People who didn’t know Faron didn’t know how to take him. He could be very out spoken, brash and blatantly honest. In reality, he was a very humble, big-hearted man. And unlike a lot of famous people, He never thought he was any better than the common working man. He was a great friend to my dad and to me.

I wounder why a movie has not been made about Faron? I never heard him sign live. My Uncle did several times when working in Nashville. He said Faron was one of the few artist he ever heard that sounded the same live as he did on his recordings!! True talent with a beautiful voice! He was also a big help to several up and coming artist. Way better than the total crap they call country music today!

I never tire of listening to Faron Young. He was extraordinary. RIP Faron.

Faron is the greatest and was a dear friend to my husband, both of them in music, he was a sweet man and helpful to so many and so generous. He will always be remembered. He is missed very much. Widow of KenAllen

Listening to this music brings back a lot of memories we could only get 1 am station where I lived because if you tried to change it you got your ass kicked and had to do the girls chores then the whole family made fun of you, also went to a lot of dances had lots of fun though out my years I listen to all kinds of music now and still go dancing, concerts ever event we can make,good stuff

This just popped about of nowhere in my RU-vid feed. A I must know I love classic country. So much of modern country sounds like warmed over Souther Rock to me. Seldom do you hear a steel guitar in "modern country". It has no soul.

When Charley Pride was getting started, Faron ALMOST called him the n-word one day. CP flew across the room and told him if he called him that he’d never call anyone else that! Faron, being a Louisiana good old boy, was shocked, then immediately apologized and became one of CP’s biggest supporters.

The lead player was O’Dell Martin, he and the drummer use to stop by and visit on their was to the next gig, O’Dell could play every song Chet Atkins recorded. He died in a car wreck driving home from the Opry, it was foggy and raining hard. He was a great man

A good harmony sure made or broke a lot of singers, Ray Price, Buck Owens,, etc,,I almost overlooked this side of Faron, funny how D Mc,,, didn't rise above his talent,, but then again.
