Great review. I own the ux2 ux3 and now the helios 2 and you can really see with every release how much they improved as a brand. Im not sure if you know but this is an exact 1:1 clone of the zowie s2. I agree about the stock skates being horse. Luckely they are identical in size to the Zowie S2 aftermarket skates. The burned plastic thing is something i've never seen before, but completely unacceptable, what the hell? I own 2 Non pro versions and both have rocksolid qc and the best optical implementation of my collection. Crispy and spamable, heck i'll go as far as saying these are probably the best clicks from all the mice in my entire collection. Have to also give them props for making a scroll that doesnt get stuck in between steps. They definetly did not make this mouse to be used wired, clearly it was a mere afterthought. If i could give you 1 piece of advice , i think if i take a shot everytime you say H2PS , i might die on the spot. Please dont do this its very annoying. You might have said it over 100 times 😂😂
I didn't even know the shape was so similar to the S2-C! I've never used the shape myself so I didn't see the comparison haha. But overall it's a great mouse, I'm very excited to see what else FANTECH cooks up in the future!
Just wanted to throw out that it has a similar shape to a keychron m3 mini. The main difference: there is no rough thumb plastic (m3 has it), helios scroll wheel is a little more forward, on the m3 the buttons overhang. Those are the only shape differences.
i always had issues with mice flaring out in the front. they tend to hurt my ringfinger(19x10cm), but after watching this i think it may be due to the angle of the sides instead of being flat like an op1. i initially bought it just to see what the hype is about and thought I'll main the sora, but it has not left my desk since then. gotta blame you that i play with a wired mouse in 2024😂
Thanks for the review! Did you find any trouble using the X2H stock wire with Helios 2 Pro S' 8K wired performance? I imagine Pulsar's X2H stock cable might struggle with transmitting 8K polling without sufficient shielding, which could explain why the Fantech's stock wire is stiffer and thicker. However, Fantech probably could've made the stock cable's USB tilted, so it had room to be better like you mentioned in the review. Anyways, would you mind testing for polling stability on 8K wired polling with Pulsar's X2H stock cable or other cables from common mice/brands, maybe like the wire that comes with recent Razer mice? How does Fantech's stock cable compares to other 8K wired mice like OP18k and the Pulsefire Haste 2 wired? It's tough, I don't believe a lot of companies provide a paracorded, flexible cable if the mouse is wireless these days. Razer's wire with V3 Pro might be good enough, but we've been seeing some companies including rubber cables again if their wireless mouse can run 8K polling for better stability. So comparing what USB-C wireless cables are available to the dedicated wired 8K polling mice might be interesting or insightful for future viewers if they're a bit conscious about using a stiff wire (and how it performs in a bungie as well). Hey! So the pulsar stock was fine for 1k - 4k, had no issues. I did have issues with 8k but this was due to the age of my system than the X2H's stock cable. For the comparison the the OP1 8k's cable is about half as thick, more flexible and a similar paracord wrapping. Pretty much the same story on the Haste 2 but with a little more flexibility.
Great review as always. Question, have you been able to get the 4k dongle to show battery life? I got mine yesterday, and the software says you can, but I haven't been able to do it
Hey! I actually didn't know the dongle could show the battery life. I don't remember seeing that mentioned in the software or the user manual. Maybe it was just updated recently and I missed it?
@@mel0nFPS maybe? But I haven't gotten it to work 😅 I got excited when I saw it on the software, because I've only ever seen it implemented on FinalMouse and Razer mice, but when I tried it, it didn't work
@@YameSten FANTECH might be adding the feature down the line, I know there are several additional features being added to the mouse, this is probably one of them and they accidentally showed the option in the software.
on their previos version "fantech helios ii pro xd3v3" they had usb for 2.4ghz now ive got the new one and there is only 4k pooling rate adapter how u use it at 2.4 ghz or with the cable
You can configure the polling rate via the software, wireless/wired can be used anywhere between 152hz and 8k hz. Software is on this page, it's the very first option: fantechworld.com/pages/download-mice
can i ask why is your version has black scrollwheel and side buttons, whereas on fantech site its white and yellow? also, do you know if there any difference between fantech and teevolution versions of this mouse? why would they even make the same mouse under different companies? also, i wonder why wired 8k polling rate is not mentioned on their website, because, as you mentioned, it puts them apart from other “high-perfomance” mice. thank you for your reviews, i’m now thinking of buying op1 8k or helios 2 pro
Hey! The mouse with the yellow buttons is the older version the HELIOSⅡPRO XD3V3, whereas the one I covered in this video is the Helios 2 Pro S. Not gonna lie I didn't even know Teevolution was a brand. Likely the AREA and HELIOS models are OGM shells that a factory produces that you can assign your own branding on. That or teevolution is a subsidiary of FANTECH, not sure honestly. The reason the 8K polling isn't mentioned on the older Helios models is that they don't support it. Currently, the H2PS is the only FANTECH Mouse that supports 8k. If you're deciding between the OP1 8K and the H2PS, I'd still probably say the OP1 8K is the better mouse as there hasn't been a mouse that'd released this year that comes close to the OP1. Don't get me wrong the polling implementation here on the H2PS is still great, but the OP1 8K is better though. Hope that answers your questions, if you have any other questions let me know!

And the teevolution assigning their branding on OGM shell makes sense, i myself have a keyboard that was made from OEM version of this board and has 2 other copies from different companies. would you say this is a gpx with a wider hump? i'm one of the few gpx lovers looking for something more opinionated. how is the side curvature compared to the hts plus?
Hey! the GPX is still pretty different from the H2PS, the hump here terminates farther back in the shell and the overall top-shell is shorter than it was on the GPX, also thinner. HTS is kinda similar but again the hump terminates farther back in the shell than it does on the HTS+ and the rear hump is narrower than the wider hump on the H2PS. Hope that helps!
i see, thanks for your response! your reviews have been my go to. keep up the good work $2000 into this hobby and im still using the gpx 😂. the egg just makes the mouse so easy to maneuver. h2ps still sounds promising after that description i'll give it a shot
I haven't gotten my hands on any of Darmoshark's products yet, I'd like too at some point but I have no idea when I'd be able to potentially get my hands on them.
