Carbon fiber will get you like that, but it's pretty easily fixed as you demonstrated. I can't wait to play with my fara-J.

Thanks! It is dual band 2m and 70cm. Plus since it’s fabric, you can tune it by folding down the end. Theoretically you can use it on 1.25m.

I tested my antenna, at home, with a 50' roll of RG-58, and it worked just fine! You do you! I was just thinking about making another jumper cable using some left over RG-174, because its also so small and light.

I tested my Ed Fong j-pole with the Carbon 6 mast as a back-up option for a public service event. There was definitely some interaction with the mast--if the antenna got too close, the SWR would be off. Good, quick thinking on repositioning the mast! Great review in the field too.

I got mine in yesterday, and like it! It is very well made, super light weight, rolls up into a SMALL roll. And the best part is that it is tunable! It seems to TX & RX very clearly on a local 147 MHZ repeater. look forward to more tests and use, but I have already noticed that it can twist up, into a spiral, on itself, which may mess with its function?

I have been curious about these antennas. Something to consider is that you're probably losing a lot of your radatied power in the rg316. It would be interesting to try with a different coax in the same place with the same setup. I wonder if your signal would noticeably improve. I doubt it with that short of a run.

Amazing video! Thank you. You had me worried I sent you one that might have been flawed. I am doing my best to get some stock in and get you some more. If you have a antenna analyzer you can tune the antenna to be perfect in the frequency you are transmitting at. Here is the video on how to do it ru-vid.comJYkSCSzqHQc Also the length of the coaxial makes the losses for this so notional that it is hardly worth considering like you said.
