From building a car in his shed, to shipping it across the world to compete in the world's most prestigious time attack race. This is the unexpected dream come true for Stanceworks' Mike Burroughs.
But as with all things racing. Not all went to plan...
The week that was, Mike's first trip down under. And what a way to spend it: Driving his beautiful K24 turbo swapped Ferrari 308 time attack machine in the annual World Time Attack Challenge.

Great story. A 43 is quite good at SMSP, my car has done 47's in races on Medium A050, and T1 is always a puckering moment, considering the class competition it is well done... I wonder what a Pro driver would do, for those that don't know often at WTAC cars are double entered with a Pro (and despite what people think they are not built like us, that is why they break things, all the time)

That was amazing! I started tearing up when Mike described the transmission issue, and then again when willing people took time to try and find a solution. It is a testament to Mike's personality, engineering skills, and leadership that so many others came alongside and helped him achieve his goal. God bless them all!

I’ve watched many mighty car mods videos. I know haltech are amazing car guys. But, I just never knew they were such amazing racers! Car guys will always pitch in and help on a project. But, racers are a different breed. Racers will put stupid money time and effort in just to see a guy rip it around a track. Awesome to see!

When I caught this project Mike was just putting the Honda engine into the chassis. I though it was insanity. Sacrilegious even, but as each episode landed it became evident there was method to the madness. In its final form it has absolute presence! Livery is spectacular. Kudos Mike. I'm not sure how you top this one.

9:34 that magic moment of cohesion between supply and maintenance, the fact the vendor said “you agree to replace this one and you can have it” anybody NOT in Logistics might not understand how HUGE that is, that’s a complete hookup through insurmountable odds. The only guys around with one, took the opportunity to be SO COOL. They made their whole trip worth it. That’s incredible

I love this, it's how some of the greatest names in motor-racing history got started, owner/builder/drivers with enough raw talent to attract the attention of a sponsor who is willing to take a long shot. If I hadn't been watching Mike's journey, and seeing just how talented he is, I wouldn't have thought it was still possible! Well done to everyone involved in this whole effort.

Plenty of time left in that car and mike for sure. Lapping in the same time i do in my NA S2000. Can see line changes in a few corners already dropping a couple seconds alone. Hoping Mike gets to come back out again once the car is more refined!

What an incredible achievement. I watched every part of Mikes build and to see it come to Australia blows my mind. Im a passionate Ferrari fan I grew up with them through my Dad and his friends. Historically the Ferrari marque crosses generations and initially my heart was torn seeing in my eyes a "late model" Ferrari having a Honda motor replace the V8 i get it and I think old Enzo would appreciate seeing one of his cars being modified to keep it doing what all Ferraris should do make people smile.

Brilliantly engineered by a genuinely awesome character, well marketed with lots of exposure and hype. The fact that it could be repaired so quickly is testament to the quality and dedication of all involved. After all the off track drama there was a lot of anticipation when the 1000 HP K-swapped Ferrari hit the track in earnest. Hoping to see Mike & the car return in 2024 with a bit more driving experience. Best of luck for next year!

Think they nailed it with the extension of the invitation to WTA, for Mike. Obviously lots of anticipation for the cars reveal, and as evidenced by the community participation in getting Mike and the car past the teething pains.
