I think we're currently stuck in the microcosm of "trend" vs. "essential". 1s and Vans are just lifestyle pieces I don't see ever disappearing. Bussdown jewelry, tight pants, COOKED Forces, and a lot of older fashion houses pushing sneakers that look like staple sneakers like 1s, dunks, or notable platform sneakers....probably done if not coming to a close soon imo.
@JadonGrundy nah fasho, kinda like what you said about the Suicoke's. I do think that in the near future, we're gonna see even more DIY brands that will continue to make some pretty solid game changers. Oh, and idk if you already have it in the tuck, but do you think you could drop some summer cargo recs in an upcoming vid?
They are but they’re played out and corny because EVERYONE is wearing them especially all the teenage white girls. I don’t like wearing them anymore because they’ve become a “lifestyle” sneaker
@@shady4chi Yeah I now tend to wear some of my other jordan models. Rocking the 3's 13's 6's 7's 11's 12's are the way to go. I also like the 4's but most would agree they are played out not as bad as the 1's but played out.
Jordan 1s are TIMELESS which is part of the reason they have such a broad appeal. It's like saying the IPhone is dead because a billion people have one. Classics CAN fall in and out of favour, like he said, but they literally NEVER die.
Agree to all. That’s why as I’ve gotten older, I choose to stay away from pure trends and seasonal items. Just keep unique things that can last a long time. Some of my favorite pieces, I’ve had over 5 years. On a different note… yes jordans and dunks are over saturated. However, jordans will always be around. Even if not on this level. He was and is the greatest player ever. He’s not just a clothing brand. The main chicago 1’s are one of the most famous shoes ever made. Classic. I have mine cause I’ve always been a Jordan fan. Through the 80s n 90s.
Jordan 1's and dunks are hardly a "trend"... after being relevant for close to 40yrs, at this point they are timeless. They may have been a "trend" for those that try to look cool... but for us stomp down sneaker cats... they're classics
@@badkarma8689 for example; carhartt has been a classic brand for forever. But once someone or a group of people make “workwear” the “new look” carhartt becomes a trending brand at the moment
I kinda feel like supreme is turning into a streetwear ralph lauren per say. Aspirational price point. Quality garments, accesible and straight to the point. When u cop ralph u know what you are getting. same thing with supreme.
I forget that outside of California Vans were legit just "trendy" for a while. Here its just built into the core of California fashion lol, everyone from skaters to Emily Oberg clones has a pair to beat around.
I swear the new balance trend just came and went. Legit 2022-2023. I think that dunks take is crazy, but i agree with your take on 1s. I dont know why the 1s go so re-hyped out of nowhere to begin with.
I still rock Jordan 1's and I copped a pair of the Nu Skool vans. I mainly wear them in my rotation because they fit my aesthetic. I don't knock it but I'm more into subtle pieces and not the super trendy looks. I guess you can say I'm a "traditional" streetwear kinda dude. But I agree long story short.
People definitely can still wear all these things. They just dead as a “trend”. Honestly trends should mean nothing to us anyway, just wear what you like!
This I've always been the leader never follow to give u insight I was rocking the OG sbs in 05 when nobody was rocking them they all were rocking j's AF1's lebrons, an air max etc.. an i still rock them... originality an well put together fit will be ome trendy but set the TREND IS key 🎯👍🏼💪🏻🔥
Hello from Oregon, home of Nike. Wow, interesting video. I'll be 50 this Christmas and I can say many trends have came and gone. I was wearing Vans back in CA in the 1980's. Have always loved Nike and have a great collection too. I will say, a summer Flip-Flop is pretty much timeless for me. As far as other brands? Maybe Convers or Berkinstocks? Other than that, your spot on. Thank you for the video.
Jordan 1s, dunks and vans aren’t trends. Neither are 350v2s, that’s essential footwear that works with house clothes all the way to the corporate world. Those will not fall off
Supreme is dead because of reselling activities, when u look at the price tag, bruh , with that money I can even get items from a “real” designer brand .
It’s popular in NYC too, Supreme pretty much died here though you don’t see the pieces reselling for large amounts of money anymore or long lines of people waiting to cop pieces
You still see these Diors pretty often over here in Munich but the Jordan 1 Hype is definitely cooling down, a lot of clean pairs are currently sitting...☝
Thanks for this, its the most accurate 2023 dead trend list i’ve seen. I’ve seen other list calling out samba, birks boston, and 2002r and im like “how? its still clearly worn by the fashion-forward community. Yall must not understand what dead means.”💀
Vans fell off because they used to be $40 and now they are $100 (in Canada atleast)… I think you shoulda put palace on this list, I still like the brand but it’s no where now
Bro you must be super young. Because Vans been in style since way back. Hadn't you ever heard of The "Vans" song?! "Got my vans in but they look like sneakers" 🎶 c'mon now.
This is an example how people don't think for themselves anymore.... some basically follow the narrative and cant think for themselves...they lack self identification one of the reasons marketing techniques are so successful ...if celebrities started wearing shoes from Payless shoe store all the followers would wear them ....Ima stay original and keep my individual identification
Ngl anyone that is or I see wearing these things/ brands in 2023 are the real ones that always wore it cause they liked how it looked on them or they felt comfortable in it.
I love when styles go out of trend because that's how i dress. I create my own lane. I love when people say "people dont wear that anymore." Ill rather wear what i like.
Maaaaaan, while this is sociologically important, good items and good style is in the vision of the person wearing it. People following trends are just reactive robots. I don't personally wanna learn how to be a uniform ass robot. People who break trends are usually people who make decisions and break the mold because they have a vision. Picking which one you gonna be is key to your own future.
Jordan 1s and dunks became a trend to certain folks, but to a lot of us, Jordans and dunks were never a trend…it’s just what we have rocked for years…and still will
Vintage supreme and other stuff from supreme drops is still HEAT, but the typical box logo crap is just old and overworn, not to say they dont have a piece or two in their drops is still GAS
Supreme is still lit imo.. they still push numbers on certain items. New Balance wave was always a no go for me 😂 Yeezy 350.. sad to see them come to an end :/
This popped up In. My video feed..cool video..good content my brother salute...I'm the last person to know about my fashion..whats in and what's not.. I'm 36 and still like the stuff I grew up with😅..which at the time was ecko...Rocawear...marithe gibaud jeans...Sean john...ecko is my favorite brand of all time really..outside of Supreme and jordan 1 I didn't really know half of the stuff in the video was..so it's good to learn something...
You’re wrong about NB. That brand is taking the game over! The 550’s are popular because they’re cheap 😂. Most dope NB be 200 & 🆙. Also dunks will never die. Sell out every time
U buggin, I still be rocking' Jordan 1's. For life. Still rock my 350's every now and then considering they're bone color. The rest of the things on ya list I could care less about. Sweatsuits and J's for me. Trucker caps. Custom Tees.
Bro, essentially streetwear is dead. Even now, there isn’t any overarching trends, it’s all died down. Everyone’s just into high end fashion pieces now
Streetwear still has its core. But yea it’s not as trendy as it used to be. High end stuff is a trend, but it’s pretty un accessible for the average person, so idk I go back and forth with that thought
@@JadonGrundy My theory is it's dying because celebs like Kanye, Asap Rocky or Tyler aren't into fashion like that anymore. Ye's running around in homeless attire and Yeezy socks while asap rocky hasn't been a trendsetter in years. Also, Tyler who's credited for popularising Supreme hasn't been seen in Supreme in what seems like a decade, and none of the new musicians are really into fashion like that. That said, I only see it as a good thing because the prices aren't crazy anymore lol
Dunks are still selling out pandas and are still top selling shoe in 2023. Jordan 1s and vans old skool are classics that never die. They just aren't reselling for crazy. AJ1 still sell out just not instantly and resell for triple like before. But all 3 shoes will be out in full force this summer and fall. Saying these shoes arent trendy is like saying Air force 1 or Samba have no hype lol.
People wear them because they bought them when they were a trend. They died as the hype trendy thing to buy. They aren’t dead as a whole, just as a trend
supreme is dead for people who never skated but liked hype, ngl this season was pretty rough but there were still diamonds in the rough for me, ill always buy what i like, sometimes trends screw me over, now its easier for me to get what i want haha
The ripped straight leg skinny jeans are played out. I’m the only one in my city wearing the baggy style that’s in now everyone else still wearing the biker jeans like it’s still 2018. I’m surprised they’re still a thing
I feel like fast fashion like shien will fall off hard soon if it hasnt already. I never have seen someone wear shien stuff. Yet i see fast fashion all over social media.
npc lookin ahh the 11s and 12s ar way more comfortable and better materials. The 11s are known to be the BEST ever made for Jordan brand the 4s are pathetic
@@JadonGrundy the space jam 11s and concords look better than any 1s or 4s except the off white and military 4s he's probably 12 no one can afford the concords or space jams just because nike doesn't make or push out a shoe doesn't mean it is out of style. Anyone wearing the concords gets more eyes and turned heads
@@JadonGrundy thats the problem, the vastness and accessibility. People are all just looking the same or going on pintrest, ig or whatever and just copying and pasting a style. I liked when you actually had to have style and things felt more unique because you didn’t see 1000 clones on the internet
Saying Old Skools fell off is like saying Converse and AF1s fell offs. They’re classics just like those, but I’m from Cali and everyone wears Vans Authentics, Slip Ons and Old Skools
dunks and jordan 1s are wild to say they're "out" when like 90 percent of the younger population is rocking em or is chasing a pair if they dont have one already. I'd say the "fashion" foward people are just bored of the silhouette and want a change hence why the 2000s styled running shoes are in atm. 1s will always be a staple in streetwear and just fashion in general people just overdid the hype of them and it's died off. Think of it how people think of converse, I wouldn't call it a "trend" but people have just accepted it as an everyday staple to ppls style, same can go w 1s and even dunks now.
Yes I definitely know a couple of dudes at the corner store with Nike mask on and I'm so tired of seeing it I ain't gone lie to you. I mean I understand that most dudes really do have people that's looking for them but I no way everybody got opps. But I guess people got certain things they like, I just never got why damn near everybody was wearing these mask 🤦
Don’t just not wear something because people tell you it’s dead a lot of this stuff will never truly die just not as hyped anymore witch is good because it’s more affordable
Supreme is better now to me it’s more than just a bogo T ppl really wear there good clothes and not just a bogo T that kinda just felt like a yt no effort merch
bootleg fashion peaked hard but I've been on bootleg fashion since i was lil since swapmeets always had some crazy things going on. Kinda funny to see it get gentrified and tossed out it's like when champion become cool in 2016 went from walmart brand to everyone wanting it.
