Japanese loves to abuse Hyde's assist in neutral. Going to fullscreen, tap 6P then cross combo into spam 6P. It's so good cause Hyde's 6P eats a lot of other projectiles.

Hyde pretty much has all tools for any situation. doesn't matter who his opponent is Not to mention being one of the most beginner friendly characters helps

Regardless of whether Hyde was low tier or high tier, I'd always have him as my main fighter, back in Under Night and now Cross Tag.

I want to add that another big reason is that he can reverse beat pressure into 2A to bait pushblocks. His normals do good chip damage and that makes his pressure even better since he doesn't even have to go for mixup and can threaten you with reverse beat pressure while whittling you away with giant normals.

Hey Koefficient! Fellow Utah player here, what are your thoughts on Orie/Hyde as a main team? My 100% main is Orie, her reverse beat and combos feel so natural to me, but I'm struggling to find a solid fit as her partner. Ruby, Hyde, and Vatista have been my best fits so far, Ruby being the best in terms of naturally clicking with Orie, but I'm really looking towards Hyde after seeing this. Thoughts?

I think what make Hyde good is his range is too good like how his air B is a crescent slash that can cross up behind him and his attacks are quick especially his air C that can follow with another afterwards and cause good damage to the point of his normals also chipping those who are blocking. In addition his movelist is very flexible with a solid reversal, different options when using his projectile, and his other anti-air. I point out his movelist is flexible as it help set assists for longer combos. For example with Hyde and Orie during Hyde's anti air (214+A or B) use 4+P to use Orie's back assist which is a Force field from Thanatos which multi-hit both ground and Airborne opponents.

I'd say Hyde has one of the best assists for countering Bursts too. His neutral assist gives you forever to tech and catch them with a combo after they burst.

As a person who started playing 3 months ago, I am so damn happy to main Hyde.

He also doesn't need to do any mix ups for damage, the opponent has to respect his chip and be on point when he's resetting his pressure with rebeat, and even then some characters can't challenge his 5B range at max range.

He's missing about 1/3 of his moves from his original game here. So you can imagine what a beast he was in Under Night.

His j.B was originally j.2C only in UNIST 3.00, and it launched a small bit on hit. Hyde's standing stab is indeed originally his 5A. Also, her name is "Lii-neh"

Any team combination of Hyde, Narukami, Jin and Ruby has verrrrry few actual bad matchups or weaknesses to exploit. Ragna is close too, but his lack of full screen options is a bit of a bummer.

I mean naoto can basically do the same thing but different? I guess I’m not an experienced player to know the truth ironic cuz this is naoto

See, I made it my job to play Under Night before this game. And he was god-like to control and he's my new favourite fighting game character ever. Although, he controled way better in Under Night, but that's because this game's style of play is wonky to me.

All of Hyde's combo enders leave him in a very advantageous position for neutral. Not to mention he has the ability to very easily set up his own unlockables.

I can understand why Hyde is a great character but what I don't understand is why Narukami is also a great character especially in Kubo's Tier list.

Why do Japanese players have an entirely different tier list

Hyde...Jack of all damn trades. Second to Narukami Yu. But most of the people I played usually do Autos with Hyde. It's rare to find a person that uses general combos. Mainly because actual combos don't deal that much.

I have to disagree. His 2b isnt any better than Narukami's. Infact its worse in my opinion because more often than not in the heat of the battle people just jump over hyde and the hitbox of 2b is mostly front of him, so he gets blown up in alot of scrambles. The hitbox isnt as good as you think it is. You are FAR better off anti airing on reaction with his reversal, but any character can do that. Also his damage is booty butt compared to other characters when he is by himself. Mostly its his solo damage holding him back.

I've been using Hyde since day 1 and I feel like the only person in the BBTAG community to disagree with his tier placements. He's solid at best, but *nothing* compared to monsters like Yu, Jin, Es, and Ruby. He lacks their *UNGA* toolkits, and everything he does, they do better. Hell, his chip pressure sounds good on paper until you pushblock and punish him to death, to the point it's crippling overspecialization. Fighting Es is waaay different fighting Hyde. This is like putting Little Mac in the same ballpark as Diddy Kong in Smash. Little Mac has his ups, sure, but Diddy's utilities are in a whole other league that makes him comparatively worse to combat in general matchups. If you manage to get a combo with him, you do so little damage anyway that all the high execution stuff with him becomes a case of "Awesome, but Impractical." I fear he'll get nerfs because people don't know how to deal with him (never mind the exaggerations of the range of his normals). It's gonna be Brawl!Ike all over again where he's highly regarded by everyone early before people understand that his flaws out-weight his quirks.
