Really good podcast, stoked to see the power upgrades vs stock. Also you guys really hit the nail on the head about respectful riding. Glad to see you guys are going with Gates i've built a few 70mph plus gy6 motors and the gates belts do not disappoint. Been saving up like crazy for the last year cant wait to finally click the checkout button. Thanks Eric for really pouring your heart and soul into this company its really inspiring to see. Would it be possible to talk about ballpark prices for the special edition? I'm no stranger to wiring harnesses/ mechanical tolerances and would appreciate the opportunity to be a beta tester.

It was really interesting watching this after I just ordered a bike with a pedal kit to help fly under the radar a bit more. Sort of wish I just stuck with pegs.

I've ridden bikes around where Mark has pictured his bike and I'm super surprised I haven't seen him around haha. Really looking into getting a sur ron and I'm hoping I can get enough money to take advantage of that spring deal!

Please sell more of the Hot Rod Sur-Ron Special Edition Bikes although if possible?, I would like to go faster than what John Holmes says, for top speed on his video, where he claimed that his bike does 52mph (I do realize that John had a 60 tooth sprocket installed at the time he was testing). My stock Sur-Ron is the Same Speed as John's Special Edition Bike with a 48 tooth Rear Sprocket and the X Controller. Is his not setup for full speed, similar to riding in ECON Mode? Note: I did buy a 56 tooth sprocket but I didn't like the lower top speed, and I felt that it wasn't as good for Wheelies, so I put the 48 tooth sprocket back on. I also feel the 48 tooth is better gearing for approaching Jumps or Drops. What do other Riders think about the different gearing offered by the sprocket size modifications? I missed out on the opportunity to buy the special edition bike. Is there any way that Bike will be available again, anytime soon? Or is it possible to purchase the Luna Built 72Volt Battery and the BAC-8000 Controller Kit or the BAC-4000 Controller Kit, that comes Setup and Programmed from Luna Cycle? If so, I'd like to order the kit now! I'm an experienced rider that loves to push the limits and I have a consistent need for speed and adrenaline. I have a 2019 Sur-ron X Bike that I bought from Luna Cycle and Love it but I wish it was faster and had a longer and more powerful battery... By the Way, LUNA CYCLE HAS BEEN AMAZING, Thank You! SO FAR, I have upgraded graded my Sur-Ron Bike with NEW Brakes, Large Motocross Style Foot Pegs, Cane Creek Headset, Deity Mid-High Bend Bars, Renthal Pillow Grips, Lighting and A Full Suspension Upgrade Using the 2019 FOX 40 Downhill Forks in the Front and a FOX DHX2 10.5" Downhill Rear Shock... What a Difference! It is incredible what you can hit with the FOX Suspension vs the Stock Suspension! That's all! Thanks Luna Cycle!

Eric, the channel is great keep it up. I have an idea I would like for my Sur Ron based on a you tube clip from "Stunt Freaks for a sound system mounted for e bikes to give a cool programmable sound to mimic certain motors and logarythmically sensitive volume to throttle response to enhance safety and riding experience. Would you like to talk more about design and prototyping a system for Luna? HMU

If I could get in on this in anyway, I would in a heartbeat.... I'd be happy buying some of the bikes that you had to tear down as long as I could get a running bike out of it. Luna and Sur-ron are insane and I need that in my life, Seriously¡!

Bicycle brakes have not been pushed like this before. Going 90mph just is unheard of its a whole new field that needs much work new sur - Ron I'm looking at that belt drive

I'm literally waiting for my refi to finish so that I can buy one, but I don't want to put it on the credit card until the loan goes through. Please don't end the sale without letting people know when it's ending. Seriously, that would totally suck.

Updates..? I'm interested in the bikes, but I think some of this transparency is really helpful for people who 'actually' know about motorcycles what they are buying. For instance I'm either going with the Surron, or the Cake, but this video really didn't sell me on the surron, besides the initial price. Sounds like the cost could easily go higher if you factor in headaches, research time, problems, and especially upgrades.

Thank you for your honesty, at around 30 min it sounds like a business disaster, wow you guys must have deep pockets.

not bad for a cheap chines bike to slow and to small for most people and to slow not legal in many western countries on the road or paved areas, my old motorbike is faster in first gea

I see alot of electric bike that I sat now way that an electric motorcycle... but Im not the law.

I bought a "stealth frame " but now I'm thinking it's going to be a waste of money buying individual parts to build it vs. than just buying a Sur Ron.

My bmw i3 has a generator for battery back up. But there is no way to enable “hold charge” unless the battery is at %75 or less. The bmw engineers must have figured that was the safe number. Anyway, perhaps you can have the regents controller monitor battery charge level and switch off/on regen as needed.

The fact that he kept dodging the question on the new 4000 controller has me concerned.. He wouldn't just give us an answer as to whether or not we can expect the ludicrous kit or not. He clearly knows something that he isn't telling us. Sounds like they won't be releasing the controller without having to spend another $1500 on a new battery with it.. He just doesn't want to admit it yet.. I really want to buy one of their bikes, but the last thing I want is a bike only to be left out in a year from now when they release a version that's twice the power.. I want something that can be upgraded in the future as better batteries and controllers are released..

I'm from Vancouver Canada and a place has the Sur Ron X price $6,490

They mentioned 2/10 batteries are bad, that wouldn’t happen if the batteries were legit panasonic...

OEHLINS IS NICE but there are lots of options out there ...in the end is what you made out of it ;)..specially when you think a RST Killah is a good choice :D BTW...why change to a 80$ brake disk when a 15$ brakepad change would do the trick.

Sounds like bafang and sur ron have been extorting you. I have owned 17 ebikes of varying power and every one of them have stopped working for different reasons except my Sondors Thin belt drive which was $900 total with suspension fork. As a result of me losing thousands of dollars, I am no longer buying any more electric bikes. Great information here and thanks for all of your hard work. I hope you can one day eliminate having to use anything that isnt made in America.
