Several fast food chains are introducing new, cheaper meals following complaints from customers about rising prices. The price of a fast food meal has outpaced inflation, rising about 5% in the last year. CBS Bay Area's Kenny Choi has more.

I'm boycotting most fast food places, especially McDonalds. They are coming out with value meals to lure customers back in, but why should I support them after they so casually thought they could continue screwing over customers with high prices, and as far as I know, wouldn't have stopped if customers hadn't complained.

the whole point of fast food USED to be cheap, fast food for working families. if fast food restaurants think the “value meal” is temporary, they’re walking a path with an eventual but definite end.

@@Anthony-dk7deALWAYS take food back and have them remake it if it’s stale. The food is shrinking so it gets dried out faster and they also are holding onto old food longer than they should now. The fish fillet has shrunk and I even suspect the fries.

Here is my tip... Order from regular restaurants online...but order from the "Kids Menu" We order from Red Robin all the time, but only eat off the kids menu. $6.99 a meal for curbside pick up. Comes with a Main, a drink and a side. Their portion sizes are as generous as a regular meal, for half the price. Same with Chipotle...we eat off the "Kids Menu" often for pick up...and its like $6 bucks for two tacos, your choice of side, and a drink, plus chips.

We stopped eating out as soon as the combo meals doubled. It's cheaper..And healthier to cook at home. $5 meals isn't going to bring me back..esp if they are temporary. It's time for America to shed some fast food weight!

Wendy's is the best because you get your choice of chicken or beef burger, nuggets , fries and a nice size drink for $5.30 and if you get one of those frosty cards for $3 then every time you order you get a frosty free! It's perfect!

The dollar is losing value, everything costs more. Fast food restaurants are not responsible for a declining dollar. Stop blaming businesses and hold your government responsible! The FED, Jerome Powell, is responsible for controlling inflation and maintaining a strong currency. Government has failed, businesses are trying to survive just like everyone.

Learn how to cook food at home folks. Cooking at home comes in around $1.50 to $2 per meal. Fast food is many times more expensive than eating at home. And eating at a sit down restaurant is many times more expensive than that.

I tried to persuade myself that a higher priced fast food serving would be worth it if there was at least some level of consistency on repeat visits. I had a delicious meal initially so I decided to return and order the same thing. On the repeat visit the beef had a funny aftertaste and temperature was substantially cooler. It technically may be 100% beef but it seemed as though they intermix it with a cheaper brazilian variety or something. Sick cow syndrome caught my attention in a dreadful hurry.
