More tailwheel flying with my friend Steve, this time flying low and fast over the watery sandbanks of Pilling Sands, near Blackpool. I've never felt speed like that before: 145 knots/167 mph at 200 feet! Or, for the metric among us, 267 km/h at 61 m.
I've left the metrics out of this edit; it looked so cinematic already and I didn't want to detract from that. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I loved making it.
Once again: I'll never apologise for the Blues music.

Very Nice edit. Most of my low level was PA25's. I had a flight when I was in the RAF in a Dutch F16 over the North Sea at 500ft at Mach 1.1 (in the rear seat) and I must say my back side was eating the seat until we went vertical to 20,000 ft in very little time.

Is that you’re RV-7? I’m looking to buy one and interested in videos showing realistic cross-country traveling including baggage or camping equipment.

It belonged to my friend Steve, who has since sold his share in favour of a single-seat aero machine.

Only near people or man-made structures.

That looked like a fun flight and the sound track worked well! Smiled at the hit the dislike button twice (by the way no card links shown on this viewing?)

It was one of the best flying experiences I've had so far! I've added the link cards, though I can't seem to add them in different corners (other than in the last 20s). Oh well! Glad you liked it :)

It's a gorgeous wee plane! I bet it's still quite expensive to own. It has a retro look to it. As smooth as a flying dolphin... So much I almost expected you to dive in the sea briefly and come out again as dolphins do. Nice one!

You'd be surprised. Beyond the initial purchase, shared between a few pilots, the fixed monthly costs are very low (as is the hourly rate). Permit to fly/experimental aircraft are much more affordable to keep, maintain and fly.

I've never heard controllers say the region code + the last two of the tail number. In the US they sometimes use the last 3 characters of the tail number. For example, for N84625 they might just say 625, but never N25. Is this a EASA thing or just the controller being different?
@DeadReckoner
@DeadReckoner 5 лет назад
It's standard out here. In the US they tend to assume all aircraft are from there, so the N is implied. Normally, controllers here use the full reg at first, then shorten it in subsequent messages, but always retain the G-XX format.

In the US the end or November is left off. However you would lead it with if an airline United and then the flight number. If you were an air taxi you would start it with Tango. If you were air ambulance it started with Medevac. Open amateur-built Kit plane you'd be experimental. However for example N123FD is just 1-2-3- foxtrot Delta. On subsequent calls it maybe be abbreviated further to one two three.

Totaly normal in Europe. In France we said Fox Papa Tango for à F-PEPT plane for example

What mount are you using for the wing? I fly an 8, would love to fit an external camera.
@DeadReckoner
@DeadReckoner 5 лет назад
It's a CAA-approved mount, which bolts directly into a thread on the wing.

@@DeadReckoner don't suppose you can point me towards where to purchase one? (Aware of requirement for load tests/inspector sign off etc)
@DeadReckoner
@DeadReckoner 5 лет назад
@@chrischeetham2659 correction: CAA approval is irrelevant, since it's a permit aircraft (it was also my friend Steve's, the guy in the left seat). As you can see, I'm not very informed on the subject 🙄
