Our second day of farm visits and we took a long drive from Castelo Branco to Arganil in the Coimbra district. It was very far! The drive was epic, but I couldn't capture it on video. I took the long way (which I thought was short) over the Estrella mountain pass! I saw 2 farms in Coja, and both were on my shortlist. I would prefer to be in Castelo Branco, but had to go and visit Coimbra to see how I like it!

Today was only Coja, close to Arganil in the district of Coimbra.

Today I even saw a video from people who visited their farm for the first time time and had bought it online without seeing it before. They were happy and surprised positively. Very exciting. Personally I am interested in the area of Fundao. For my innovative plant project I will need a lot of water. Electricity and internet would be great.

I can see why they would! I felt the same way after seeing #16 farms :p Fundáo is lovely - and having an additional water source will help greatly. The rainfall this winter has been slim so far. Do stay in touch - would love to find out about your project!

Hi Christine and Kati, i understood that you're both looking for a property in the center. You know, i don't really understand why lots of people are looking for the eastern part of the center that can be really (to) dry and hot, and it't probably getting worse.Ok, lot's of land for little money both men know why. Why not looking the area in the triangle, let's say, Coimbra - Tomar- Lousã? A little more expensive (that is relative in Portugal as you know): much more green, lots of river beaches in the mountains, isolated if you want but alle ammeneties within half an hour driving An extra: one hour to the atlantic ocean with marvelous quite beaches . I'm there again within 4 weeks, maybe we can meet somewhere. I want to move within 6 years but am owning a property that i'm reconstructing already during 7 years, slowly.

Thanks for your feedback Jan! I have looked at Arganil in Coimbra & Tomar. Originally I thought I would want to settle in Santarem/Tomar area but there is something about Castelo I just love :) Property everywhere seems expensive at the moment - so I'm not choosing Castelo as it's cheaper, but more as I really like the area :)

Which real estate agencies are you using? It's always good to view properties more than once. Like at different times of day or week or season. One viewing with one realtor that is not based where the properties are is not sufficient. I think trying to find a property in one week is extremely ambitious... If you are renting a place why not plan viewings more spaced out?

HI Dinorah, I've looked at hundreds of properties on idealista and multiple other websites, plus have had about 5 or 6 agents send me listings too for the last 3 months. I made a short-list and viewed 16 so far. Some I walked in and immediately knew it wasn't right - so no, for me personally I know exactly what I want :) I did one week as I was sure that shortlist had the ONE I was looking for, and it did. I made an offer, but the owner then wanted some more money in cash so I walked away from that deal. I'm looking to only work with reputable agents now and my search continues. My new list already has over 50 properties, but I've yet to make my shortlist. I'm now looking to move closer to C/b to make viewings easier.
