Enjoy your videos. I have a question on paint, I've watched your videos on cleaning and painting wheels and you mentioned a dull aluminum paint to use instead of argent silver, I agree, so what color is the darker gray used on 80's model El-Caminos, would it be gun metal gray or what do you recommend?
Thanks Gary. I believe the color or colors for the 80s El Caminos were 8535 for dark gray and 8573 for silver. I cant remember the rattle can numbers for sure. Think Dupli Color 101,102 or silver and graphite. AutoZone or advanced used to stock them.
Great tips! Many folks don’t know that tires are stamped and how to measure bolt patterns. I have bought several sets from people who bought the wrong ones. Thanks for sharing and for watching!
I need one (1) factory chrome wheel for 1990 to 1993 or newer OBS that was original option on 454SS but optional on other OBS 88 to 98 Chevrolet truck. I had 4 and one was stolen so im back down to three. Im reatoring a 1992 Silverado for my son to have when he turns 16 that was passed down to me and i want to keep it period correct if you happen to have or find one? I dont need center caps only the one wheel. Love your videos, thank you!
I love to hear the legacy continue! I’ll keep a look out for you. Those are getting hard to find. We used to use them on demo derby car because they were so strong. Thanks for the support!
Thanks! I'm swapping out the stock 20in wheels/tires on my new car purchase for 18in wheels/tires for a more comfortable ride AND because the 20in wheels/tires are prone damage due to pot holes. Would you recommend I sell the 20in wheels/tires as a mounted set or dismount the tires and sell them separately from the wheels?
You bet! I do better when I sell the wheels and tires together. That way they are turn key for the next guy. Many people don’t want to have to find tires and then pay mount and balance.
great vid and I do the same. There's so many deals out there, just gotta spend the time cleaning them up and taking some great photos. I've made thousands myself doing the same.
