Being a student of vocal music it is completely unacceptable for me to accept her publicly claiming the bandish to be her father's at 41:50, it's completely wrong to do that, it's a composition of Pt. Jnan Prakash Ghosh and not Ajay Ji's, I mean how do people get the audacity to do this, I am speechless! Moreover, what kind of audience do we have, good lord! Horrible condition indeed!
@@keithhunt5328 I agree with you. He was the Guru of Ajoy Ji. He said whatever Ilearnt, learnt from Guruji only. It may be so she was not sure of the Bandish, as Pandit Ghosh grabbed Pt. Ajoy. No point get angry. It happens in same Gharana.
I'm glad someone calls her out... Plus during such gymnastics, many 'drut' swaras just end up becoming slightly of tune more than often... Okay only for superficials...
@@MohorMom you are saying your pitch perffect 💯 times? Or do u even sing? i can show you multiple videos of legends where they have gone astray once or twice even in simpler progressions at times. Its human especially n really does not make them any less great. , . while singing such a powerful n complex gayaki . Its easy to say these from other side. In this video she literally went a bit off once entire rendition . Dont be so disgraceful. Her music is reflection of the gharana she represents. If you dont enjoy thats alright. Not everything is for everyone. Some stuffs may require a acquired taste n mental capacity to comprehend.
And she is indeed singing the raag . The aesthetics of shyam kalyan is beautifully intact. Whatever you are calling vocal gymnastics are part of a traditional gayaki . Nothing new. Guess you have a limited listening history?
I have the same feeling about Kaushiki’s histrionics . However in this presentation she is slightly refrained which makes it nice . Her capacity, voice and presence is superb. But her audience pleasing tendencies take her out of the mood of the raag many a times. And her superfast gymnastics are not needed when they are off tune. At a slightly slower speed they would lend more beauty. But finally I must say this presentation is better than her recent average presentations in terms of histrionics.
Also others who go off tune due to occasional error, is different from going off tune due to a decision to do it for show and hope that people dont catch it.
