Skip the nonsense in the video: C:\Program Files(x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\. Close FC, open Uplay.exe, top left settings, disable cloud sync. Go to savegames in the same directory and all the way in till you see save files, copy all, put somewhere safe, delete the ones in the folder. Done.
Thank you, this is great, I can't stand a single save open world game haha. Love this game, really wish I could at -least- reassign perks for cash or whatever. But this'll do!
the only way for consoles is too move your save file to a USB or hard drive so that you can play a new game without losing your old save or create a 2nd account on your console.
Thanks for the tutorial, I just lost my game save last night, 11 hours of game time, finished John Seed location and was working on Faith’s location, liberated 4 outposts. Gonna start doing my saves like this, I did do save like this in Borderlands Series. Thanks again.
Not at all a stupid question, but as far as we have researched, no. This does not affect multiplayer at all. As it is offline. I see no reason why this would get you banned.
So what do you think is the best way to play Coop Campaign in this game? Should me and my friend play the game separately and progress that way, and maybe sometimes do Coop? Or maybe another way? Because when we played Coop, all of my progress did not save as I was a guest.
André Padua I believe that stuff is tied to your Uplay account, which is why this method won't get you banned for anything. This only affects single player
Hi there, could you be a bit more specific? When you open the savegames folder what folders did you see? Was the structure like the one shown in the video? If you already have a save going. I would move all the save files into a custom folder then start your new game. When you go to "load" a different save put the game save you want into the folder where the new game you started is located.
The White Collar Players Idk how to explain it. It's the folder with the random numbers and letters when you open "save files". Then you open that and get a bunch numbers that the folders are named. I just moved them all and it seems to have started a new game
Ok, so is that working for you now? When you go to load one of the others, put the old save in the place of the spot where the current game's files are
I am using my Friends steam and u play account in my computer , since i changed the settings not to synchronize to cloud in uplay, does that not affect him while he plays, what if his progress not get synchronized, please advise
his progress is saved on his computer and your progress on your's, no worries. If you were to turn on sync then it would cause problems because it would take your save and overwrite his through the cloud. leave sync off and all is well.
Do we know how the backed up save will be affected by game updates ide like to start a new game but i dont want to swap to my main save in a few weeks and find its been tanked and not useable by a patch
Spike Taylor That is a good point, no we have no way of predicting how updates will affect the save files. However there is no reason for us to suspect that updates would affect the save files themselves, so our guess is that they would be ok buy if that really worries you you might want to play it safe
wait, since you disabled save synching with the cloud on uplay, does that effect rainbow six siege? i play this oftenly with friends, so would i have to turn it back on when i play and then turn it off when im done just in case if something happens and i dont loose new progress? for example if i was to switch from starter edition to standard, which requires me to remove starter edition from my steam library and then buy standard on steam with my uplay and steam account linked.
Aquila of Death So sorry, but we dont play Rainbow Six Siege so we cant say for sure. Our advice would be to play it safe and turn it off and on as necessary.
The CPH Depends on when your pc crashes, but no probably not. If your pc crashes while playing the game, all of your other saves that you werent playing at the time will be fine. However, the one you were playing will be fine itll just be at the point of the last time you saved before the crash
my brother uses my steam account in a different country. If i do this I won't be overwriting his save, right? as long as synchronization is off, right?
If I enable cloud save syncronization in Uplay, but just for play Rainbow Six Siege, is that going to save also Far Cry 5 in the cloud (and failed your method) ? Thanks man
I dont believe so, as long as you never launch FC5 while it is enabled, if you do then yes it will cause issues. But if you remember to disable every time you play FC5 I would imagine it would be ok. But you also shouldnt need cloud saves for Rainbow Six Siege as I understand it, but your call there
Yeah I just ruined my game. I had it beat and wasn’t done because I wanted to do 100% completion. But I tried new game plus, and lost my completed save file. I’m distraught right now.
Hi. great video but presumably this only works for one player/account? My friend and I have installed the game on my PC but in our own accounts Is it possible for us *BOTH* to be able to play having save facility but without interferring with each others installed game and, if so, can you kindly explain how please? I'm starting to find this SO frustrating not being able to save my own game but my friend can do it on her account on my PC just fine. Here's hoping. :P
Nick Jay Hi there! Depends on what you mean by account! The best way for you to have your own save game tied to your account is to each have your own Ubisoft account, while this only requires one install of the game, it does require two licenses, sp essentially you would have to buy the game twice. The other method would be to log in to her account, on your PC and her Ubisoft account or whichever ubisoft account has the game license and then use the method we have shown in the video. Hope that helps!
By account I mean we each have our own account with admin priviledges on my PC (Win7). She installed it on her account and can run it and save but when installed on *my* account, it plays but no saves. I've since set up 2 back up folders for the CPY_SAVES and using the back-up method. It's messy but it works. So thanks again. For now at least, until the price drops, we'll do it the way I've got it at the moment. I did look on UPlay but it's about £45 which, I'm sorry to say, is very expensive for 2 people not working so I'd *never* consider paying that much, although I suppose you could argue for all the time and work gone into it, it's probably worth the money.
Is there a way to get 100% saves without the Granite error? I've seen ways to decrypt save files and edit them. I have the official version, but I don't want to waste time with the story.
@@WhiteCollarGames Oh well. I have done a bit of searching and it means corrupted save file. It is not corrupted, but it will automatically detect it as corrupted if it is not you save file. The Uplay id is hardcoded into the save files.
Norman M. Henry Thats weird? Where are you seeing the error? Did you make sure to disable cloud sync first? And are you sure you are moving all of the save files into and out of the proper location?
Can anyone tell me is it possible for me to email these files to a friend so that they can continue from this spot in the game? I only ask as we have played the game co-op right from the start and he is unable to buy guns from the shops etc as story progress is on my end only and when he continues his game he is back on the starter island. I just want him to feel like progress is for both of us and not just me and he finds one ended progress very off putting! Thanks
Anthony McTaggart Interesting idea, I would imagine that should be possible, but of course it will be your character and your load outs and such. Also I have no idea what will happen if you both try to use the files simultaneously. You might try it just to see what happens. But keep a backup of the files in case anything goes wrong. It might be that he cant use your files because they are linked to the Uplay account
Cheers yeah that was my fear about the Uplay account. We haven't tried but we may try either later today or tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the video, it has now freed me up to play solo when he isn't free to play. Cheers :)
Hey just giving the update that I promised. We have just tried to emailing the save files to my mate but when he loaded the game he an error in the save files and was forced to start a new game. So unfortunately no success. Thanks for the video though as it really help me in being able to solo the game. Thanks :)
Thanks! Out of curiosity what was the error? What I am wondering is if your friend logged in with your uplay account and then tried to load if that would work?
When there is a workaround for it, why can the developers not just add the damn feature... I mean, seriously? It's so obvious that they want to earn as much money as they can from people with less technical knowledge.
kristjan pirc Do you have the steam version of Far Cry 5? Also, have you started a game of it yet? Those files should be there unless you havent started playing or you have a different version of the game
wallydogg Are you sure youre looking in the right directory? It should be under the Ubisoft folder in program files. Also did you install the game via steam or some other method?
Of course. Been doing this for years. Installed with steam but have Ubi for several years as well. Have 4 hard drives and checked them all. Nothing. Have a total of 5 folders in my game launch folder, none of which are saves. It's saving somewhere, just not there.
