Rainbow high slumber party set is definitely the top tier design when it comes to colour pellets. When you call a Thing “rainbow high” and make the dolls represent one (1) colour but then have 20 different shades of it cough cough Emi, it makes the whole thing disorganized in my opinion. The slumber party is one colour and one colour ONLY . It’s great

My problem with the NaNaNa teens and the OMG dolls is that the surprise element is completely lost(which I don't mind) but you end up paying twice as much as a regular doll because the extra little accessories or second outfit are considered the surprises in the surprise doll experience.

I was disappointed to see Barbie Extra as a flop since I got an absolutely gorgeous barbie extra doll for christmas(the blue haired skater girl), but seeing the downgrade between each release, I gotta agree. They've released some gorgeous dolls but they're stumbling massively. Makes sense that the cutie I got is from the first wave.

I remember when I was like, religiously against lol entirely. I still absolutely HATE the little baby dolls, but the OMGs and the Tweens are honestly such good dolls! Moonlight BB and Cool Lev are my favorites, especially bc Lev is trans coded as all hell. I wanna give my doll of him top surgery scars so badly!!

The first release played a key role getting me back into collecting so many different dolls that have now infested every corner of my room. I do agree the newer dolls in the line are dropping in quality though.

man the rock angelz repros were so sad :/ i started collecting last year and was hoping the repros would allow me for a budget friendly entry into collecting bratz as an alternative for whatever's going on second hand and i agree on the tweens being a favorite release of the year! i ended up getting all of the series one dolls despite not being a completionist and i think im going to get all of series two as well when they show up in my country. theyre just so cute! and their faces remind me of hamtaro a bit...

honestly when it comes to Barbie extra I feel like Mattel just grabbed a bucket of random barbie clothes and just grabbed clothes for each piece of clothing and accessories blindfolded 💀

As a nanana surprise fan, I have to agree with the pricing being bad. It might have something to do with how they're made, as they don't use regular plastic for their bodies, but they just don't feel worth that much to me. That's why I ALWAYS buy them on sale. I can find the regular ones for around $8-$16 on amazon, and the teens seem to always be on sale.

I personally really enjoyed the new disney designer collection. Ariels and Jasmines clothes look soo intresting and intricate. Seeing disney princesses in new colour schemes/clothing for me is very refreshing.

the Tweens are deservingly in the first place for sure! the line was well thought-out and the series 2 just confirmed it. also, seeing the Hasbro shade made me LOL - the Disney princesses deserve so much better.

I hate the hasbro Princess dolls so much! I had a bunch of princess dolls when I was younger which I think were manufactured by Mattel, but the dresses were real fabric and had actual rhinestones on them. I hate when dolls have painted on clothing or no details on the back

This was a year or so ago, but I went shopping for dolls for gifts and I was really impressed with Barbie. Seeing disabled dolls on the shelves with everyone else, along with the diversity in skin tones and body build, made such a positive impression on me. I appreciate dolls for their collectible appeal, but if I was buying for a kid, I am way more concerned with what that kid will be seeing as a default, positive depiction of, well, people. I'm a little sad to see that it hasn't caught on as a broader trend with other kid-aimed doll companies.

Mermaid High is absolutely my favorite new line of 2021 - they just revealed the new Spring Break line, and they look AMAZING! I can't wait for more from them. Totally agree on Hasbro's Disney dolls too - they're worse than Mattel was doing when they lost the license, so its time for Disney to move on. I think Jakks Pacific might be up next - their Encanto dolls are beautiful, and their line of Winx Club dolls is what got me into collecting in the first place

I hope theirs less negativity in the community and more positivity coming into the new year.

The lol btw dolls have been such a pleasant discovery for me this year!! I think I love them even more than lol OMG dolls- I find them easier to display and they have such GREAT quality while not taking up too much space. They're adorable!!! I feel like the face suits them better as well!! As for the nanana teens the main problem for me was that the... faces never looked right? Like no matter how much I look for one good looking one in stores they just always look awkward, the head just feels too big while the previous ones were just proportionned right to me lol. Anyway amazing video and I agree with you on everything!!!

I’ve been loving almost everything LOL OMG has been releasing the past couple years but the tweens were such a pleasant release to see. Both waves look amazing and I definitely hope we get more tweens and omg guys this year!

I LOVE the Barbie Extra dolls. There have been 4 I didn’t get because they weren’t that appealing to me. I do think Mattel is onto a fun concept with them and hope they up their game there. I know LOL has been madly popular, but I could never reconcile those huge flat painted eyes despite their excellent fashions. I enjoy your videos.

I completely agree with your criticism on Barbie extra. If there's one thing I could comment on that line is the lack or outdated taste of Barbie Extra. The first line was off cuz it felt some of the references and design inspo came from the early 2010's like that was a bit off for me. Then they became a bit gimmicky with a lot of design elements that makes the dolls look confusing and weird. One doll was a mess from head to toe. Compared to some of the designs of MGA (Lol tweens and RH) their designs are focused and dedicated to a specific aesthetic. It also helps doing research on social media sites like tiktok since there's an abundance of fashion there. Also mattel needs an update on the designers cuz some designs are looking oldish and outdated.

I just recently got a NaNaNa doll for a very good discount! Just $8 for her. She stands on her own really well and I really enjoy her a lot more than I had thought I ever would. I bought her because she reminded me of my warrior cats OC that I made when I was a kid, but now I am just really enjoying the doll for what she is. I can say with certainty that I would not have bought her at full price, though. Yikes!

I had a big lol surprise phase for like 2 years, I had one that was pretty basic itself but the og outfit was SO ugly, so I gave her litterally all other lol clothes I have/had and she looked better than the og doll in most of them, so she became my fav. me and my grandma would always play out stories with my toys and 'octavia' (that's how I named her) had the longest ongoing story of them all jolding the 'record' at the story going for over a year which is why I have an emotional attatchment to lol dolls that will probably never fade

Super interesting! I don’t follow dolls super closely but I like listening to your videos. LOL Surprise has really had a great pace for the past several years, but I’m still so surprised how much better they are than the competitors right now. Don’t know if it’s supply line difficulties in general or passion/creativity has died off in the other brands’ designers :/

I actually really love a few of the Comfy Squad princesses! Merida(Wreck it ralph movie outfit), Belle (in the royal tea outfit), and Snow white (wreck it ralph movie outfit) dolls were my favorites. Their feet are the same, almost matching Monster High feet so they can trade shoes! Love it

You know... I might get one of those Rainbow High dolls. Brianna is really cute and I love the pink! Also it's really nice to hear someone talk about the price of dolls nowadays. It really sucks because even though I love these dolls but I really can't see parents wanting to pay for them. I swear dolls used to be way less expensive where I live but now it's just very ridiculous.

I adore the L.O.L. Surprise B.T.W. dolls they are not only insanely detailed for their size and price but they also fit in pretty nicely with the O.M.G. dolls and I have almost all the B.T.W. dolls

Super agree on world by us! I was super iffy on it at the beginning (AG has issues dealing with race "correctly" sometimes) but as it's been out and I've seen the books and message not go totally wrong I really like them! The diverse team AG put together to do the world by us line did an amazing job putting GOOD stories and messages out and the clothes isn't bad there's like two of the preorder outfits I'm kind of not into but it's not bad "tween" stuff that younger kids will also still appeal to

I’d maybe add the Monster High Skullector Beetlejuice and Gremlins to my list in the best of category. Also love the rerelease first wave Bratz. The LOL Tweens are definitely amazing! They're a great size, and my niece loves hers! So do I, TBH! She has I think Cherry BB, or something like that. She then told me she hopes Rainbow High releases tweens too!

Definitely time for Mattel to take back the budget Princess dolls. I know people complain that they looked like barbies, but come on.... Barbie always looks great (millie not included) and these princess dolls are just not it. Besides I actually like that they look like Barbie, because then all the dolls in my collection match.

Congrats on your first video of 2022! 🦋 I didn't get a lot of dolls that came out last year (been focused on getting older things) but Cool Lev might be my number 1 from the year. I'm a sucker for skateboarding bois. Miss Glam could've taken that slot but she came to me lookin so crazy that I had to replace her. I don't regret my Oceana purchase despite the naysayers... I hope to see more from that brand. Honorable mention to Robin Sterling! RH doesn't grab me a lot but, man... Robin is a star. I think you might know how I feel about Barbie Extra so... Not really into the Na Na dolls but otherwise I completely agree! I have one Na Na doll that I got as a gift. It’s cute but they’re expensive. I feel like I’m the only one that doesn’t like the Barbie Extra dolls. 😂 The Lularoe dig omg, amazing. It’s nice to hear someone else not in love with the Extra clothing. I loooooove the Slumber Party girls and the LOL Tweens. Two lines I’ve rushed to find and buy. Love them! The Tweens are so well articulated for such small dolls.

I agree that Na Na Na dolls are way overpriced, and difficult to display. For me the main draw is that they are great sensory dolls for me. Their weight and size is perfect to hold for comfort, both the teens and the originals :)

The 80s barbies are my fav. I just love the retro vibes. I was born in 89, but had older sisters so I got a lot of 80s culture. The Rainbow High is a line I only learned about like . . . yesterday, and am thinking of getting one. Love the cheer ones and the spring line. As far as Barbie Extra . . . I really, really love it. but it is totally not what everyone likes or wants.

my lol omg moonlight arrived today! after everyone leaves for work i'll be washing and restyling her box hair lmao my tween is supposed to arrive tomorrow! not sure her name, but i got the retro themed one with the black and white afro puffs. she's so cute, i'm so excited to have her. over the next couple of weeks i'm planning on getting a few more of the tweens tbh, especially if i love the retro one as much as i think i will from product pictures. lol omgs are sometimes a hard sell on me just because i love a good monochromatic theming like rainbow high has, but aside from maybe jade and one or two of the series 3 dolls, i don't know if i'm going to collect a ton more. as a bonus, i left a comment on that giveaway community post a week or two ago about how i ended up getting a georgia bloom from a friend minutes before seeing the post! i wanted to leave another comment kind of gushing about how sweet my friend is, she knew i was in love with moonlight bb but wasnt sure if i had ordered her, so as part of my christmas present she got me moonlight's little sister. so excited to display them together!!

With the NNN Surprise Teens, I found them expensive- but I started seeing them at Ross (Highest they were was 9.99), and bought them all. :) I would recommend checking places like that for these expensive flops :)

The pricing of dolls may not directly correlate to the worker’s compensation and workplace quality, but that is a super important thing to be concerned about in any industry. I do get how expensive dolls can get pretty inaccessible. But i don’t think my right to buy pretty things should come at the expense of the health and safety of exploited workers.

I have a weird nostalgia for 80’s barbie even though I was born in the 90’s because we used to thrift in my childhood so I had a lot of the earlier barbies and one of my fave movies was barbie and the rockers because I got it on VCR from a charity store and I was obsessed with it

At first I kind of questioned the LOL tweens placement, but considering I actually really want a lot of them and I personally can’t stand the LOL face sculpts, that probably says a lot for how great the overall designs are.

I really love the Mermaid High dolls and am looking forward to the spring break dolls in 2022. Admittedly the na na na na teens dolls have the only na na na na design I'm interested in because I love bats, but that's it. I think Disney needs to give JAKKS Pacific a chance at fully running the show on the Disney Princess doll front. I still haven't been able to get any of the RH sleepover dolls. The tweens are stylistically the best thing to come out of the LOL brand imo. They have the best face sculpt and are so nicely proportioned.

I love the lol tweens but I really hope that they go back to packaging like series 1 over series 2. Them having whole rooms that doubled as playsets was both great bang for your buck and helped the dolls feel even more alive and full of personality to me. Only getting to see a tiny corner of the series 2 dolls' rooms in an awkward corner of the packaging that can't really be used as a playset is just disappointing.

The Rainbow High Slumber High girl in blue has been on "Clearance" at my walmart for a year now...for $35...that's clearance? That's WAY too expensive for a play doll.

Ok I understand this may not be the most popular opinion but, I don’t love Rainbow high! I think they are pretty and nice quality but, they just don’t do very much for me! Especially with the lack of diversity all the girls look pale, very similar, and the fashion’s aren’t blowing me out of the water! Maybe I’ll eventually be moved to like them more but, as of now Monster high will stay my favorite!

9:25 Rainbow high dolls are just so so so beautiful. I don't own any unfortunately. A little too pricy for me. I'm currently watching the Rainbow high series on Netflix and I'm just in awe at how amazing the fashion is. Not doing myself any favours for watching it tho lol only makes me want the dolls more.

I kind of wish Disney would just boot the third party doll manufacturers and just make the Disney Store dolls more widely available. Here in Australia, we only have access to the Hasbro dolls since we don't have a Disney Store site (we can order from the US or UK sites, but the shipping is astronomical). I don't see the need for Mattel or Hasbro or whichever other company to be push out their garbage dolls, but my guess is that Disney outsources because of issues with scale in production and distribution, but Disney could just increase their production it'd be so great. I've been resistant to the OMG dolls because I really, really, really disliked those original LOL Surprise baby dolls, but the aesthetic works for me so much more on an adult body, and the fashions are so detailed and fun that I'm starting to come around, slowly. I've only bought one, but I really like the NaNaNa teens. I really appreciate the different approach and I find them very cute. Their individual designs are a bit hit or miss for me, but when it's a hit it's a hit, and overall they're fun.
