ABOUT Girl Meets Farm: Hello and welcome! I'm Christine, an expat originally from South Africa.
I started this journey in search of my forever farm in Portugal, and found it in 2022.
This is my adventure as a solo expat on a farm in Central Portugal with my two fur-kids, Shakti & Shiva. I've never owned or lived on a farm, but moved to Portugal in the hope of fulfilling a life-long dream of finding open space, subsistence farming and a safer, better life.
Now that we have found our farm, the second stage of our journey begins! I have to figure out farm life while renovating an agricultural structure to make it habitable and turn it into a comfortable home for me and my furkids.

Hey Chris, what an abundance of fruit the garden is giving you. Did you like going out in the kayak, did you used to do that in South Africa as well? Nice job with the little stones on the edge, really like that. Kitchen finished next week ;)) Joking, it's quite a big job to do, will be great to see it coming together. Have a good week!!! That’s going to be a huge project putting all those cabinets together. I hope you get some help with that. But I can’t wait to see the transformation. It’ll be beautiful.
Farm is looking so good Christine. Glad you can at least work inside on tiling when it is so hot outside. Sorry about your mishaps...glad all ended well, though Can't wait to see the kitchen up and running😊 That dam where you do the kayaking is so beautiful. What a lovely hobby Tiling is also coming along so very well . The trim looks great. Good luck with the assembly of the cupboards. Going to be like building a big jigsaw puzzle😅 All the best🎉

I'm so sorry about your loss. First your Father, than your Grandma. My mother passed away in 2019, before I moved to Portugal. I know how it feels.... Warm wishes.
That floor will be beautiful and easy to keep clean. oh and that STOVE wow it's gorgeous. A kitchen !! a real Kitchen for you hahah will be most awesome. And your beloved Grandma Christine I am so sorry, Its hard to express comforting words here but I hope you are taking time for you. big old hugs.

Sincere condolences to you with the passing of ouma Stella. The two of you had a bond which will never be broken. Gone, but never forgotten. That little electronic level looks amazing. Beautifully packaged as well. Sure you will have many years of good use from the little gadget So glad your kitchen cupboards have arrived . Going to be a major game changer in your life. That gas hob and oven is to die for. You will now have to start making time for baking and cooking.... I know how much you have been missing that! The tiling, perfect. What a back-breaking job. Thank you mom, and condolences to you also for losing a mother. I think about her often. Gone, but never forgotten. Hope to have most of the kitchen finished by the time you arrive so we can cook together :) xx
