Every once in a while, I hear a Faron Young song that I had not heard before. This is one of those. A couple of years ago, I set out to buy all of the albums made by Faron from 1968-1972--little did I know what a monumental task that would be--"massive" does not begin to describe it. I think I have purchased 20+ albums and still have a few that I have missed. What a legend Faron Young is.

I will always be grateful that I discovered Faron Young so long ago. He was a great interpreter of so many good songs. His voice will resonate forever with me and all his many fans. Long Live the Sherriff

The absolute best voice I've heard in a long time.

I think Faron was at his best from the late 60's to the mid 1970's.

Early Faron was amazing... but late Faron imho was equally great. This is my favorite album of his. I swear the Sheriff could sing the phone book and make it a gold record. This track is stupendously good.

This is the epitome of the Classic Faron sound with Jerry Kennedy at the controls during his years at Mercury records. Jerry Chesnut of "Four In The Morning" Fame is a sure guarantor of a quality song and he does not disappoint with this one.

Great song sung by a great singer. I like the lyrics for the simple yet profound way it destroys two of the foundation stones of feminism propounded constantly by sour, man-hating shrews in the media and politics: -it's ALWAYS the man's fault, and a career is so much better than being a wife and mother. I've had all sorts of jobs in my life, some good, some grim, and I've had experiences that most men envy, but NOTHING, nothing at all has come close to being a father to my kids. and it's the same for most women who put their hearts and souls into being a good mother and wife. I bet that there are plenty of women who swapped motherhood a career waiting for Mr Absolutely-Perfect ( who, just like Miss Absolutely- Perfect doesn't exist) until they become barren, sitting alone in house surrounded by things must get really old. An empty flat, a cat, and a bottle of booze is a very poor second in life, no matter how rich and important you become.
