For once, Joseph Seed was an interesting villain who had quite the development as a character. I like a villain like The Father. He was right. And in the end, Rook is stuck with him.

The only good ending, that is the one where no one has to die, is the secret one. Otherwise, The Father wins in both of the actual endings. God is truly on his side.
This ending legitimately sent chills up my spine. I remember it being 3am, my friend and I had been playing co-op since release over the course of 3 days and neither of us were expecting anything like this.
What’s most disturbing is that the sheriff is almost completely silent while the deputy and Pratt are having a mental breakdown, like he knew it would happen.

@@mobius1695. Not to mention it's clear that Whitehorse has obviously been part of the police for a couple of decades now. Looked to be in his late 30's or around the 40's in terms of age during the game. He's most likely trained to keep his mind under control, hence why he's mostly focusing on directing where you need to go and alerting you to obstacles on the way.
Wasn't the Sheriff held hostage in Faith Seed's bunker and nearly turned into an Angel because of the Bliss? Maybe the Bliss did actually make him see. See what was to come.

Not just foreshadowing but what I consider to be one of the most profound bits of storytelling I've ever seen in a game. I never played the Far Cry games before, not much interested in action shooters like that. But that's what Far Cry IS: solving every problem with a gun. But the music and the premise of fighting a cult that took roots in modern day America had my interest so I tried it. I played through and loved every minute. The ending floored me. People say they didn't like it, that it it wasn't good because it wasn't GOOD. That no matter what you did you didn't save anyone. But they don't understand it. That's the beauty of it! A SINGLE line of dialogue turned an entire series on it's head and showed that yes, sometimes it's better not to fight. There are very few endings to a game that I can say impacted me the way FC5 did, that a year later still make reflect and think on the profundity of a simple word of wisdom
This song literally makes my stomach churn. I remembered just watching the bombs fall with everyone I helped screaming to drive with this awesome song playing. It's so shocking and unexpected, but that's one of the reasons I see this as a good ending instead of an unsatisfiying one.
Underrated opinion: this ending is A W E S O M E its cool to see the Villain win for once and Joseph Seed is such a good antagonist to just die just like that, easily my favourite ending of the series!
Woulda made it if Pratt just stopped yelling. Like I know, the county was literally on fire and falling apart but a little bit of quiet could have allowed more focus which could have led to survival.

Only people really yelling were the Father and Pratt (Hudson was yelling a little bit), and “We’re gonna die, he was right!” Mixed with “Amazing Grace” is very annoying.

I love both endings. The Bad (Resist) ending i thought was the best, it just sticks to you for months. The end credit song We Will Rise Again (Choir Version) just makes it dark.
Far cry 5 don't have a good ending there are three endings Resist: whitehorse, Hudson and Pratt dies by a falling tree Walk away: whitehorse, Hudson and Pratt are killed by the player Secret: they simply walk away, but the eden's gate continues to kidnap peoples and forcing others to believe So......yep (If i have writed something wrong tell me)
Lucas Gabriel Edens Gate was saving lives so the secret ending is a great ending I mean the people they kidnapped would have survived the nuclear holocaust but we destroyed Edens Gate’s bunkers therefore most people died in the Collapse our character was the REAL antagonist and Joseph was the REAL protagonist also to clarify: I’m not saying Edens Gate was perfect but what I am saying is that the whole world was ending and they knew it so things that we see as wrong now wouldn’t be as wrong when the survival of the Human race is on the line

"They weren't perfect but were right about the nuke!" is the same as saying "The big bad guys from WW2 weren't perfect, but were right about Germany's horrible economic straights!" and you likely can't convince me otherwise. Yes, Germany was in horrible condition after the first war, in fact the treaty that was signed that put them in such horrible condition for so long was so obviously bad that some called the Great War "WW1" before the WW2 even happened, because Germany going to war again would be very likely, just so they could build themselves back up. But guess what, that doesn't justify their fascistic and imperialistic actions. PEG had the same basic premise "country's fucked, let's save it" and also went about this through unethical means. I would hardly call unlawful ownership of regulated weaponry, unethical seizure of property, mass murder on an insane scale for a group of their size, brainwashing, unethical and unwilling experimentation on both humans and animals, the creation of a dangerous narcotic, and, if I recall correctly, the planned bombing of various parts of the world using said narcotic AKA *chemical fucking warfare,* merely "imperfect." If they were brought to a war crime trail, it would be easier to list what they *didn't* violate. They were horrible. Had their plans succeeded, their remaining part of the world would manage to be less human than the nuked rest of it. A mere thoughtless junkie creature running around in the skin of a person. Bliss would remove all thoughts of individuality and human compassion. Those who escape its influence always run away thinking of them as monsters, who then hunt them down as traitors, which is seen in-game. Real good *human* people there, so long as you're completely fucking insane or under the influence of their drug, but so what? They were right about shit being fucked. If you think that PEG wouldn't be practically indiscernible from a particularly large raider group from Fallout with a funny art-style, you're deluding yourself. After the bombs dropped, they would be the same monsters they were before it. Do you think that they would suddenly change? The only thing that would is the scope of their imperialism, they would expand all over the country, maybe even the world. Hell, the cult's *still* around after the war, doin what they did before it in New Dawn. Fancy that. Call me crazy, but I don't think there's a point to "saving" humanity in a way that would end with the preservation of the outer shell of a human, and the destruction of the individual consciousness of humans. So tell me, how in the hell does them being right on the level of "shit's fucked" make their actions justified?

@@dragonbornexpress5650 I liked it, it made the game take both preparation and rethinking on the spot. Your gun wouldn't break if you grabbed new ones from the shop, which is free. As for jamming, you can pull out your pistol. It catches you off guard and makes you improvise.

We must also consider one thing. Maybe the world isn't dead,but just the montana. Ok people, let's agree on this: story may be controversial, but you can't deny that the gameplay was done quite nicely for this ending. First you have a boss fight that has you fighting against your own allies and reviving them to snap them out of the Bliss all while fighting Joseph Seed himself in an arena that changes layout from section to section. Then, after the fight, the game tests your driving skills and your reflexes with obstacles in a 2 minute race against time while the world itself burns from nuclear fire. As if that wasn't enough, the truck you are driving can still get damaged from obstacles and the two nuclear blasts during gameplay, so you need to keep damage to a minimum while also beating the clock. Even if it's somewhat easy to dodge the obstacles if you know what you're doing, the timer still helps to keep your adrenaline high and your eyes focused on the screen as the literal apocalypse occurs all around your character.

I can just invision the end of the world with this track. Sure its q badass theme to play, but the way the psychadelic guitar riffs play I can imagine the nukes blast just blowing everything away, animals and humans puffing up like smoke as their entire existence is incinerated in a bright flash and those who werent so lucky end up with their bodies roasting in nuclear fire. And after the radiation settles, you’re left with a scorched hellscape. There, gave you a different view of the song.

I'm sure some of you have tried this, but for those who haven't: If you kill Joseph Seed during the frantic drive to Dutch's bunker, the screen brightens for a few seconds, an explosion destroys the truck and kills you and everyone else, Ubisoft actually admitted that they did this on purpose, because Joseph canonically survives the events of Far Cry 5, because he appears in Far Cry: New Dawn. So Joseph cannot be killed at anytime during the drive to Dutch's bunker, or you and the others are killed non-canonically. Whitehorse, Pratt, and Hudson do not appear in Far Cry 5, because all three die in this ending when the deputy crashes the truck into a falling tree, and... since the events of Far Cry: New Dawn are canon to Far Cry 5, and clearly show Hope County after the nuclear holocaust, it also proves that the Resist ending is the real ending to Far Cry 5, meaning that no matter what ending the player chooses, the nuclear holocaust happens anyways.
I don't get the explosion part, was it cause the weapon being fired in the middle of the wildfire cause a chain reaction, endinge with the car exploding or something?

Far Cry 5 has to have the most backshit and insane ending to a video game I’ve ever seen!! I just finished it and simply put….i was in awe at the ending I was witnessing. Everything felt so real too, especially the reactions of others like Deputy Hudson and Pratt having mental breakdowns seeing the world end, and then Pratt saying Joseph was right and then praying!! I’m sad that this version isn’t on Spotify or anything, I would’ve put this on my playlist and everything “HE WAS RIGHT!!! HE WAS FUCKING RIGHT!!!”
Pratt's yelling and Joey losing her mind is what made this part so much more exhilarating. I feel so bad for Pratt, I kill Jacob last, so it breaks me to know that he just escaped Jacobs torture and was immediately killed by the bombs and the crash
