I’m confused by the skinny jean comments 😂 I always feel like skinny jeans pair well with almost any top or any shoe, but flares are much harder to style. 🤷🏻♀️
Really? I feel like flares go with everything because they make everything pop with skinny jeans if you don’t have a top that actually pops your outfit just looks kind of basic you know
You can wear baggy or tight tops with skinnies, I feel like it looks weird if you wear baggy with flares. I don't know though, I haven't worn flared jeans in at least 10 year lol
@@TheMissValkyrie We do also have SML type sizes in Australia, and they have them in Japan, but they are totally different sizes. I wear an XS in Australia and and M in Japan. The actual size is the same. Ha.
i’m an american who 100% doesn’t understand the size chart for jeans. it makes no sense. when i’m shopping i just grab a few different sizes and try them all on 💘
Loved that you were wasting that scammer’s time, but always be careful to avoid saying “yes”, “no”, and numbers. Voice recordings can be used to authorise fraudulent payments, particularly if they already have other information about you.
The reality is American sizing isn't standardized at all. In one brand I could be a 16 and in another 22 and it's so frustrating. I hate American sizing so much and it's one of the reasons I learned to start sewing my own clothes.
I'm a curvy, thick girl. In Hydraulic jeans, I'm a size 18. In another brand, I'm a size 16. In another brand, I'm a size 20. But I can also fit size 15 and 22 jeans. It's all ridiculous.
First thing; in america odd numbers are for junior sizing, which mean the cut around the hips is straight. Even numbers are for women's, which gives more room in the hip area. This is due to the idea that when ladies hit puberty, there hips become wider to make room for child baring. Also...Usually for model photos, they have the model put on a larger size and then pin the back of the garment, to fit her body perfectly. So please dont get discouraged if an item doesn't fit you like it looks on the model, it's not real. ❤ Also, as an American, I can tell you our sizing has no standards at all. I could be a 1x in one brand/ style, all the way up to a 4x in another brand/ style. Its crazy.
@@AmmyWolfable it's not juniors as in kids, its juniors as in not a womanly/ hippy figure. There are many grown women who dont have wider hips, so they dont need a wider cut. If we look at our two beauties in this video for example one has wider hips, the other doesn't. And it doesn't matter if you are plussize or not. There are plussize junior cuts from 13-25.
Skinny jeans make me look like a chicken. I wear them very rarely with certain outfits or in winter with boots, but overall, I much prefer flared jeans. They're far easier to style for me and look much better with my proportions
Shelby Zealand ohh that makes sense! Although I don’t know why fashion nova uses odd numbers when the majority of their jeans are for adults? 🤔 I’ve only bought one pair of jeans from them for this reason and that was after analysing the size chart for about 10 minutes haha
came down into the comments to see if someone had commented this already. Jr sizes and Regular sizes in Women's clothing in America are two COMPLETELY different things. I'm a curvy 12/14 in regular jeans, but a 13/15 in Jr's sizing. (and the reason i can be between sizes is because of the cut- often times higher-waisted jeans have more stretch, so I am a smaller size in them). I'm also 4' 11", so no matter what, I have to chop off a good 6" of whatever pair I buy and re-hem them once I get home :/ All those factors make buying jeans a total crapshoot- recently, I needed a plain black pair for work. I went to Old Navy & tried on 20 different pairs (no im not exaggerating). TWO of them fit me correctly. Needless to say I was very frustrated lol
At 5'2" those black jeans would swallow me whole. I could probably make a whole new pair from what would have to be cut off the length. But they do look great on you both!
I went out shopping by myself once and I tried on a pretty dress that was my size, but the zipper was terribly made. It zipped halfway up and stopped. Then I gave up trying to zip it up so I decided to zip down and just get out of the dress. IT WOULDN’T ZIP DOWN!! To make things worse the zipper decided to do the stupid thing where it comes undone at the part you already zipped (you all know what I’m talking about) and I still couldn’t zip it down. Mind you it’s one of those tiny zippers that you can barely get a hold of and slips out of your fingers when you hold it. I started getting claustrophobic and hot. Then I sat down and had tears in my eyes cause I was ready to cry. I sat there for a good 20 minutes thinking about my entire life. Then I decided to give it another go even if I had to rip it slightly. It eventually came off and I decided that won’t try on the rest of the stuff and just walked out. It was definitely a stressful and scary experience which I know it may sound silly, but that feeling of being trapped with no one there to help you is really scary.
American sizing is also notorious for “vanity sizing” where the numbers don’t mean much and it’s mostly so people can say they wear a size 2 or something ridiculous. When you shop American sizing it’s a crap shoot and if you’re in store you have to grab several sizes if you don’t know the brand.
They do the same for bra's, it seems. My friend is convinced she wears a DD (per VS) but when she got actually sized she was a C. She is still convinced the lady was wrong but I'm like, no, VS lies. lol
It is a total nightmare if you have hips but a smaller waist. That's why I only but American Eagle curvey styled jeans. The only jeans that fit both my waist and hips.
@@leelouwitchypoo for sure! According to VS I'm a C cup but off other stores I'm anything from an A-B depending on the bra. VS also has hella padding in all their bras so you've gotta take 3/4 of the size off cos the cup is full of cotton
My mom had to cut me out of a dress once. I was sure I could fit in a dress I bought for a wedding shower, I got it zipped but it sure as heck wasn’t coming off. She cut it right down the back with her sewing scissors. We laughed so hard, I looked like a sausage bursting out of its casing. 🤣🤣🤣
Aw! Bless, I had to have someone unzip me out of a stupid bridesmaid dress. I had gained a bunch of weight after being in the hospital for a week and on high dose steroids 🙄 the girl said I had the lace imprinted into my skin 💀💀💀
The ones with the large holes are generally good for those who have tattoos or marks that they want to frame and to show of the tattoos without having to wear mini skirts or really small shorts
Tiasha looks amazing in everything - absolutely repping for the plus size girls! How is she not a plus size model for all brands?!!! Would totally cut the black jeans. The fit is sooo nice for her shape, so worth losing the flare. I love Alex’s creativity (when she was talking about the jeans)! So clever!
Damn, Tiasha looks smoking hot in those first black jeans! I really hope she fixes the length issue so she can wear them! Also, how come Archie sometimes attacks and bites her? Is he being territorial? 🤔 Edit: I laughed so hard at the ending 😂
Birds are assholes lol and based on her videos, Id say Archie doesnt like anyone other than Alex and Dan. Some birds are very protective over their people. My cockatiel hates everyone but me, my green cheek only hates my brother.
I know it's "the bird stays", but maybe change it to "both the bird and Tiasha stay" because I love them both so much, so happy to see you doing so many videos together ❤️
THIS, this is the content I signed up for. Your friend is everything, absolutely gorgeous and relatable. I want to always see the clothes on her as well. This comparison idea renews interest in this channel for me. I was getting sick of Japan themed videos.
Re: the cancer jeans - pretty much EVERYTHING in California has a prop 65 warning attached. Disneyland has warnings at the gates. It's a general blanket thing, I swear.
To go along with that, SciShow here on RU-vid made a video explaining why California law demands the blanket statement. Basically everything with a high enough dose causes cancer since cancer is a mutation of cell growth and such. Cancer itself is a blanket definition, the term does not necessarily mean the kind of cancer that causes a terminal illness.
@@silverkyre As someone who's 4'11 I can tell you petite sizes would still too long for them because they're made for 5'3 people as well haha. I either have to get my jeans tailored or roll them. (Overalls/jumpsuits are also impossible!)
When ordering American sizes in pants, if you are short, order petite. Sometimes even petite length is too long for me. Plus sizes are notorious at thinking all us plus size gals are tall.
I'm 4' 11"- the problem is, a lot of stores don't HAVE petite sizing. and when they do, they assume just bc you're short you must be skinny. Very difficult to find anything over a size 8 in petite.
lmao I say all the time that brands apparently think you can be tall OR plus size but not both! I’m 6’1 and I have a hell of a time finding things long enough!
True, when I shop I have to by shorts or petites even at 5.4". Or I have to hem everything I purchase. Which is part of the reason why I just have given up and shop at Torrid where I know I can get pants in my size and in short and they fit right out of the store which is amazing.
I feel like those jeans with the huge panels cut out would look nice with a pair of fishnet or lace tights underneath. Also, I would LOVE to see what you do DIY-wise with the second pair of jeans!
'These pants come up to my boobs!' Welcome to literally every day of my life as someone whose 5'1". 3/4 length pants are full length on me. Also, I think the jegging material jeans looked the best. On both of you. The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't doing that thing the other jeans were doing to Tiasha's stomach (and most pairs of pants do to me) and I was like '!!!'
As a guy, I don't understand why women's sizes aren't like men's sizes. Like, I'm a 36-34 because my waist is 36 inches and my inseam in 34 inches, all I need to do to know my size is get out a measuring tape (or string and a ruler). But as far as I know in US women's sizes, I could be anywhere from an 8 to a 12 depending on the store, like wtf is an 8???
One store I went to had a 3 inch different on the waist from a different store for the same size pants and the rest of it fit the same. Guys get pockets and measurements that make sense?
@@smurfettmm999 not in jail sentences we don't. We get away with a lot of crime because of the 'women can do no wrong' as a result of women being more trustworthy and innocent in *most* cultures (as a result of the fair maiden, purity expectation from 100 years ago+)
Nothing gives me as much anxiety as getting stuck in try-on clothing in a dressing room. The amount of panic and sweating, and then I can’t breathe... I come out looking like I rolled out of a haystack.
I got stuck in a dress one time....it was stuck over my head and my arms were stuck in it too so I couldn't get it off, I started feeling claustrophobic real fast.....had to call my dad into the dressing room to pull me out and that dress ripped when he pulled 😔💀
katertot17 I went prom dress shopping at this really really REALLY fancy designer store and got stuck in one and had a panic attack. My mom heard me crying and came in the dressing room to see me in a massive jumbled mess of fabric in the floor
I once got stuck in a dress I had bought on AliExpress.. it was gorgeous and I wanted it to fit so badly.. but also my boyfriend was there.. luckily he was there because he ended up having to rip it apart :') I can tell you that's not as sexy as you'd imagine it to be :')
Ada haha me too. I only really wear skinny jeans. I find them easy to pair with like a baggy tshirt or a collared shirt and my flats or converses. But I don’t know much about fashion anyway so just throw on whatever is comfortable and I want to wear
As someone who is a Direct Support Staff for Folks with disabilities and mental illnesses, and considered an essential worker, I greatly appreciate your thanks! And I know my whole company would as well. Our folks absolutely need to have us around. The stay at home order is really stressing them out because most of them are having a hard time wrapping their minds around the situation. So we have set up plans to still be able to safely get them out of their house. It's definitely not ideal, but they truly need it. Also, if anyone has questions about those plans, please feel free to ask. I know that is a difficult thought right now. And last, thank you so much for putting out the content that you do. We need it now more than ever.
That cancer warning on the star jeans is slapped on anything from or potentially going to California. It even is on buildings in California. I wouldn't worry about it
I love fashionnova jeans, but their sizing is alllll over the place. I can never predict how they’ll fit me. Also, I love love love these size comparison vids!
I'd love to see you try more smaller brands too - I think you'd love Miss Patina and Collectif (the latter is one of the bigger vintage inspired brands whose designs often get copied on Wish etc. They have plenty of pastel coloured stuff this season!). 🙂
After your clothing sale for the bushfires, where everybody saw how much stuff you had to sell from all those videos, it suprises me that people still think you return anything xD
Doing a diy with that extra pair of jeans in an amazing idea!! I'd love to see the process and the resoult, could you make a video about it?? Maybe for your second channel? (If you haven't done it yet, of course, since this video is two months old x'DDDD).
Kittikat4124 I know, I was looking for a dress to wear to a friends wedding, I found a dress that I loved and it looked like it would fit, but I was in the dressing room and I was okay getting it on, but I couldn't get it off. The saleswoman was watching me try it on and totally selling it to me, but then she saw me having a hard time getting out of it so she came over to help and I became so upset because the looks on her face was telling me that she was upset with me wanting to try it on, like she was cursing under her breathe at me. I felt like I wanted to die because I don't usually go out to these pricey stores because I know what I fit in in target, Kmart, big w, so because of my social anxiety I usually go into a store, see the clothes and buy them without staying very long, but I was stuck in that dress for almost a half hour and I was just dying inside and I was silently crying (lucky it got caught so the lady couldn't see my face while I was crying). It was so traumatising that I just went straight home and bought a dress from boohoo and asos.
I’ve lost My two closest Friends and everyone else I’ve had friendships with we’ve haven’t chilled in ever. Seeing both of you interact and have a Genuine Friendship Makes me Miss my Two Gals Soo much! 💖✨
I love videos with you and your friends. There’s always such great chemistry! Ladies be glad you’re the sizes you are. I’m anywhere from a size 000US to a size 2US. It really depends on the brand. I guess I’m a size 4AUS. Tasha is 100% right. Of course you return most of the things you buy, you do it for work. I don’t keep all the stuff I get at work either. They would really frown upon that. Thankfully you don’t have to worry about that. You CAN keep what you get. That ending was gold! I love people messing with scammers!!!
So, uh, the cancer thing.. I swear to God EVERYTHING is known to the state of California to cause cancer. I bought a pair of goggles for my Chemistry class that said it on the packaging 🙃
That weird shape that you guys had with the "mom jeans" is called camel-toeing its not flattering at all and personally you just run away from those jeans/ or any pants in general that does it
It’s not though. Camel toe is when a women’s bottom half is too tight and ‘hugs’ their groin area. Those jeans created that shape from excess material jutting out.
I love your vids. I love how honest you are about reviews. I like how you helped me understand how sponsored ship works in RU-vid. (Since most don't say how they feel or if they are sponsored) You helped me look at online shopping in a different way. I also love the bird, very unique. 💕
The tall ass jeans 🙃, I'm barely 5'4" and the same size as Tiasha. I find all jeans to be way too long, I buy ankle cut ones so they are close to short enough. Lmao
C Stone I’m 5’7 but that’s still too tall for a majority of jeans. I’m sorry it must be so much harder for you but I bet you look awesome when you find some :)
I love you guys! I've missed your content. And I love Tiasha. Her energy is amazing and her body positivity is inspiring. Stay healthy and thank you for posting?
Thank you for the "thank you" in the beginning of this video. It's nice to know some people are thankful for us essential retail workers, and not behave like crabby snots who think they need to be treated like kings. Sorry, I needed to vent. It's been rough. But thanks for these videos as well, Alex. They do make my life a little bit brighter.
lovinani7 I’m sorry people are acting like children, I hope things get a bit better for you at work and know that so many people appreciate you coming in and doing your job during this time. 💕
We need our essential retail workers so much right now. I'm so sorry people are being horrible. You are keeping everyone fed and supplied and I'm super grateful.
Thank you for editing you unpacking then immediately trying them! I very much prefer it to unboxing everything then trying everything on! Much easier to keep up with
