This short predicted all the anxiety-causing parts of the Thomas & Friends community, those being the following: Big World Big Adventures (More Female Engines), Sodor Fallout (The Nuclear Power-plant Exploded), All Engines Go (the reason behind the other engines’ absences.), Etc.
On the one hand, the humour is a bit on the primitive side. But on the other hand, they were ahead of their time; it looks like a Fan-made Thomas model-series before RU-vid was invented. My favourite segments are 4:31 - Proto-Mad bomber I have to say. 6:09, if only for it's 'mad rambling' side of things. And I am fascinated with their sunset at 3:58 - going quite the extra mile with that shot I admit.

Someone asked if they were any female Engines in the show and on the 1998 Archive of the official Thomas website it says gender doesn’t really matter for Engines and… they’re not wrong, do you look at Thomas The Tank Engine and identify as a male? We know he is but it’s not the same feeling right? Also there are plenty of moments in the show where female characters save the male characters anyway so…
The jokes back then in the 80's are as true then as they are now. Of course, they'd never make a series like this today. Cancel culture and the woke brigade would be too offended.
