As an educator, man-splaining is par-for-the-course. (We always have to explain to men! AHAHAHA). Seriously though, administration can be just as frustrating...and derailing. The best trick is 1st - hit their ego: "Wow. You really have background info. I'm glad I have you on my side/team. How would you recommend I implement this w/my particular dilemma/issue? " Whatever. 2nd: If they cannot provide a recommendation - start suggesting your own. (Try...really, really...hard not to be snarky. Sarcasm is my weakpoint and often get into trouble with it.) If you suggest something AND they give info on how to make it work, then ask if the procedure would help in future instances. Also, ask for specific names/contacts #. People are flawed (well - except MOI) and will often have default ways to pass blame or responsibility instead of tracking down an actual answer. I have found that Officers of new-ranking are especially difficult to deal with. I LOVE YOU GF! Please allow yourself to have a very precious holiday. - Shylo
