I can not believe how incredible Indycar is. So glad I started following after last year. The cars are the best in the world of Motorsport. So fast, and cool looking. And the racing is so pure, nothing feels fabricated or gimmickry. That finish was just Indycar being Indycar. No BS, just racing among super talented men in cars that are just incredible. It’s no wonder F1 has been starting to follow in the footsteps of Indy. Who would have ever guessed. Can’t wait to see them next week in Portland.
The cars are the main attraction I think. Fighterjet/gokart looking things that are just crazy fast, only F1 cars can do laps quicker than them. Considering F1 teams spend 250-550Million a year though they better be faster. Indycar are even quicker than F2 and Super Formula cars now on roadcourses. Just amazing machines and pieces of engineering.
Dr.Fünke's100%NaturalGood-TimeFamilyBandSolution I’m right with you, F1 has always been my first love. But after this season I see Indycar being my new #1. It’s just better, we will have to see though how F1 looks with the new 2021 regs and the cars it produces.
Even the drivers, in F1 it feels like they are all just playing their cocky characters, so cringy it looks like a 90's commercial. Hamilton's acting at this point its hard to tell if anybody actually buys into it. Indy drivers on the other hand are so chill and down to earth and the racing is always amazing. Loving this series more and more.
Thanks for doing this, I work midnights in the ER and had to miss most of the race. A great highlight packet where I feel I got the gist of the race. Why Indycar is my favorite series,
Was at this race, and wow!! What a crowd, what a perfect night for racing, and what a race it was. Gateway knows how to put on a great race. Will be going back next year
WHAT. A. RACE. That was some awesome racing all around the track, from top to bottom! Also, thank you so much IndyCar for these 30min fast forward videos.
Some do, some don't. It's all up to driver choice. Largely it's a comfort issue. Since you're always turning left, the right hand has to do the majority of the work and is regularly in a raised position. By adjusting the wheel, the driver can have a lower right hand position in the straightaways giving it a little extra rest. It also helps to give a bit of extra range of control in the tighter end corners of the track.
Phillip Pugh well, the good thing is he’s obviously following and watching Indycar. I think he’s not happy with his main squeeze, so he’s going around seeing what else is out there. Dirty dirty boy!!!!
I haven’t seen more than a couple races this season. I hope that some of the 10lb brains running indycar are talking about making a streaming service for indycar. Maybe work with the massive data company that’s sponsoring the series? Have a free subscription with limited commercials and a pay subscription for people like me who are willing to pay for extras like F1TV(hopefully better because F1TV’s bugs are infuriating). I’d pay $15-20 to have access to onboards, telemetry, archived races, etc.. They need to realize that TV is a dead media unless you have the fan base of football or basketball- NASCAR is even scrambling over losses of TV audience. Indycar especially needs to realize this because nbc treats the races like an afterthought. They get bumped for any and everything. Me and I’m sure 100’s of thousands, if not millions have money we’d love to give them in return for consistent, reliable, streaming/on demand content- please take it. Please?
Clinton Worthman Yeah I had that briefly. It had the same issues with crashing that the regular nbcsn app had. It could not have happened at worse times either. I’d even pay extra on my Netflix or prime account to watch on there.
21:30 They mention it. Explain how etc. what more did you expect? (Honest Question) 20:13 you can see the leader board split with lots of -1's as Bourdais hits the wall lap 191.
Bryce Ring Before Bourdais brought out the yellow, Sato, Kanaan and Carpenter were running ~12-15. They ran a longer stint than everyone because they had pitted for fuel on one yellow where everyone else stayed out since they were at the back anyway. When Bourdais brought out the yellow, all the leaders had just pitted a few laps before, and the three & Newgarden were still on their last stint. Because this is a short track, everyone but them had gone a lap down... so when they pitted under yellow, everyone got waved around, but they came out of the pits in the same four spots they had gone in. Hence why I said that they got lucky.
