They deserve it for being hostile, corrupt, dishonest and evasive! AND KO is making garbage...so yeah...they deserve it! Never mind all the personal attacks on me they have made!

9:30 look how thin the phase plane is at that copper bar section, thats why its their it helps bridge 2 normal width phase planes without a hi resistance chock point.

agreed...still miles better than KO!

Even some of the more advanced controllers like BAC 8000 will have a bad time if not precharged - i finally understood why i should always use precharge after frying two (2) bbshd controllers

love your vids! So my 96850 died a few days ago, said lower MOSFET bridge fault. Wondering if you think I should be able to strip down and replace the damaged components? Thinking to order the 961200 so I can run the controller at a lower percentage of it's max power, thinking it would extend it's life. This one lasted about 18 months.

Do you have any experience with electronics repair? If you don't, then I don't recommend trying. This is a specialized skill set. It's not that you can't learn, just that you should expect to fail a lot before you finally succeed and get sufficiently good enough to be able to do this sort of work without making things worse. *** Are you in the USA? Perhaps you would be willing to send it to me? Get the blue FD controllers. This is their latest designs and somewhat better than their stuff like the 96850 in this teardown video.

@@de-bodgery I have some understanding of soldering etc from my days at tech college. I just noticed 2 videos titled BLDC controller MOSFET repair, so even if I don't get to it now, be worth trying in case I had success. Were you suggesting you can attempt a repair based on your comment, or was that just an interest in having a unit to examine etc?

Cordial greeting, good video, could you explain to me how to do the preload so that when the controller is connected, the negative and positive lines do not generate those sparks

It took less than a minute to google for precharging and I found this great article. www.sensata.com/sites/default/files/a/sensata-how-to-design-precharge-circuits-evs-whitepaper.pdf

@@de-bodgery I know there is no shunt. How does it measure the battery current? I want it to draw higher current.

hello, in your opinion, it is necessary to modify the power tracks that go to the mosfets and the power plus and minus?
@de-bodgery
@de-bodgery Год назад
The controller works as is with no modding. If I wanted to use this controller up near it's upper ratings, I would definitely add copper reinforcing at the left and right phase busses and the battery plus ring on the power stage.
@igoroleinic3902
@igoroleinic3902 Год назад
I want to buy this controller but I looked at the power payment and I'm thinking that if I buy it, I'll take it apart and upgrade all the power rails, I have an assumption that as it is, it will never provide 400 line amps and 850 phase amps and it will heat up enormously standard power rails
@igoroleinic3902
@igoroleinic3902 Год назад
I want to hear your opinion, would it be real to use this controller without the compound that is poured from the factory
@de-bodgery
@de-bodgery Год назад
@@igoroleinic3902 I will probably do the same to this controller once I get it reflashed so it can run effectively at it's maximum capabilities.
@de-bodgery
@de-bodgery Год назад
@@igoroleinic3902 You don't need the potting in it. Secure any parts so they can't move...like you see me do with silicon. They lack a seal from the plastic shell to the aluminum base. I'd at least seal the shell before use so you keep out moisture. IF you noticed, I stuck down the silicon grommets to the shell with silicon caulk. I sealed up the pour hole as well. I'll get some of that sealing stuff that o-rings are made from and make a seal for inside the lid. It has the slot for one, just no seal in the groove!

@@anikety.rajput6183 Inside any stud that a screw goes through, there is a nylon sleeve that goes inside the stud to isolate the screw from the heat sink. Any screw that holds down a battery or phase stud also has nylon insulators between the screws and the studs.
