Hi everyone,
Here is a video showing the outcome of the Ubisoft 1.4.0 patch for Far Cry 4.
I can now climb and descend ropes using remapped keys - Here is the link to the Ubi forum:

I was also able to do a slight tweak on my video settings and am able to get pretty decent frame rate and texturing.

How do you guys feel about the game? I personally like it! This and dragon age will definitely be taking over gaming life for the near future!
I also appreciate that Ubi was able to respond with some fixes - although there is still some issues with a PC game being released and not checking the key bindings - Not all people have full motor control of their hands and often times need a custom key map to enjoy the game properly - so for that Ubi a bit of shame, but I am glad the game seems to be operational for myself right now.

Hey man, so I'm in the GTX690 club (we're a small group apparently) and I just wanted to let you know I'm having a much better time with the 1.5 patch. Actually, I would consider the game "fixed" enough, at least for me. I'm rocking good specs (nothing crazy, but decent: GTX690 / 16 Gb DDR3 / i54570 / SSD) and all of the stuttering and hitching this game did before is nearly gone. I see in your video you aren't playing with everything on ULTRA, is there a reason you aren't? With my setup I am indeed able to keep framerates between 50-60fps on ULTRA... but again, this is ONLY because of the 1.5 patch. Have you had better luck like I have with the latest patch?

You cant play the game on ULTRA with an 690 and say the game already fixed?! Nvidia loves persons like you! -1

They do sadly..... But i am disappointed at the fact you state and I do firmly believe that the game should run MAX on the 690.... Ubi seems to like me as well I guess.

I have my 690 sitting unused as I upgraded to a 980 and this game is poorly optimised. I can run on all settings on ultra but at certain points it will drop to 50fps and there is nothing I can do to increase the frame rate. It looks like a CPU bottleneck seeing as changing graphics settings makes no difference but my I7 2600 @ 3.8ghz really shouldn't be bottlenecking this game. I had the exact same dips in FarCry3 as well where it would run at 60fps maxed out for most of the game but certain little villages would bring the frame rate down. I think that is a bottleneck inside the Dunia2 engine more than the fact 2600 CPU isn't enough to run it as that CPU is still very powerful to this day and was top of the line best you could get when FarCry3 launched. I am not upgrading my CPU just yet as I believe the problem lies with how shit Ubisoft are as developers, their quality control isn't there. So can you tell me just so I know what kind of performance you get with all settings on ultra just so I know what kind of performance gains I got from replacing the 690?.

***** That is a nice PC tower you have there, mine is just black metal with two cooling fans on the side with red lights. I was going to wait until Pascal before I bought a new GPU but I was feeling depressed and happen to have a little spare cash at the moment so I decided to get the 980. If I had other more important things needing paid off then I wouldn't have bought the 980. Out of all the consoles it's the WiiU that I am enjoying the most right now. It may not get strong third party support but it makes up for it with lots of great exclusives. I am currently enjoying Bayonetta 1+2, Mario 3D World and The Wonderful 101 on WiiU. I am going to be picking up Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart8 , Captain Toad and Smash Bros in a few weeks time. The XB1 right now only has a few exclusive games but there is some games in the future that I am looking forward to on the platform. I have been playing Forza Horizon2 on XB1 which is a decent game. The CPU's in the consoles are really quite underpowered as the Jaguar architecture was designed for low power devices like tablets and netbooks, however they do punch above their weight due to the fact developers can code games to the metal and optimise around their particular strengths and weaknesses. Console developers can also use the APU in novel ways to help with performance.

***** Also if you never owned a Wii then you should take advantage of Nintendo selling some of the best Wii games on the WiiU store in the next few weeks. Mario Galaxy2 is already up on the WiiU store and is selling for £8.99 for the first week and then the price goes up to £17.99. Then in a few weeks Pandora's Tower, Sin & Punishment and Metroid Prime Trilogy go on sale so you should look into buying these games as they are great. You should also look into buying them while they are on sale during the first week they go up on WiiU store.
