⚠️For clarity + more info regarding loadshedding/ backups I forgot to mention: ☑️ If you have fibre- (cost friendly option) Get a UPS to keep your router (NOT YOUR LAPTOP) powered up so that you have good network coverage even during loadshedding. ☑️ If you have fibre- (slightly pricey but super helpful) Get an inverter + batteries. This will keep your router, laptop, lights, .. etc. powered up for the duration of loadshedding. ☑️ If there is no fibre in your area, try installing a fixed ADSL line. This is more reliable than WiFi ☑️ If you only have WiFi- Please DO NOT TEACH ONLINE during loadshedding! Try your best to plan your lessons around your loadshedding schedule. The network coverage is unreliable during loadshedding. 🎧 Headsets: www.makro.co.za/electronics-computers/computers-tablets/computer-tablet-accessories/cables/logitech-digital-stereo-headset-h340-/p/000000000000391419_EA?gclid=CjwKCAiAz4b_BRBbEiwA5XlVVrM37n8kthXkjG3pLB3QhAelPBbO7ljL8m2LPDpEfmCl0XbLVxobrRoC9LAQAvD_BwE 🔌 Laptop Power bank: www.geewiz.co.za/ups/126773-rechargeable-li-ion-battery-with-usb-c-22400mah-backup-battery-power-bank-8288wh-24195v-for-laptop-notebook-smartphone-camera.html
Hey Az. Thanks for all the info. Just wanted to find out , it seems there is a difference between the video you send when you initially apply and the video you use on your profile because of course one is for potential students and one is for recruiters. Do companies usually ask you for a different video for your profile or do you use the one you sent during the application?
Hello, Yonela! Great question! Most times (in my experience) the video I submit during my application process is used on my teacher profile. So make sure your initial video is second to none and full of energy. The recruiter, students and parents must be intrigued by it. There are some platforms that request a new video, or you can change your video on your profile if you wish- but not all the time. So rather be safe and make that first video THEE video
Hi Patience. I'm assuming that you don't have fibre in your area. Have you tried doing a speed test with every network provider? If they're all bad, and you don't have fibre, look into getting a fixed ADSL line. This is actually more reliable than WiFi. WiFi is generally not a good option, unless you are using it in case of emergency. All the best 🎈
