May mga agency sa Vietnam na naghahanap ng 1-5 years experience as ESL Teacher, aside from the other requirements you mentioned tapos $900/month lang magpasahod. Nanghihingi din ng $700 para sa Business Visa approval.
When a job posting is hourly pay and says say 20 teaching hours a week on average are you only paid for those hours or the full 8-9 hours your actually there at the school?
Hi! Thanks for sharing all the info. I need a clarification regarding the C1 certificate. Should we have the certificate in core skills only or the other two skills also(ie. speaking and writing)? Which one is need only the core skills or all the three skills given in the Biritsh Council app? Please enlighten me.
Very informative Nimpha! I apologize on your name spelling if I have it incorrect. For a licensed Filipino teacher trying to get her first EFL Teachers job in Vietnam, is it best to work all of the top Int’l schools and all the FB job posting groups from the Philippines to secure the job via email and messenger, or is there an advantage to travel on a tourist visa to personally inquire? Concerns are, Tourists Visas don’t allow enough time to consider all the schools in 2-3 cities, but also off-loading Philippine immigration screening these days. Your thoughts on both considerations would be appreciated, how did you acquire your first employment as a EFL teacher? Did you get your first employment when you were still in the Philippines? Thank you.
Sorry for the late reply. Yep, it's better, not to mention 'legal', to have the proper documentation upon entering or leaving your country. Although there's really an advantage if you apply in person, it is also possible to get hired first before leaving your home country so you can obtain the necessary papers.
I am a social science teacher my subject is Geography and my qualification M.A. B. Ed. D. El. Ed. I have interested to teach of your school .plz reply to me your own opnion
I worked in an English center so they may require English teaching related degree, but your qualifications might fit in an international school where a mainstream curriculum is used.
Hello mam, I graduated from a 2-year college (Associate in Computer Technology). I have C1 and Tesol already. I am already here in Vietnam and am still waiting for my work permit to be approved. I am already exhausted because they might not approve it because I only have a 2-year college diploma. Please enlighten me! :(
If your work permit is not approved you then have to do visa run and keep looking for schools and centers that will help you for work permit. You will have more chance to be hired if you look for jobs in smaller cities to gain experience.
As far as I know, it's really hard to apply for the work permit without the sponsor. People usually apply the work permit after they already got the job. The reputation of the company will decide if your work permit is validated soon or late.
I'm not sure whether you can be qualified without a bachelor's degree. As far as I know, one of the requirements for a teacher's work visa is your college/university diploma. Better yet consult an agent or a professional.
