This crash and burn at Godzilla on the Upper Ocoee went down Saturday August 24, 2024. Was my former outpost punking me 'cause they were sore I was leaving at the end of the season? The world may never know.
However Stephen, Judy, and Marlene were troopers and they hung tight and finished the trip. This was not their first rodeo. We all had a great time later reliving the trip at Mexico Loco with a wonderful meal.
As I mention in the video this was my first swim in over five years despite being a very full time guide that always works full river trips on weekends and the middle on weekdays. My memory was a little fuzzy after the paddle smack to the face but I still managed to clear both holes for my pal Ocoee Ed who was guiding the next raft behind me.
