Hey! I'm thinking of applying to fashion business management and was wondering, do you need to submit a portfolio for that major or only for fashion design?

@@Lilawhen I don’t know if u figured it out but in the website there is a list of majors that need a portfolio but fashion business management isn’t one of them!

usually people take fashion design first and then switch to fbm:) so yes😊

I have around a 3.5 GPA, a 1370 SAT, and I live in New Jersey. Is it difficult for out of state students to get financial aid?

FIT is harder to get financial aid for due to it being a state school but make sure to apply for scholarships and FASFA! I wouldn't say it wont happen but it's a lot more likely to get money through FASFA:)

Heyy!! Love your videos I just had two questions 1) Do i need math proficiency to get admitted to the course? 2) Do i have to have science as my subject in high school or can i be of commerce bg and still get admitted to the course?

Valerie Keutmann definitely fashion forecasting, fashion styling and product development! those give you variation on what you could potentially go into careerwise

you're going to need pencils, pins, muslin (wait to hear which type from your teacher), some micron pens, and certain markers but I'd check with your teachers before purchasing anything bc each teacher is different:)

Is a FBM degree the same as a Fashion Merchandising degree? I would like to be a fashion buyer but I don’t know if a FBM degree is not as credible as a FM degree! Thanks please please answer!

Lila's Star FBM used to be called FM! FBM is perfect if you want to become a buyer

please please do a vdo on why did you change majors? at one point in the vdo you said you were gonna do both design and business! which one did you first choose and why did you make that shift ? can we do both once you are accepted ? Are a GRE and Ielts required for international students for joining FBM? Also, I am from an engineering background and want to pursue the business of fashion. Is it still possible?

according to their website GRE is not required and they dont have any prerequisite for business major for AAS and BFA , there is some criteria for MPS i guess! I am also from an engineering background and i want to apply for the FBM or Design major, confused rn!

kim its not super difficult to switch but its a whole reapplying process to see if you get in or not, you cant really go back and forth though

i love this vid, i’m going to fit in 2 months for amc, this was super informative! what’s the visitation rules like? i know visitors have to sign in and your roomate has to approve it also but what if the visitor is just another student that lives in another building, do they have to go thru the entire check in process also or can they just swipe their student card to come in? just wondering because i’m probably going to nagler but all my friends are trying to get into alumni

Lizbeth C thank you for replying and being willing to help 🥺 i actually an attending cc right now and have just had troubles deciding what i wanna do with my life but i really love fashion so i wanna try and get a career in the fashion industry and fashion marketing sparked my interest! But i think im gonna just email the uni i wanna plan to transfer to and see what classes would be best. I did see a Q&A video about fashion marketing and they said that you can get an associates degree in anything and then transfer to do fashion so im hoping that is what i could do but im gonna contact the school to better find out!

How long is fashion business management bachelor program is? What grade of Alevel need for scholarship?

Mahnoor Bhatti for fbm the associates program is 2 and bachelors is 2! so 4 in total if you want your bachelors

we have digital design as a required class but for fashion drawing classes we have to draw with pencil and paper:/ hope that helps!:)

check the website! i did a pre college program this winter (all virtual) and it was fun ! they have winter and spring so i suggest looking at spring 2021 ;)

Hi you may not see this but I’m 14 and I’m a freshman. I really want to go to fashion school but is there anything I should do in high school to go to fashion school? Do you need to make a portfolio if you want to go into Fashion management.

hey girlie, i remember being a freshman in highschool and had so many questions. you dont need a portfolio for the FBM degree but do anything you can that will help you when it comes to your application. my highschool offered buisness and fashion design classes so i took those and also got really involved with local agencies and started creating and doing charity work. it sounds like alot but when you love it...time goes by really fast. HOPE THIS HELPS

Hi Tori, I'm going to get my bachelor degree in fashion marketing and communication this year (Esmod France), and I would like to continue with a master at FIT.However, it seems like they do not offer a master in this branch.Is it really the case ?
