"People dont need democracy anymore. People started a revolution are selfish, greedy and undiscipline human beings. All we need is discipline. With discipline, citizens will listen, educated and well aware. All I want for our Yarans is to understand the concept of life. Sheeps needs a strong shepherd to lead them. Like a Lion, Diego. Discipline is a must. Order must be implemented. Thats why I am evil. To eradicate the evil, you have to act a villain. " President Anton, 2021.
This theory annoyed me because it's just so stupid because in farcry 3 its proven who's vaas family is it's nice that ubisoft pointed it out in one of their videos with Giancarlo Esposito
I think deep down, Castillo knew he was a psychopath but he genuinely loved Diego. So by killing Diego and himself, he chose to break the cycle of insanity as he didn’t want Diego to be an exact copy of him (since he was tortured by the rebels after his father was killed). I don’t think Dani would have been able to convince Libertad not to do the same to him.
To me He did that so that they will have no leader in the future. As we can see diego still have some humanity in him but remember when clara said the next president after anton is defeated are gonna be assasinated within a few weeks. Libertad now left with yara in their hand but no ruler as all of them are fighters
I honestly wish there would’ve been a decision to change Dani into the new dictator, and we see that revolution often leads to dictatorships not too dissimilar to the last
Yeah, there’s that whole speech Lucky Mama gives about how nobody sees themselves as corrupt, until they reach the throne, and how she wouldn’t hesitate to put a bullet through Dani’s skull. I kinda wish that went somewhere
A nice fight scene with Castello and Dani. After he shoots Diego, Dani charges at Castello. Dani gets shot once or twice by Castello, Dani tackles Castello while wounded. Disarming him then a CQC fight scene with Castello fighting Dani with his karambit.
I find it weird that after you do the last mission esperanza stays the same, the soldiers are still patrolling as if nothing happened and half of the city is still closed, this was such a fun game but I am a bit disappointed that ubisoft didn’t open the rest of esperanza.
It's almost like Far Cry games these days are actually terrible and only held up by the performance of the bad guy, who, everyone likes way more than the "good guys"
@@Rrynarth I honestly hate that about some of the Far Cry games. Only your companions have some charisma & likeability to them in terms of the good guys. Everyone else is either good, but bland or slightly less evil than the villian but still bland.
i think he killed his son out of equal parts twisted love and pride. instead of meeting his end by rebel hands he controls his own fate. instead of the castillo family dying by rebel hands, he takes it. instead of his vision dying at the hands of rebels it dies by his. rather than see his legacy be stained by lambs he brings it with him. he brings his vision with him to the grave. diego was part of that vision so he follows. that's the pride part. but secondly he started to actually care for diego. though he was not religious i believe he didn't want to see rebels seperate them from each other. he foreshadowed his own murder, he asked diego if he knew what the last lesson was. diego answered death. in that moment he had already decided to kill his son. he knows rebel leaders can and would protect diego, they've proven as much. but that's exactly why he needed to die. if his son lived it would ironically have been yet another thing taken from him by rebels, tainted by them. diego would not be the next el presidente. anton knows this, diego confessed so at the dinner table. *so rather than see his son be converted by lambs, he kills him while they are still lions.* while he is still his son, while diego is still his son and still respects him. before he converts and begins to hate his father. it's love in a way, but a selfish love. it's loving his son for himself and not for him, killing him. his proclamation "lies!" isn't made with full conviction. for the first time, at the end of his rope, truth or lies, he lied. he líed to himself. hearing that the rebels will protect and shield his son is too terrifying to bear. his life and vision in chambles, he begins coping. clinging to the only thing he can still control. their lives. it's an ironic and fitting end, that the dictator obssesed with truth and the greater good breaks down in the end. betraying his own beliefs by lying and being shortsighted. this is very integral to the story in my opinion because this is an ending that reveals his empire to have been a lie. all along it was all empty rhetoric, a bloated lie, the empire an illusion. if he killed his son strategically like some suggest then he would have in a way have been correct. he was true to his vision and it was brought down by savages whom did not understand the greater good, just like he said. which is a bad ending in my opinion. it's important for the climax of a story to be a result of the villain's flaw(s), the way they are incorrect. to not just end the villain in the plot but to end them in the story, themes & message. what they represent. at least for this type of story.
@@Gowvideos at the start for what I think is the first mission she just reenters the boat and escapes to (what I assume) is Miami. That’s more than the usual cause Far cry 4 and 5 just have you do nothing in a specific spot
I feel like the best ending in this game is to just sail away to Miami the normal ending just makes you feel like You did everything for nothing especially after the credits when Juan mentions they’ve tripled viviro production and are still exporting it
Anton did “that” because he probably didn’t want Diego to suffer the same hate and experience like he was since he’s a child locked in prison. People who still hates castillo’s would try to muder diego 24/7 no matter what since it’s been like decades his family’s rep are too big to be forgiven, unless Dani moved him to another country. Maybe he didn’t see Diego’s worth of leadership enough although diego starts growing before this plus with his paranoia of his sickness coming close
youre basically correct, tho missing one detail. Antón was apparently tortured and forced to work in tobacco fields after his fathers death, so because he didn't trust Dani to protect Diego, he chose to "spare" him of the torture
It would’ve been cool if you could choose to become the FND general for Castillo, as like a bad ending that you can actually play through instead of just a different cutscene
Why do you act like every villain has to be a psycho. I think Anton is the best far cry villain because for one he thinks what he’s doing is right and that he’s the only who will do what it takes for his country to become paradise.
Every single villain in far cry games thinks he is doing the right thing, that's why they usually are dictators. And Anton is not a psycho what drugs are you taking, the man killed his son. That's why the best vilain is Vaas the psycho that everyone loved
@@calamityarmityle3086 its in end credits idiot Ubi is clearly telling us that far cry 6 is before 3 so there's your source. Plus we all know vass is Dead he literally got stabbed, you would think he at least would help Holt or Jason. And I'm pretty sure the far cry 3 is in Same year or more to far cry 6. Plus I think Ubi fucked up the timelines to get vass in game
Important detail is that Diego had Leukemia aswell, as shown in one of the documents found in Esperanza. The entire Castillo male family line suffered from it; and seeing as viviro no longer helps Anton probably worried that Diego would die of sickness or get killed/imprisoned by the opposition. So in some way he saved him from his inevitable fate, although he could've just gotten him on a boat to escape Yara. The reasons as to why he didnt could be his mental unstabillity and paranoia in the later stages of the game; or he didnt want to stain his family name by having his son run away instead of inheriting the throne. Overall i think the story was amazing, ending seemed a bit rushed which is not uncommon in Ubisoft games. I feel like the game has such low ratings because of the repetitive gameplay. Barely anything changed from the Far Cry 3 era, go from point A to Point B & kill X amount of people; Capture Base, Checkpoint/Watchtower. I'd give the story a 7/10 because of the anatagonist alone, gameplay is around the same if its the first far cry game ur playing; if not its a solid 4/10.
Eh imo it seemed to have a lot more weapon variety than far cry 5. Far cry 5 was like here's a big gun shoot people with it while far cry 6 was just like here's a big FUCKING gun shoot people with it.
I think that could have happened if Juan wasn't there, he made the decision for us, just so he could continue smuggling vivero in the midst of Yara's collapse
@@dine19997 I dunno why but I was getting sketchy bad vibes from juan towards the end of the game. I don't think his story is over with yet... Maybe future dlc with him?
Honestly, Clara was implemented horribly. After Isla Santuario, we only come to Clara face to face a handful of times, and her character was paper thin. I feel like she really needed more screen time. Maybe if she was more prominent when you help the Monteros, Maximas Mantanzas, the legends, and la moral.
@@randomates3322 can't disagree with you. So with Diego and Dani relationship, I think. They are the major part of the whole story drama but also have very little screen time as well. Though I liked the game, this plot could be much, much better.
Vaas is the best villain still. “You can bet your life on it” making it Juan’s last bet of his life. You can also see how uncomfortable he is talking with him too he’s usually so talkative lmao
man diego getting killed bummed me the hell out, i really feel as if he could have made a compelling character if they didn't kill him I mean from what we saw he was a fairly kindhearted boy who's father's corruption (somehow) hadn't gotten to him, which considering he was raised by the man is surprising considering most people dont have enough critical thinking at the age to really set aside the values their parents gave them just yet. Idk why im so sad but like bro everyone i loved in this story fucking died (Rip Jonron, El Tigre, Clara and Diego)
Would have been cool after Diego is shot by his father, Dani charges gets shot once or twice around the torso. Then a nice brutal CQC fight scene with the Karambit.
@@Captain-Axeman Yeah we know Juan had backroom deals for Viviro he kept Clara in the dark about. I imagine Libertad will try to find a humane way to produce it while Juan keeps peddling what Anton had left
Clara and Diego's death hit me like a train. With Clara, surely I'm not the only one who could see that Dani harbored some deeper feelings there? I feel like the game often teased that but never quite outright said it. To see Dani so distraught by her death but using that pain to push the revolution into its final phase... And then with Diego, he was like this little brother who Dani just wanted to protect and save from Antón. When Diego said "You were the lucky one" just like Lita said, bringing the game full circle, I just about lost it.
Clara’s character was ass, did nothing in game to build her character and progress her storyline. Only showed up at the end of every key character that you got rid of and spouted some boring monologue about Yara needing this to happen. She added nothing to the story lmao.
"People dont need democracy anymore. People who started a revolution are selfish, greedy and undiscipline human beings. All we need is discipline. I just realized that Diego and Anton’s name cards on the map foreshadow the ending. “He needs to get his throat slit” “The future of Yara lies in (Diego’s) heart”
I have a strange feeling that Vaas has been secretly working for the CIA and has gone rogue...or he's still working for them...I'm just assuming he maybe rogue because of how unhinged he is...
I like this ending the whole entire not killing him feels bitter like he wins not matter what on top of that Dani doesn't get the ending he/she wanted revenge for clara and the whole country basically living a life that will forever haunt them
Game of the Year for me. I’m not sure why everyone’s hating on Far Cry 6. The characters and story were awesome. Dani’s transformation from a fugitive to the leader of Libertad was amazing character development. Castillo was a fantastic villain. Giancarlo Esposito killed it. Despite how phenomenal 6 is, 5 still remains my favorite Far Cry. Excellent job Ubisoft.
The story has been the same for about 3, now 4 games. Revolution. Pagan Min, Joseph Seed, the two girls i dont remember the name of because i didn't play New Dawn, and now Anton Castillo.
@Gnomesaying you can deny it because you're over exaggerating to oblivion. the only graphical issue I noticed were the irises of characters' eyes acting a little funky in occasional cutscenes. go cry about rushed games somewhere else because here, it only makes you look foolish
I just realized that when Anton shoots Diego in the heart and kills him that if you ever took the time and look at the map and pause your game to read each persons profile pic in the region. Diego’s specially said “The future of Yara lies in his heart.”
28:30 that tells us this is before far cry 3 since he sounds exactly like vaas, so vaas used to smuggle drugs like vivaro. Edit: Jesus fucking christ, i get it, this game takes place after far-cry 3 and Vaas never fucken kicked the bucket, STOP FUCKING ARGUING ALREADY.
The perfect definition of "Bad Guy winning" Castillo killed Clara (the creator of Libertad, the real threat to him) he killed his own son because he knew he had affection for Dani and vice versa and in the end he killed himself to prevent Dani from savoring his victory, leaving him alone with his failure. Imo, one of the best antagonist of the saga (Vaas will always remain number 1)
Antón was nothing like the other farcry villains. we really get to see a lot from his perspective as he slowly goes insane and his world falls apart as libertad slowly take control of Yara and close into Esperanza.
Diego’s death is the saddest in the game. I felt so bad for him throughout the game, and seeing him getting killed by his father is heartbreaking. The ending makes me depressed ughh
“It could be us in another timeline, and we’re caught in some infinite loop of fighting and dying, fighting and dying, fighting and dying. And Tanaka? Puppet master, Devil, God. And we - you, me, Guz, and the rest of the team - simply pawns in some perverse play where we’re destined to repeat our failures. And finally, in some mind-bending, ironic reveal, it all begins again.”
@@robertoalfaro4670 I think this just proves that Vass survived far cry 3 and apparently the 30 years before thing was only a rumor because of how the kid kinda looked like Vass, Ubisoft confirms it's set in our current time.(meaning 5 ending is not canon in likelihood Yay). One of the biggest theories is that Vaas survives far cry 3 because you never see his body, you only fight him in a vision.
@@sametguzelgun3065 Yeah. Even GoW and TLOU have garbage like that. Not filled with contents, its just speedrun through story. Nothing beat games like RDR2, people that complain how its slow and boring are braindead twerps who prefer games like TLOU.

“For Yara to be free, he needs his throat slit.” Antón slits his own throat. “The future of Yara lies in his heart.” Diego is shot in the chest by Antón.
@The Lonely Proto seems lacking in terms of drama. Plus killing thousands in a revolution is quite an obvious scenario. It's not like this game makes you care a lot about weight of that outcome. Far Cry 4 had much more interesting twist with the same dictator story
How is this disappointing? I think it fits well. Anton has already lived through one revolution and didn’t want his son to go through it again. Even tho Dani would’ve treated him well, most of yara would still hate him for being a Castillo.
@@user-sw7ln9ro7y idk if you’ve actually played the game and gotten to this point, but a lot of things happen to make you care about the end. If you don’t personally care then that’s just you.
I'm just glad that we finally have a concrete character again I was so done with that mute shit in FC5, people are saying this is a prequel, but please just have them retcon 5's ending, it was s*** anyway. Have it be a separate timeline.
What was wrong with far cry 5 ending? From what I’ve seen we really didn’t get anything better than a blank protagonist Dani is just as plain as white bread. Also having the mute nameless protagonist in far cry 5 works because the villains are talking directly to the player and trying to make you think.
Dani is one of the worst protagonists ever, I liked rook much more. also bad ending? Literally had an actual good ending tho or are you just mad Joseph didn’t die?
this isn't the canon ending. the canon ending is achieved when you find a disabled person and agree to set up a bomb on his wheelchair, then a cinematic of his death will play out.
I noticed that in the pictures of Diego and Anton that appear on the map it say: Diego: *The future of Yara is in his hearth* Anton: *For free Yara we must slith his throat* And look what happened here. Diego got shot in his heart and Anton killes himself by cutting his throat
@@josephpayne2253 sir if you don’t see that I made a stupid play of words I’m afraid you don’t know what trolling means… that or you read it with a different tone than intended
Would be awesome if Diego was the final boss of the game. Imagine him throwing Viviro at Dani, who starts allucinating, fighting multiples Diegos who will attack with full rage to defend his father against Dani, quite similar to the fight against Joseph Seed in Far Cry 5. In the ending, Dani end up nearly killing Diego, who hugs his father while crying in despair, and then Anton shoots him and commit suicide right after...
Imo he is the worst and most cowardly villain of the Far Cry series..What he did at the end of the game showed just how weak he actually was. There was no deeper meaning behind his plan and there was no paradise. He was a crazy ass dying dictator who wanted to flex any ounce of muscle he could before he died. At least Pagan Min and The Father had a direction to their madness.
@@chrisrose2767 he killed his son because he knew Dani was lying, plus Anton didn’t want Diego to go through the same punishment as of what he did and considering Diego would of been the very last Castillo alive would even be so much worst so killing him made it better in my opinion For me Pagan min and the father are meh villains not good Anton is easily the best in the series But i respect yours if yours different
It really sucks because I really thought you would just get rid of Castillo and let Clara and Juan take care of Yara and maybe raise Diego like a brother and take him to America to watch baseball games but when he got shot that shit crushed me mans didn’t ask for that life and I thought he was Vass😔
Well to each their own. To me this game was a huge let down from start to finish. Many criticize Far Cry 5 but I felt much more immersed there than in this story.
I beat this just now and I hate endings like this. All the buildup for the big bad the entire game all for him to just kill himself or just disappear, looking at Valhalla and odyssey here. At least in ac odyssey you could choose to kill or not kill. It’s not satisfying, at least I think.
Far cry had to push the villains more . They need screen time . They too dam good to only have less that 40 min screen time . I can’t even tell you who was the shortest. I think pagan min , Joseph seed then vaas
Came here to watch the ending because I had the controller face down on my shoulder and just so happened that it had B held to skip though the cut scene 😒
Juan really screwed things up honestly and its weird that barely anyone has mentioned it. Single handedly was responsible for claras death by going against the plan and targeting diego then proceeds to take it out on dani
