As someone who is not an expert in studio lighting, I find this kind of presentation really useful. When a problem is encountered, it gives me a moment to think "What would I do?", and then observe what the presenter does. So, I'm thinking a bit more than I would if the presenter simply did everything perfectly the first time. I especially love the ones from Frank Doorhof.

I shoot fashion and learned to not use hard lighting and while my images have been great for selling the fashion I make and sell, I so live this video and can't wait to try what I have learned from this video to enhance my images. I love the simple setup and 50mm and an 85mm! Thanks Kevin Focht and B&H for yet another AWESOME video!

One light + 50mm with an 85mm - smart. Simplify the set-up. Angle of lighting is a better focus as the presenter explains. Thanks B&H

what was the name of that sunlight reflector(second dish) that you used?

That reflector was the Bowens Silver Beauty Dish, which is now discontinued. A good alternative to this is the Mola Demi 22" Softlight Reflector (Silver) B&H # MODS220 which can attach to Bowens S type heads with the Mola Speed Ring for Bowens B&H # MOSRBQ. bhpho.to/2CIxN8f bhpho.to/2FvbTZb

Did the second softbox have grid on it at 1:00:00?

I don’t see in the video where Kevin Focht mentions whether or not he is using a grid on the second softbox, though he does make a point of setting both light at the exact same height so that the lighting will be the same. And looking at the photos, it appears that the same quality of light is hitting the model on both sides. So, a basic educated guess would be that he is using grids on both softboxes. If I was worried about the directionality of both lights, knowing that a grid helps control that, I would have grids on both softboxes, not just one. *Christina* AskRU-vid@bhphoto.com

Nice but he touches her several times which is not ok unless discussed prior (which I am sure he did). He should have let us know he ok'ed this with her before.

He only touches her shoulder once or twice. He's in no way making her feel uncomfortable.Sounds as if you may have experienced touching as a problem at one point.
