used to blare this out of the then boyfriends Vauxhall Cavalier back in the day! Still have this on cd somewhere. Currently blasting it out in the kitchen dancing with my toddler. ❤️
@@MrRobertFarr It means too loud. The highest peaks of the audio clips are squished down and then the audio is turned up so even the quiet parts are loud.
@@nikharrison That's interesting ! I heard the phrase : 'Compression on the microphone ' before. I wonder how that is achieved during a live performance as potentially, the vocalist could scream really loud and damage folks ears . When , I was recording some music, I used to sit in front of volume indicator lights , unfortunately my Tascam Portastudio. 4 track device wire out though.
@@russelledwards001You couldn't expect much better when people were banging out tunes on a dodgy old amstrad computer in their bedrooms. It was part of the charm. Some of my favourite old tunes do sound very tinny or distorted though. The production quality on this album is actually very good for 1992.
I was 12 years old when this shit happened. I wish I was old enough to go and have probably one of the best experiences of my young adult life. I got a taste of the Rave seen when it was dying off, that was something special for me, I can only imagine just how amazing it would of been when it was brand new and the whole country was doing it. Wonderful!

Well they might of named the tracks but chances are they were off their NUT 🥜 seeing as the times for each track are way off the point. I know they’re the length of tune but you know what i mean😂 FairPlay tho 👍🏼
I bought this in Plymouth when I was about 14, big trip up with my mate to spend birthday money, clear memory playing this through headphones sitting on the train home destroying my eardrums hearing proper rave tunes for the first time, the warhammer space marines I'd bought lost their entire value, life changed, you can guess the rest.

Amazing times these are definitely some of the best ever tracks love the remix of meat is murder by the smiths in there (the whale noises) I have this on video and still makes me well up remembering better times what I wouldn’t do to go back there everyone was happy and we all had nothing😊 shout out to everyone who’s hairs stand up listening to this and remember 😊peace and love ❤
I had (still have) the cassette and VHS (live footage from The Showcase) of this in '92 as a 12 year old, and they ended around the 45 min mark of this vid. Hardly any of the album is my style (pretty much just Worldwide Epidemic (i.e. a pandemic, lolz)) and yet I loved and love every song. Even today, a tear comes to my listening to this. Every song on Side 2 sounds like a perfect album closer song, but then they come one after the other, making the whole side the perfect closer.
I remember banging this on vinyl on my older cousins decks and I couldn't stop listening to it. Id say this got me into the rest of the UK scene music but never forgot the roots of where it all started
This was brought out in connection with The Showcase in Bath, 27/11/92 as most of the tracks were played or PA’s performed them..... what a great night it was and my fourth Fantazia event, all awesome and the China Whites helped a lot...... had been part of the scene religiously every weekend since mid 1988...... within a year of this event the scene had become fragmented and full of plastic ravers and rip off artists..... Peace. Love. Unity. Respect was the ethos that the movement was based upon and not to mention the extortionate price of a night out compared to the free parties of the early days !!! 👌👌👌🐝💤🐝💤🐝💤🌈😎

What you say is right, I felt exactly the same, this was right at the end of the scene as it was. It went commercial soon after. When people were raving on 'Hitman and Her', the game was well and truly up.

I’m in the red puffer waistcoat with a ponytail but you can see me in the other event footage..... we were living the best year of my life in 92 but the scene became everything it shouldn’t have been and what it was not meant to be about..... saw my first rave fight and another friend robbed of a bag of pills by a Rasta in a long raincoat with a machete..... inside the NYD 1993 event at Obsession in Wormelowe (1/1/93) and knew then that it was a downward spiral from there on in ..... and we had such high hopes for a better world with rich and poor, black and white of all classes as one in a rush of peace love unity and most of all mutual respect ✌️✌️✌️🌈🌈🌈🤪😜😛😝🤩😎

oh wow passed the whole thing through a filter to kill the timbre and bass and make the highs tinny. it's one knob on a typical deck ... or even synth... very common ...
As I was 12 years old when this music entered my head with the prodigy first ever sound that I grew up from. Out of space being the first.. I’ve not ever looked back. Such feeling and passion in the music back then. I still live in that era today. Best time zone to be in. ✌🏼🫶🏼

I used to collect fliers and this was one of my first. I only took a4 or bigger. My room celling were covered. Would drive landlords nuts lol. I had it on a tape someone gave me in 1993 and listened to it for years without knowing what the album was. The tape just had 'rave mix' or something written on it. Still loving it, some classic tunes on it.
Ime 47 and STILL listen to stuff like this, i love the rave genre, had some really memorable times. But fantazia is number one for definite for me, it got me into it by buying fantazia dj ratty on tape from the market, fell in love with it from then on
