Q. Are there treatments available for patients with Female Pattern Hairloss?

One of the things I hear a lot from patients is, "I assume there's no treatment possible. And I expect that this would be a progressive loss of hair over time." And what we've seen over the last number of years is a number of treatments have emerged that have been able to stabilize that progression and even see improvements in that. And that's a lovely thing to see. I have a lot of patients who come in and they say to me the first time they see me, "My expectation is is that at best, this won't get any worse." And what's lovely to show them the sequential photos over time where they see a progressive improvement in their hair density. And one of the nicest things you can hear is a patient come in and say, "This is something that has always been on my mind. Treatment has allowed me to put that into the back of my head. It no longer takes up the brain space that was there. And the fear that I have of losing my identity as my hair disappears further."
