Farr Better Ice Cream is an iconic establishment in Ogden, Utah. Since 1929 the red brick ice cream shop on the corner of Grant and 21st Street has been a well known weekend destination where locals enjoy some of their favorite flavors including Green Pineapple, Licorice, Play Dough and Cherry Chocolate Chip.
In this documentary short, former Farr Ice Cream manager Dexter Duane Farr tells about his experiences taking over the business after his father and running it for over 40 years.

Snelgrove in SLC was so good for years 50s,60s,70s,80s.The big twirling double cone advertising,,,also Fernwoods was really good in foothill village 1300 south and foothill drive. And yes Farr,s rounds out the top three.Thsnks for the nice video.

My brother worked in the Farr ice cream factory-slash-warehouse during college when he was a student at Weber State. Cold (obviously!) but the Farrs treated him much better than the Smith's grocery store.

I don't know what it is, but eating a licorice cone and then drinking from their drinking fountain was always the best, most refreshing water. Don't know what the combination was, if it had to do with the licorice flavor combining with the minerals. But I've never tasted better drinking fountain water than how it tasted there after eating a licorice ice cream. So that's usually the flavor I get.
