Why does the media always ignore corporate price-gouging when airing these reports? Countless economists have said that more than 60% of the inflation felt within the last 5 years has been from blatant price-gouging. Instead they’re blaming workers for demanding better wages.

The service is awful. When I went to McDs last week, I was the only customer they had, but they still made me wait 4+ minutes without taking my order, so I left. They lost one of their last customers.

Big corporations are not happy their profits are dwindling. Go spend money on over inflated food to then feel like crap, to then spend money on a gym membership. Repeat the cycle.

10 years ago when I was in college we learned that once people start asking for $25 an hour it becomes more cost effective to introduce robots into the market 😅 everything will be drive-through even the grocery store is my guess but we will see - bending machine 2.0 - product ATM - better product availability and reduction of theft - there might be a reduction on impulse purchases so if you don't see it you might not buy it 😅

I stopped eating fast food years ago. These have been the prices in NYC for years. I’m not paying 3 dollars for a small fry at McDonald’s. 40 dollars for 3 people at taco bell is insane. I rather cook at home or go to an actual restaurant

I was in the drive through at a fast food place recently and a car cut ahead of me in line. I was at the second window paying when they cut in front of me. They pulled up to the first window and the employees gave them my order. Apparently this is the latest scam. Fast food is so expensive these days people are stealing it. LOL

Considering that the inflation rate dropped slightly last month, and it has dropped consistently since the beginning of 2023, it would help if the media would actually do their job and tell the public the truth: the inflation crisis is nothing more than huge corporations artificially price gouging consumers! But there in lies the problem. The same corporations that are price gouging consumers are the same ones that own the mainstream media!

Replacing people with robots is the most preposterous idea I've ever heard.

40 years ago I spent more eating out. I think the problem is that the under achievers thought they were middle class when they are actually poor.

I'm one of the 60%. I REFUSE to pay these astronomical prices for extremely cheap food in order to help them with their quarterly profit margins. THE ONLY REASON their prices are so high is greed, period.

mcdonalds prices have tripled actually and the food has gotten worse

I got a footlong sub + chips + drink (so a meal) at subway. it came out to $15 ($10.5 for the sub + 3 for the value meal + taxes). then i was starting to pay and the tip came up as 18% / 22% / 26% . I pressed 18% to make it ~18 dollars after tip. I used to get the same thing for $10 before covid. I never cared much abt inflation because a dollar here there was not worth the hassle but this is now pretty much twice what I used to pay 4 years ago!

For decades I loved Jack In The Box' onion rings. Now they are the diced onions formed into rings and taste horrible. Also the burger meat is so soft it's not like meat. I've quit eating out, it's not even good anymore. These rising prices are GLOBAL, not just in the USA, worse in Australia and the UK so not sure it's just politics.

Again blaming everything except corporate greed. Look, Mom and Pop restaurants have to pay their workers a competitive wage too otherwise they’d lose all their employees to McDonalds and chain restaurants. Yet local owned restaurants are now cheaper than the fast food chains and have all the same rising costs of product etc. if anything, local restaurants are hit harder as their suppliers tend to be local and they don’t have agreements with big corporations to buy in bulk for less. Yet Mom and Pop restaurants and bars are now cheaper than these fast food chains. I can go to local Italian eateries, local Hispanic or Chinese food restaurants, can get a good sized pub burger and fries at the local bar with bigger portions, better quality, and a better price than McDonalds. Yet they are paying their workers just as much or more than these complaining multi billion dollar corporations. McDonalds replaced most of their cashiers with a computer kiosk and have you put in your order yourself now. So, they eliminated many $7.50 an hour cashiers and pay their remaining cooks $15 an hour meaning they aren’t actually taking a hit from paying their workers as they reduced their workforce with computers and since $7.50 times 2 equals $15 they literally didn’t take a hit. Even if they ever someday would they tripled their prices. Their $1 double cheeseburger is now $2.99 so $3 and their $1 fry is now $3.29 so that’s more than tripled. The excuse of paying their workers more is tired and untrue. Especially after saying “woe is me my costs went up” they turn around and brag about record profits from their millions and billions served. Spare us the gaslighting of your employees, customers, and putting the blame on everything and everybody except the real problem that you guys conveniently always choose to ignore - corporate greed. Because again, if these were actual issues all Mom and Pop shops, local eateries, and bars would be outta business as they pay their workers a competitive rate to keep them from jumping ship to those fast food chains yet they can offer more product of better quality for less without tripling their prices. Spare us these bootlicking corporate sympathizing minimum wage shaming bullshit articles.
