Farmer's Daughter is 1st to Drive "New" Semi 

Most people her age can’t even drive a car well, but she’s over there floating gears like a champ! Well done kiddo!

I was a driving coach for a major freight carrier for ten years and had grown men who couldn't shift that good, Great job young lady!

Take it from an old man who barely passed high school with C's. You need school. I am now retired at 58, but I earned a two year degree, then a four year degree, then a Masters Degree. Worked my whole life doing something I really love. Can't believe it is over already. Loved every minute of it, Don't wait to learn this when you are working full time and then doing school full time. Learn everything you can from your parent and family. Your a very lucky young women to have a Mom and Dad that is so willing to teach you all those wonderful things. I always wanted to drive a truck and never did. You are so fortunate.

You did really well. I will give you a free and easy tip for the winter time. Do not set your parking brake for the trailer unless you have the truck off or are dropping it to avoid frozen brakes. IF THEY DO FREEZE a screw driver or a stick with a small hammer or a rock can undo them, especially if brakes have dust covers. Make sure wheels are chocked so it will not roll on ya first, release the brakes on the trailer, not the tractor lol. Next, place the screwdriver or the stick against the SIDE of the brake pad. then like a chisel on wood take the hammer or rock and start hitting the screw driver or stick to drive it into the pad sideways like towards the outside direction of the trailer. If the pad does not move hit harder until it breaks free and like a spring slightly "jiggles". Move to the next pad, if it jiggles it is not the one frozen. find the "non jiggly" pad that is not "frozen". This will protect your hearing from getting damaged by banging a hammer on the brake drum like the CDL manual says. One of the little trucker tricks so to speak I have learned in my 26 years of long haul trucking. Hope this helps!
