This video shows a few of the sights seen by the crew of the Fleming 65, Venture II, when they called at the Faroe Islands on their way from Southampton to a circumnavigation of Iceland in the summer of 2010.
Thank you for your comments. I have been interested in filming from the air using the kinder of 'copter you show but have been nervous about losing control and also the camera - especialy over water! What kind of 'copter do you use and what camera?
Iceland is also very beautiful . Similar to the Faroes, but much more city like, but that is probably due to the fact that they are manyyyy more people in Iceland. The languages are some what similar , but not to the extreme . They are both nice:) Personally, the Faroe Islands is prettier, but I like the Icelandic language a little bit more , I like their accents :p
Natasha Hanssen - have a questionable anachronistic and shocking approach to anima life though uk.businessinsider.com/whale-and-dolphin-hunts-in-faroe-islands-photographed-by-campaigners-2017-11
clobbyhops You can find further information and inspiration at www.visitfaroeislands.com There you also can read about that these pretty unknown isles are actually voted as "Worlds Best Travel Destination 2015" by National Geographic Traveler
It is !! It's so beautiful , so much fun , and super nice people ! Of course there are those few people who make everyone else look bad -.- But if you ever have the opportunity to go , don't pass it up ! :D
I always wonder what motivates people to live in these out of the way and remote areas: be it in the frigid areas, the islands 1,000 miles away from "civilisation" or the balmy tropical islands. Haven't found it yet on the internet.
from watching these kinds of youtube videos... wool (and products) and salmon farms seem to be predominant industries but my guess is that you will have other occupations like police, teachers, ferrymen, fishermen, farmers etc.
Fantastic video. Love to follow your adventures in yout channel. Especially the Faroe Islands. I have done a lot of filming from the air. Hope you like and evt subscribe. Sent you a small Video filmed today. Comming back for more.
Two reasons: The main one being that in all these northern places the wind just blows the trees away. The seond is that sheep eat the young shoots before the wind has time to blow them away.
The Faroe Islands maintain a tradition of whale killing and I would urge anyone thinking of Visiting the Faroe Islands to reconsider. The whale killing must stop.
Driss Green There has been 2 attempts of getting a mosque built on faroe islands, but they were denied, and they weren't angry for being denied from building a mosque, they just went on with their lives, and they live fine without a mosque, and they haven't been deported nor attacked for having another religion than christanity.
I`m from Spain,& I found Faroe islands,Idilic & a must to visit destination. But once you know, they kill wales & dolphins,my interest vanished right away!!.What for to go to a place, and to spend our money, where they still have such a horrendous practices???.No way!!!. :-( !!!.I won`t go!!!.
The Amazing Wild Nature] IMPORTANT! we must SHARE it to see people what is really happening in the world ... REAL STORY: Around 150 pilot whales were hacked to death in The Faroe Islands (Europe). They were chased into a bay by men in boats where hundreds of people waited with hooks and knives and attacked them, babies were killed plus pregnant whales had their unborn babies cut out of them.
