Hi Ola, it's hard to catch your attention to be in your FAQ, but given the number of subscribers it's normal ... but can we buy a bridge pickup identical to those of your Solar guitars, because I Ihave a guitar that I hold a lot (a gift from my father... RIP ) and I would like to put this pickup on it because it sound terribly good! I can not find it anywhere, because I'm looking for a new one or second hand. How can I do it? thanks ,take care.

Hey Ola Just wanted to say thank you. The passed two weeks have been a little rough because my wife has been in the hospital due to her illness. Ive been watching/rewatching your previous FAQ videos with her and it’s been cheering her up because of your comedic moments. The last few times I’ve visited her, she has said “hey let’s watch that funny guitar guy”. You’re the best dude. Thanks for cheering her up and getting her to smile. Best regards!

As far as Bugera amps, I bought a Bugera 1990 back in 2010. It came biased from the factory EXTREMELY HOT (like almost double what it was supposed to be), but once I fixed that it sounded killer. I still have it and play it. I take it to practice and gigs. Great amp in my opinion. However, a LOT of people have had bad Bugera amps. I think a lot of it is because since they are so cheap, they tend to be the first tube amps for a lot of people. Once someone drops a couple of grand for a Mesa or Marshall they are more experienced with tube amps and take extra special care of them. But mine is a great amp.

I think the set of 7 strings question meant putting on the heavier 6 strings on a solar, which is unnecessary since .13-.56 6 string sets are a thing for B Standard or Drop A, I use the D'Addario NYXL or XL because the 3rd string is wound, ernie balls and ghs have an unwound 3rd that leads to tuning instability
@MrGrowleyP
@MrGrowleyP 6 лет назад
I think it was about the gauge, using a 0.07 set.

@@MrGrowleyP went back and rewatched that bit, the guy worded it as "a set of 7 String, strings on a solar" so I'm p sure it's indeed talking about using the heavier 6 strings
@bryand.5240
@bryand.5240 6 лет назад
@@hansgrueber8169 12 -60 gives you some wonky string tension unless you use only drop A#, 13-56 with a wound 3rd gives you the same stingy tension as 9-42 tuned to E standard, 12-60 is pretty much a drop A# only set of strings, the higher 5 strings would get you the same tension as 9's tuned to E standard and the low e would get you the same tension as a 42 tuned to D, tuning up would mean an extremely tight low string with normal higher strings, or tuning down the higher strings to standard with the low would mean a normal feeling and sounding low string with floppy higher strings Both of which lead to messy muddy tone so ye it's p much a drop A# only set

Two comments - love the riff of the week. Spent a bunch of time learning the Slayer riff, it's a really good technical exercise. Second comment - one week in to being a $5 member and holy shit I can't believe how much stuff you have that's member only. I donate to four or five other RU-vidrs via patreon and for almost all of them it's just either early access or tabs. Big swing. The content you give to members is so much more worth the $5 than what anyone else does. Cheers from Florida.

I guessed you were gonna play Erotomania as the DT riff of the day. It is what I would have played... Really appreciate what you're doing and while I'm not where you are right now I did at one point live, breathe, and eat metal guitar. So much that I with a band released a fellow Swedish death-metal album 10 years ago. It's on youtube too but it's not that interesting. (If you do despite my warning want to check it out... We were called Son of Earth and released on Embrace My Funeral Records) While I'm not where you are with guitar right now, I went into exploring fusion and stuff when we disbanded, I sincere enjoy you taking me back to those days where I practiced metal guitar like it was my one true love. And in some ways it really was, but I think fusion and video-game music is where I'll end up. Thank you Ola

For the typical youTube or bedroom guitarist who wants a variety of amplifiers too use i think the Bugera amps are very good for the price. Now, if you plan too have or do have a heavy touring schedule , then i do not know how well they hold up but i believe most of the issues that the early models had has been addressed and fixed. So if i needed an amp like this I would certainly buy one. From all the tests and reviews i have seen they do sound really quite good.

No idea if it got improved, but the valve sockets on the older Bugera amps should have better grip, valves tend to lossen when it gets moved around. A plus is that the Infinium tech makes it really easy and cheap to switch to another set of tubes.

I'm going to chime in on the Bugera question. I picked up a Tri-Rec for a solid price ($600 CAD) while my wife and I were in Montreal. Everything was great for the first few days after we got back in Toronto until the output transformer blew up. I called Care Music Group and they had me take the amp to a repair person not far from me. I waited almost 3 weeks with no movement on the repair so I called up Care Music Group again and they had said that it was really odd to be taking so long for the repair. They immediately sent a new head out to me. The rep also told me that I should register the serial number on their website as it would extend the warranty to 10 years. 10 years is a very long time to warranty a product which shows Bugera (or Behringer) has a lot of faith in their products. Tone-wise, it does sound amazing. I did more research and it seems like Bugera had a quality issue when the Infinium technology first rolled out but those issues seem to have become less and less common. With all that said, I may as well ask a question: What distribution channels have you set up to get Solar Guitars in stores, or are you going to stick with a "factory-direct" sales model?

Some guitarists like to use a 7 string set on their 6 string guitars for alternate tunings and/or to have higher string tension. A good example of a band that does this is Wage War. The last time I saw them they used a 7 string set on 6-string Fender Jazzmaster guitars, and tuned down to drop G, with an .80 gauge string on the low G to compensate. It creates an awesome thick low end with a lot of clarity. Check out their song "The River" for an awesome example of this particular tone! Maybe you could do a video on this type of experiment in the future? I bet the Solar 2.6 A would sound AWESOME with a set like that.

Peace Ola! Could you please do a video on how you get your IRs of your cabinets done yourself? That would be awesome. There’s a lack of good videos on the whole process on RU-vid. Please fill it! 😃🤯

Hi Ola, I've seen some of your videos before, but never really paid much attention. Then I've started watching you FAQ's videos and I fell in love with your style, your spontaneity, your silliness, sarcasm, honesty and candor (expecially the censored burps, they make me smile every time). I've recently been under hearth surgery because of a rare syndrome and YOU have made my time at the hospital much more fun, so I just wanted to thank you for what you do, and please keep doing it cause I'm still at the hospital :D Oh btw, Solar guitars are sexy as hell, I might buy one even if I don't really play metal anymore. I know this wasn't a question, but rather a freaking long statement, but hey, what can you do... :D thanks again. Cheers from Italy, hope the best for you.

Admittedly, I'd probably avoid the Bugeras. They're less than reliable IME and the autobias thing they have is failure prone (which can take out transformers too).

Hi Ola, I wanted to ask you if you can show us or make a short demo of the A1.6 at the gates signature model. Thank you and keep making awesome music, guitars and videos !

Love the videos and your doing great with your channel. With the people complaining about the reverse head stocks. Have you thought of putting the lefty necks on the right hands and the righty on the left handed one to please them?

Hello Mr. OLA! I wanted to ask. Have you thought about making a video or a small but detailed course on metal production? Record + processing + mastering. Or the creation and processing of a track or a separate part from the beginning to the mastering stage. I think the video will be very popular. Thank you.
