Before trying to start the G660, check the "H" and "L" jets according to the manual instructions. Mine was to turn both clockwise until seated, then back out counterclockwise 1 full turn. This allows for starting and running, but adjustment must be made after starting to get optimum performance. The lack of a half choke stop is NOT an issue in starting. New out of the box what's needed to start most easily are the following steps: 1. After filling the fuel and oil tank, depressing and holding the throttle to full move the master control all the way down to full choke and release your grip on the throttle. 2. Push down the decompression release and engage chain brake. 3. Pull the starter rope until the saw pops first time and pops up the decompression release. 3. Move the master control up to the run position (There's NO HALF CHOKE) and depress the decompression release again. 4. Pull the starter rope several times until the saw starts and as it's at high idle, immediately squeeze the throttle to lower the rpm and disengage the chain brake. WARNING: Any other sequence to try starting the G660 will immediately flood the saw requiring letting it set and clear before doing it as above.
Seems like you have a lot of chainsaws running. Just wondering are you a big operation or a small hobbyist like myself? I’m just running 1 Husqvarna but thinking of venturing into another saw for more production
Ummm... because it came straight out of the box? Saws are not shipped with fuel in the tank so it takes a while to suck the fuel through the fuel line and up into the carb. Is normal for chainsaws to do that straight out of the box.
You flooded it 59min and 45sec ago. The carb might not be set properly to get it started if ordered it factory direct. If you smell fuel or see it sripoing from the muffler, pull the sparkplug, dry the plug off, pull the starter rope several times to blow the cylinder clear, reinstall the dry plug and try again. Otherwise there are many videos on RU-vid on "how to start a chainsaw", "how to start a flooded chainsaw", etc. For this big saw, fresh out of the box try startimg it without pressing the decompression button on full choke until it coughs, if no "pop" from the engine after three of four pulls, go to half-choke and try that.
Nearly a month after ordering the saws finally shipped. Then about 5-6wks to get them. What I didn't know that was holding up the order was the saw chain I ordered was out of stock for the G372xp I ordered. Messaged them and the shipped it within days. Then it took nearky 5wks to get to the port and picked up by UPS. After that, less than a week.
@@thefirewooddoctor oh man. I thought mine would be here any day. Sounds like I got some time to wait still after 40 days. Thanks so much man. I'm gonna message them.
@@smokingcheeba420, I did two 5min heat cycles on this saw before putting it to the wood in test cuts. Is running quite rich but can tell it is a beast of a chainsaw!
45 minute video. Sitting on a snowed deck. One nut falls in a deck crack. 15 minutes to try and access the spark plug the wrong way, instead of looking at the manual under "spark plug". I couldn't continue after 16 minutes. Nothing to learn here except what not to do.
