jacob crawford I have seen plenty of turbo Civics that would beat my cars. Do they look great? No. Sound great? No. Are they exclusive? No. Is it comfy, reliable, respected? No. It does ONE thing OK. It can roll race. That doesn't earn my respect. Who cares though? You don't need my respect. If you're having fun with what you built or bought, then great. Cars are subjective. My Viper is slow by today's standards. I don't care. It looks awesome, sounds awesome (to me) and it fits me very well. I will love it no matter how many Civics beat it.

I wish the drag strip here in Las Vegas did roll racing. it's such a bitch to quick launch my VTR. Still for a car that weighs 3000lbs with me in it and has 231whp and 307ftlb, 14.1 @ 100.4mph isn't bad.

Why do they ride the rev limiter? I thought that spinning your tires was counterproductive to going fast.

They ride the limiter because that’s where they make the most power and because they are spinning, they aren’t spinning because they are riding the limiter. They ride the limiter because if they shift into the next gear before they get grip they are gonna bog down and get taken out of the peak of the power band

Yeah man. That's actually about right. We did a very similar swap recently into a heavier em1 and we went 12.6 on the quarter with it. I see this stuff all the time at the track, very simple all motor set ups making around 250whp running 11s.

+FrequencyOfThought lol I got a 95 cx hatch, the back seats were trash from previous owners so I took them out, then for work I needed more space and took out the plastic panels, there's moving blankets on the floor now, aka all gutted in the back. But yeah even before all that the cx is a lightweight death model, but it's fun too

a rolling start all but makes obsolete the launch technology the carmakers fitted these cars with in the first place. It also takes the reaction time of the driver out of the equation. Basically, it makes the drag race part of this pointless, but you do get to hear some sweet sounds of supercars at full tilt.
