"I didn't know what it was and still don't but I sure do want it now that you want it" You get your fair share of those same people at flea markets and estate sales too if you show too much interest or knowledge in something.
Dave, STOP encouraging the 'homeowner' to take the best of the items you worked hard to pull out. He wants what he feels is valuable but doesn't want to dig through and find them. You kept telling him what was valuable and to take what he wants. REALLY! Also, you took out some plates with blue design around the edges and left some in the box. You took one turquoise teacup/mug and left others in the box.
You should be removing the hardware off of doors, cabinets, old dressers. The handles are extremely collectable and people like to buy vintage and antique hardware for refinishing old furniture or to add a little character to kitchen cabinets.
I'm lovin digging through all the old stuff and at the same time I'm feeling my age and very very sad. Was the big old camel back trunk too heavy? They are at least worth $100+..... My neighbor put one out in the trash (130 years old) Don't know how I mustered the strength to drag it home, but ... couldn't watch the trash truck destroy it.
Our flag should never be left in rubbish. It was probably old an worth having the stars counted. The old levi's with rivets were a amazing sight. White Lighting a rare find. The wood floors, the dishes, this was a trip back in time. Loved the sharing. All except the flag on the rubbish. God Bless. N C.
As someone who deals in antique primitives and farm related antiques, I’m both jealous of you and happy for you! What a great score Dave, happy picking!
If walls could talk...what a fascinating old house, and a treasure trove. So much could be pulled out of there and saved. I hope they work slow enough to give the babies a chance to fly out of there. They are treasures, too.
Everything you love guy says oh I'm gonna keep that and this.. SMDH.. 😡😤 Gr8 items you found Dave.. Love the stone ware it's all very collectable and valuable.. Well done. Stay safe homie..👍💕🔥⚾😷✌
Baby buzzards are like “what the heck is all this racket going on up here ... sounds like a bull in a China store ” 😂 such treasures though... packed full of awesome stuff !
The clock co that became Timex was begun in 1854. The history is complicated but its wrist watches began being made during the First World War. It really took off when they acquired a deal with Disney in 1930 to make the first Mickey Mouse watches. I wish I had one of those! (info from Wikipedia)
the blue looks like Moderntone which is depression ware. I would have bought that. I have a funny story about an old man farmer when I was a kid of 10. He hired me to help him on his farm. He was very good to me. When farm work slacked he asked me to wash his shirts. So I did and they had been sweated in and sunburned so long that they shredded on me. I was so scared cause I had never seen that happen. He laughed at me and explained what had happened. but God, I was so scared for ruining his shirts.
Jaysus Dave, I sure hope you have at least a dust mask on. That thing in the attic looked like the agitator for a washing machine. I think I need a benedryl now. Lol.
Hi Dave, do I think this is fun, well YEAH!!!! Just about as fun as opening king Tut's tomb! What neat old stuff, a shame they are pitching so much out, wish I was there. That crock to die for, the old jeans etc., Jars, oh just everything!! Hope you come across more places like this, Id be binge watching for sure. Great fun, thanks Dave.
NO. You make us wait for the barn. Lol you are braver than me. That attic and basement scared me. Did you get the costume jewelry? Why not get the other large crock as well? Just curious. Stay safe and God Bless
Can't believe this video! AMAZING. Had to watch it twice. That guy actually was thinking the jars with food in was edible 😁. Had no clue about what stuff was worth. Thank you for taking me along 😊.
I want to know who threw all those clothes around from the safety of the trunk and then failed to replace them, letting them rot. Wanna slap them right upside the head!!! Hey my man, can you please cc your vids for us? Much appreciated. Always learn something watching your channel!
Looks like fun going thru the old house, the last one I went thru going thru the old porch I found myself up to my waist when I fell thru the floor. Must start that diet soon lol. Looks like a great haul for you Dave!
Hello, I really enjoy your videos. But on this one you might need to make sure you didn’t put the code to open your phone in the video. It was right at the first of it. I’m sorry if I’m wrong but I would rather be sorry than someone remotely or anyone close to you to get into your phone that shouldn’t be. Keep making those informational videos I have learned a lot. I can’t do any of it because I’m home bound mostly. But I still have fun watching them. God bless you and your family.
BBD: Looks like you are on a roll of late, so enjoy the ride! The baby buzzards were a unexpected bonus, too. Hope you got to keep the WW1 Army tunic. IMHO, nice to see a real farm pick rather than the scripted, contrived type presented on network TV. What you share with your viewers is real life. You are a hunter, utilizing knowledge and expertise gained over your lifetime, to support and raise a family. In your quests, being successful is not only personally satisfying, but the "thrill of the hunt" is often equally so. It is a primordial thing and something most people will never experience...
05:54 I saw something reflecting rainbows in one corner of the closet. The costume jewelry was a nice find too. Hope someone saves the plastic tree. 09:29 Loetz????? Or is it American? The juicer was uranium glass almost for sure. Looking at that basement all I can see is this Summer's entire stock for the flea market. Put the denim on line; some folks in Japan used to pay silly money prices for old workwear. (wish I could find some!)
This reminds me of my aunt's farm house. I loved that old farm house! It would have been a picker's dream, too. You almost need a battery operated light on a stand for a pick like this. So sad to see all those items destroyed by water. The house is so interesting. It's too bad they don't sell it...there would probably be a buyer out there who would buy it cheap and restore it.
Old bottles and junk in basement that’s actually treasure. Hmmmmm. You get rewarded with that beautiful painted croc! Awesome for sure! Croc with wooden handle. Man so many spider webs! Lots of paper, too! Those are distressed jeans! You are such a great treasure hunter!
Sanforization was patented in 1930, so the jeans date from after that. I've seen ads in old newspapers from the 1940s and 50s for Tom Roger brand jeans, but can't find much else online about them.
I would have pulled the knobs/dials off of the old wood radio in the attic that was behind the red radio. Depending on make/model, they can sell for amazing money!
It is interesting to watch you pick and choose what has value and what does not. I’m glad you were able to find and save some treasures from the landfill. It’s a rescue recycling mission!
It's nice to see things get a second chance, especially nice things like that that people will appreciate. I hate to think of all of the old historic homes that get inherited and just demolished without a chance for someone to look through the items first to see if anything is salvageable.
I love exploring old houses. So many interesting things to see and imagine who used them and how. That black thing you took up after the radio looks like a washing machine paddle. That toy soldier was a cute find. I once had a top like that.( shows you how old I am, lol.)
Best video ever! So glad I subscribed to your channel. This pick is what vintage collectors dream of! Glad you got to keep the crock. Those jeans! Can't wait to see the next video!
This is a pick i really wish i could be there with you. I love those kind of picks. Just amazing luck you have. I cannot wait for next video. Congratulations Dave
Yep, you hit it really good Dave, a gold mine for sure. I really enjoyed this and your excitement, Loved everything ! Epic footage! Looking forward to seeing the barn!!! Have Fun!!!
