New Covenant Whole Gospel: Can you honestly answer the first three questions below? Who is now the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. @ChrisWillx, listen, don’t listen to @Ianidas300. I’m not into meditation because it’s for people who want to j/o in public but… Dudes “practices” aren’t going to include, speak out-loud when playing to anyone who isn’t Big G. God is the only entity you could expect to be able to hear your thoughts. I’m not sure even G can hear your thoughts, tho. If you want praying to “work” you probably need to SPEAK your hopes, desires, and gratitude.
One of my favorite things about the 2 of you talking together are the long silent pauses. It's a lost art to quietly think before you open your mouth. I really appreciate depth of thoughtfulness.
Chris, as a person who used to believe that religion was a virus, I can say for certain that when your life depends on it, it doesn't matter how small your faith is. I am an alcoholic, been sober for a couple of years, and it all started when my AA sponsor told me that in order to stay sober, I needed to start praying daily, and that he didn't care if I believed God was listening, just that I prayed. At first it did feel disingenuous, but that discomfort was a tiny price to pay for the possibility of remaining sober. Now it's beyond belief, I know that God is real, He sent His Son Jesus to die for my sins, and His Holy Spirit is what saves me from my alcoholism, one day at a time. Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, and may God bless you on your journey!
Amen! Stay strong and thank you for praising god and his will! He has you and will not let go! No matter what. Even in your darkest days, he is still there.
I grew up Catholic, our family never spoke of God at home or in the car. Jesus name was never spoken other than being in a manger once a year. Later on, I developed a nicotine addiction that had me in a stranglehold for 14 years. I heard a gospel preacher saying that I should pray in Jesus name. For me, that meant praying directly to Jesus. Jesus removed my addiction from me, he made me happy without nicotine. He continued to answer prayers for me in a miraculous way. He drew me to himself by helping me when I couldn’t help myself. One day, I was overwhelmed with the aspect that he was real, and not only real, but generous and good. I realized that I had dishonored him my entire life, and purposed to honor him from that day forward. I can honestly say that my faith in Christ is not even faith anymore. I know him, we have a relationship. I do my best to convince people to seek him with their whole heart through God’s Word. But it’s like Eric said, they are afraid of what they will find and what they will have to give up. I was once a slave of sin and my own autonomy, now I’m a slave of righteousness and addicted to his Word.
I agree with you when you say “the world doesn’t need religion. It needs Christ.” But what the world needs is fellowship with likeminded people to share Christ with, and to keep us grounded in our faith when it shakes. Recommendation - read the book of Acts. In His eternal love.
I began praying every morning about 2 years ago. I'm noticeably better for it. I've been Christian my whole life, but making prayer a habit is a whole other level. It's a beautiful thing.
Amen to that! It's a discipline I struggle with, but each time I fall away I see that life is less sweet, and so I come back and find that He has been there all the time, letting me do my own thing, but meeting me with such kindness and wisdom when I finally come back.
From a Catholic man, fallen from the church and certain that God had deserted me when I held my daughter as she took her last breath, this gives me hope.
Wow, I can't imagine your suffering. I watch my boys grow in faith (and science, and all of it), and I know the world sucks, and it eats us alive, and it worries me. I also know that the Creator intended a much better way. A walk together in the garden in the cool of the day.
At about 3:20 in the afternoon of Friday the 22nd of October in 2010, I was standing in the road beside a burning car that contained my wife and son. It was only my faith in God and an afterlife that kept me together, in that moment and the weeks after.
My oldest son had a heart/lung transplant when he was 17. He lived almost 5 years. When he died, I cried out to God and said, "I have buried my son! I HAVE BURIED MY SON!" I couldn't wrap my mind around it. The Lord spoke to me so gently and said, " I know. I buried Mine too." I thought about that for a few minutes, and then I said (because I needed the God of the universe to know just how much I was suffering!) "But You got Yours back three days later....." And again, with the greatest of compassion, He spoke to my heart and said, "Yes. And that's why I got yours immediately." I had been a Christian for many years at that point, but that was the moment the Gospel jumped to life for me. He died, so Jordan didn't have too. He simply went from life on earth to life in heaven. It's been 20 years and I still miss him every single day. But I know I will see him again and that he will be the one who greets me when it's my turn to cross over.
I use to say I had no faith, and then I realised that I had faith in lots of things I had no real reason to believe in. Then, I had an experience that taught me that faith is a journey and it starts with a step and it lead to humbleness, reverence and respect for the devine.
"Weakness of the mind;" that is so apt. As if your mind, yours individually, must be strong and perfect and right, always. The men in the video (atheists) are questioning the value of all that came before. Is their humility not a strength? Be honest.
I grew up before Vatican II, I was also a Nerd-child who studied Latin. So I've always understood the Latin Mass and find it a very special way to connect with the Divine - but not the only way. I still sing in Gregorian Chant choirs
Note that Vatican II as such did not eliminate Latin from the Mass. There's nothing stopping a priest from saying the Mass in Latin (albeit, according to the new order) except that many people (Boomers in particular) would complain.
This is really refreshing. I am a Christian but was agnostic for most of my life. People don't realize the ramifications of having an entire society void of faith
People do know what it’s like to watch someone massively overgeneralize. They also know what it’s like to watch an entire society be led astray by their beliefs.
Have fair rules. We have surveillance cameras and forensics now. Just tell people they actually can and will be punished by other people if they go against the rules. No omnipresent being or afterlife made up is necessary now. Plenty of other societies had religion, too. Societies you wouldn't want to live in. It's made up as people go along, and goes off the rails terribly once in a while. And remember what has happened when Abrahamic religions actually had direct power in Europe and elsewhere...like heretic burnings because 'they don't kneel at church, and we do' types of differences between groups.
I definitely see more people realising some of the less obvious things that were got rid of when people decided they could do without faith - community, inter-generational contact, service, fellowship, shared worship, communal prayer, neighbourliness - we all do these things in part but without a compelling and uniting story and shared experience it become something a minority engages in when they feel like it, and it starts to get too much for the few to carry... Not many yet connect the issues in society with their own decisions - I think most are still living off the inheritance of their faithful forebears without realising that inheritance is dwindling fast. Just because everyone did a really poor job of following the teachings of Jesus for 2000 years, doesn't mean that a world where people have stopped trying looks any better...
when I was weak in my faith, Mark 9:24 resonated with me " .....Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" January 2017 everything changed, when it all came together that it is ALL real and true. The more I researched (including Greek, Hebrew and early church fathers ) the more solid and unshakeable my faith has become.
As a believer when I look around at this vast universe, the changing of the seasons, the human body and how it functions it’s more reason for me to believe that God exist than not. If I loose a finger modern science cannot replace that finger or any body parts like the one God gave me. “ THOSE WHO SEEK ME SHALL FIND ME” Jeremiah 29:13
I am a Christian, Jesus walked, taught, was crucified as the true Passover Lamb, a sacrifice for the sins of those who put faith in Him, them raised Himself on the third day to prove He was who He claimed to be, God incarnate. I loved this conversation. Though I mourn for those who struggle to find faith, God is at work and it's fascinating to watch. Great conversation.
@@travisanderson3801 life is always stranger and more interesting than fiction, my friend. You may understand it intellectually first, and before you know it (me being a former determinist atheist and then a sort of agnostic Christian apologist, to now full Christian) it would surprise you the power of humble prayer and taking that a leap of faith for lack of better term. You are revealed things even even you seek theology that satiates your intellectual desire before receiving invitations to go further. Take the chance. If you have intellectual hurdles, like I did, seek those with answers. Bishop Robert Barron was pretty instrumental for me and has a lovely youtube channel. Very intelligent man that helps elucidate Christian theology and cuts through the obnoxious strawmanning you usually find with skeptics. I being one of them formerly as well.
@@travisanderson3801It is a wild story. The truth is hard to accept. Jesus was persecuted by the most ‘holy’ men (Pharisees) at the time. The Jews wanted him crucified because he pointed out their hypocrisy, but he was the real deal. Humble, wise, and helped the poor and truly disabled.
I couldn’t either. When I look through the lens of Jesus’s teachings and the life he lived it provokes me to sorta have this conversation with myself. Am I here to live for myself or live for others. Obviously that doesn’t mean abandon your responsibilities and not desire good things in life. However it’s you realizing you are not here for just your own pleasures and self absorbed life. Does he want you to enjoy life? Well of course. But how are we making it a better place for others and not just our own little bubble. Actually when we do that, we inherently teach our kids that no one else matters, but our family and if everyone else in the world acted that way it’s pretty selfish and could very well feed narcissism. I don’t think we can create our own definition of how to live life which is why I believe Jesus role modeled the best way. Which is die to live.
From the time I could talk , I prayed to Jesus bc I was afraid of the dark , I talked to Him though I’ve never seen him and His Spirit is always with me. I think it’s cool that he was a Jewish man living in Israel . I visited Israel to see where he lived and I felt Him there everywhere I went.
I am compelled to listen to these interviews with Eric, simply because what he says so eloquently helps me to further process my own thinking and perceptions of many issues I confront in this life. This elaboration on religion was helpful to me, (as my own views are always in development and tend to be confusing to other people who either rigidly adhere to their doctrine or totally reject any mention of religion altogether so I don't tend to express my own views publicly) but they are very close to what Eric was discussing here.
A cynic might say it’s a good time to start a church, temple or some other religious structure(concrete and abstract). We are vulnerable creatures when we are scared. 💸
It's a big mistake to think that we automatically understand someone else's words or explanations. The meaning that person has for the words they use, does not travel with the words to the person they're talking to. When we hear someone's words, we organize them, and extract what they mean to US. In most cases we don't quite hear what the other person is saying unless it's mundane, or cliche'. I don't remember ever being able to match my meaning by finding the right words, for anything beyond the mundane and cliche'. I always have to settle for words that can only give a clunky and vague sense of what I'm trying to say. And you can't communicate an experience the other person never had.
10:25 It's the Catholic Latin Mass, and it's growing in popularity with young people all over the world. (It's not a separate denomination: it's Catholicism using a form of the Sunday Mass that was universal until the early '60s.)
My Mom was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school up till 9th grade. Until recently i had never thought about the fact that with her age she probably saw the change. Mass was in Latin until she was something like 10 years old.
I attend an FSSP parish. We have 3 packed Sunday Masses every week as well as daily mass and confession with Exposition and Adoration every week. Our priests are young, as are the parishioners. Women are veiled and modest in dress. Large families are the norm. We are the future of the Catholic Church.
I’m one of those old people. You don’t need to “know” Latin to “get” the Latin Mass. There are books and there’s even an app (Laudate) that has the Latin/English on the same page so you can follow along. As a child, the Latin was taken away, churches were basically sacked, music dumbed down, etc. I attend a diocesan Traditional Latin Mass in east Tennessee.
Psalm 14:1 states clearly: The fool has said in his heart, "there is no God." Can you reason with a fool? We all struggle in this earthly journey, but it's good to hear an honest conversation with people sharing their struggles with faith and God and trying to understand it all. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. I leave you with this verse of scripture: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6. He rewards those who EARNESTLY SEEK HIM.
We are grateful for our Jewish roots. God has truly blessed them with amazing brains, talents, and they are the Apple of his eye. Jesus, He is a person who loves his children.
First of all, that is not absolutely true. Not everyone who earnestly seeks God is rewarded. As such religion fails to provide reliable guidance and cosmological stability, leaving merely a cute story and a psychological hack.
Do you not think it is possible for someone to have earnestly sought after God and found nothing there? I promise you, they exist. It's very easy to dismiss people you don't agree with by calling them fools; it's much harder to try to understand other people with different life experiences. People observe those life experiences and make different conclusions than each other all the time. Thought-terminating cliches like "they are just fools" rob you of the ability to understand your fellow humans and widen your perspective. I'm happy you found a faith that is fulfilling for you. I'm also happy that others find fulfillment elsewhere. Be well.
I'm a vocalist, and this makes me realize that I need to study the lyrics of what I sing way more! I'm not nearly as smart as this man, but I would love to have a conversation with him.
I just discovered Eric a few days ago and he resonates on every level: science, society, and now second tier spirituality and music! He has a passionate confidence and tranquility like I’ve never seen.
The Church that is in Latin is the pre-Vatican Catholic Chruch. As a little girl being raised as a protestant, I often stood outside the local Catholic Church to listen to the Latin Mass, and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! I didn't understand the words but it was mystical and touched me in ways that are hard to explain. Language is actually very superficial and trite, and it's impossible to get the gist of the mystical or metaphysical in language. This is why we need myth and legends that explain in story what we can't explain in our hearts. To read the Bible verbatum is to only understand it on a very superficial level, which often leaves us cold and wanting. But to study with a great teacher is profoundly eye opening. We have some great teachers today, including Jordan Peterson and Dennis Prager, and after this discussion I think Eric is much deeper than I ever thought he would be. When I've told friends that I prefer opera where I don't understand the words, they look at me as if I'm crazy; I'm not. I like to get the basic outline of an opera plot and then let the music itself tell the story without language getting in the way and making it just another trite love story.

You’re always a gentleman and super patient with guests as they find their way in and out of explaining thoughts and feelings about all the topics… great show!
I'm not religious, but I have to confess, every time I hear a really good version of "How Great Thou Art," it sends chills down my spine. On another note, I'm struck by how often Eric asks Chris if he's familiar with a particular song or artist, and the answer always seems to be no. Poor guy is tragically uninformed about music.

I think of Eric as encyclopediac in his approach to music. His discussion of religiosity in music falls short when he invokes Hendrix. Surely he knows that Dylan is the author of AATW, and Dylan's lyrics are rife with spiritual meaning, making Eric's point not so revelatory.
I’ve long thought the modern Western world often harbors a secular bias that marginalizes religious experiences through oversimplification and commercialism. And the “spiritual but not religious” narrative reflects a disillusionment with organized religion but also suggests a longing for a connection to something greater than oneself. Eric does a better job than I at effectively highlighting the benefits of our capacity to harness this power to tap into the whole - by whatever name you choose to call it is less important.

11:14 I’m a former Catholic turned Nichiren Buddhist and I completely agree with this. I remember a handful of Latin masses as a child and the only thing I have found that feels the same is the practice of Gongyo - chanting passages from the Lotus Sutra in Japanese (phonetically) as well as the phrase Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. This completely puts you in a different state of being. I think that the original or closest to original language of a religion is a valuable transmitter of its message. Chanting portions of the Lotus Sutra in Japanese is much easier than chanting those same portions in English as well.
Yea often happens with podcast clips, cause the question asked can sometimes lead to a totally different discussion. Not sure if a lot of them care the questions not answered though.
I must partially disagree. If they question presupposes that the modern world regards biblical-based religion/faith as irrelevant, then Eric Weinstein does address the question by showing religion so permeates our culture that common phrases and cliches have a basis in the Bible. And, he appears saddened that someone as bright as Chris, who in effect represents the modern world, is unaware of this reality.
"Faith is a gift I have yet to be given." I completely agree with this. And once it is given it permeates throughout your entire being and doesn't leave you. Faith actually can haunt you. The only time I ever truly prayed was right before God gave me the gift of Faith.
Wow this is an immensely powerful interview. I have been feeling everything Eric is saying in recent times. After running away from Christianity in my 20s i can feel it coming back into my life now, I have a family. I am seeing the bible stories from a completely different viewpoint. Thanks for bringing this subject to life
Chris, without my faith, traditional Catholicism, I would be lost. And it's the reason I'm watching you and listening to Weinstein. I'm looking for and believe in Objective Truth. And I love the Latin Mass as it was when I was a kid. BTW we children did know some Latin but the English translation was beside it on the other page. We cdid know what the words mean.
Enjoyed the Enjoyed the conversation. The telling question is: "Are you afraid you'll lose your atheism?" What is it that you are actually afraid you will lose? It's not a dead-end materialism. Perhaps the bigger question is: What am I afraid of if God finds me? Gives me faith?
Eric Weinstein, I greatly appreciate your lens. Secular Buddhist here. Check out how many references to the pineal gland you'll find in the bible. Hindus and Buddhists have been meditating on this gland for thousands of years. No longer much interested in explaining myself....we're all in our heads to damned much. Appreciate you and thanks for the killer content!
Faith and belief is human programming. We found what we need to make our brains happy, hopeful and grateful. It’s religion. Whether you believe it or not doesn’t deny that it’s a very helpful thing for people to believe. Or pose the the ideas you need for happiness. The mental state is the key to the health of the body. I am agnostic, but I do pray. Why? Because i know it works to be happy and hopeful. Without gratefulness and hope you get despair.
If you are going to be an honest atheist, you have to spend years doing scholarly study. Most everyone I know that says "I'm an athiest or an agnostic". This simply means, "I have never actually read and tried to understand the Bible"....or, " I was raised X, but I'm not religious"....once again, they haven't done the work, yet they automatically discount the scriptures. The BIble is not a book. It is a library. And the knowledge and wisdom that lies within those pages is nothing short of miraculous.
If you say so, then one should say the same about the other religions too. You can't possibly claim to be an honest non-Muslim without spending years doing scholarly study of the Quran. Or, you can't be an honest non-Hindu without spending years studying the Bagavad Gita. With this view, everyone would be a dishonest unbeliever in something, because you obviously can't spend years studying the religious text of every religion that has ever existed.
@@frede1905 I appreciate your logic, however, I have spent many years studying what little scholarly discussion is available for the Quran, having not been written and changed mulitple times for over 5 centuries after Christ and several millenia after Judaism. The Quran's prophet was illiterate and as to Hindu it is said that they believe in over 330,000,000 "gods". For me, they are both a religion and/or an ideology. I claim Christ. All religions demand that their adherents earn their way home. That is they must do good deeds to be admitted into their perception of eternity. Christ doesn't and his sacrifice continues to offer me the most beautiful answer to my continual search for meaning. I would invite you to search for yourself and I feel confident you would clearly see the difference.
@@sootherswontknow You can be convinced that Christianity is true, and that's fine of course. But I don't think you should blame others who don't believe the same for not having studied the Bible for years, since, as mentioned, we all have non-belief in hundreds of religions we haven't studied for years. That's what my comment was for.
@@frede1905 no blame….it was meant as an invitation. It’s not an I’m right and you/they are wrong. Merely an observation that in my experience has observed most, if not all, atheists and agnostics reject what they do not know or have not researched. Or, in reference to “Christianity”, were turned off due to a wrongful interpretation. It might surprise you to know most of today’s Christianity is wildly misunderstood, given all the weird “feel good” prosperity nonsense that is so prevalent today.
Hi Chris, The TLM Movement stands for the Traditional Latin Mass. It was the central liturgy of the Catholic faith until the New Mass came in 1969 and revolutionised the Church for the worse. This was also a fruit of Vatican II. Now young people are realising what an amazing thing the TLM was and still is, even though the present Pope is trying to outlaw the celebration of it.
No Eric, I do not have faith, never had and never will. Not "in and out", not "every now and then", no, not ever. And I like lots of religious music, but for the musical, melodical and emotional value they have, regardless of the lyrics, of which I couldn't care less what they say. I am Jewish by ethnicity, my whole family, on both sides are European Jews, but I don't feel any kinship or connection with other Jews just because we share a cultural ancestry. There are many like me, I believe more than you think. Free independent thinkers for which religion is a thing of the past.
So sorry for who/whatever hurt you so long ago that you lost the gift & incredible joy of faith😢 I just said a prayer 🙏 for you -- that Almighty God show you a sign, something meaningful to YOU, that you can KNOW He IS, & help restore your Faith 🙏🙏🙏
They’re referring to the rise of the traditional Latin mass in the United States. It’s an interesting thing to say Vatican II was a mistake. The intent was to try and make the mass approachable to younger people by making it culturally … contemporary. What ended up happening is people felt and were removed from the tradition of the worship of the mass. It became disconcerting feeling of “mass is for me to go and get something” instead of the traditional, incense, choral, beautiful long tradition of the mass as “I go to give God glory and participate in the mass”.
What I love about this conversation (and similar ones recently) is it demonstrates that those that don't "believe" are, at least, willing to consider the important role that religious beliefs have played ... and may still play ... in our human understanding. My problem is that there seems to be this assumption that it is the atheist that is at fault for not realizing this, or being willing to consider it. When is the last time you heard a theist (Christian, or other religion) willing to say ... "I can understand where these atheists are coming from, and maybe they have an important point". Please let's not let the theists off the hook so easily. I still live with the fact that I can't be honest with my octogenarian parents, because it would only cause pain.
It's a type of meditation at worst. In my opinion, it's an exercise in vulnerability and humbleness. Opening yourself up and talking to someone who possibly isn't there.
Mr Weinstein breadth and depth of intelligence on so many subjects is beyond most human comprehension! Yet his ability to communicate on a level of understanding for most people on any given subject is stunning! JOYFUL!
Answers to Some Questions Individuals May Have 1) Why would God need blood sacrifices as an answer for sins which he already knew would happen? Answer: As God knows the end from the beginning The Son was going to come down and become a man born from a VIRGIN woman that would be implanted with the SEED from THE HOLY GHOST. When Jesus Christ was born - not only was he born for the sake of the Adam race, but as an answer to the Angels - especially the Fallen Angels. The idea of 'sacrifice' and 'sacrifices' are not just animals getting slaughtered, but when the individual would cause the animal to be slaughtered - it would be felt by the one allowing his beast to be sacrificed. The beast is slaughtered, and the one who is having his beast sacrificed feels the 'pain' of 'sacrificing' one of his best beasts. It comes with a price to the one doing the sacrifice. When the people would sacrifice to God they were to put their heart into it. And there were/are many different sacrifices that were done. So God knew beforehand that man would sin; and he knew that there would be Fallen Angels as well. With the sacrifices, the innocent beasts that were sacrificed paid the price of the one sacrificing them. When they would sacrifice many of the sacrifices required, the one sacrificing the beast would put his hand on the head of the beast as if he were transferring himself to the beast. The beast was then sacrificed. All these animal sacrifices were a 'Type' of what was going to eventually occur in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ which was going to occur. When Jesus Christ was sacrificed he did it as not only as a man, but as a servant. As a Burnt Offering he wholly gave himself to his FATHER. As the TRESPASS and SIN OFFERINGS he was the ONE in which represented the Adam race: he paid the price. When he was in the process of his earthly ministry he was in complete obedience to The Father and was led by The Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ sacrificed himself 'ALONE' on that cross - and therefore he cried out Psalm 22:1 "My God, My God Why hast Thou Forsaken Me?" The Angels nor the Prophets understood what was taking place on that cross. The Devil himself did not understand. If the Devil would have known that the Death of Jesus Christ was going to be a victory, then the Devil would have done his part in trying to influence the people to keep him alive. When Jesus Christ died, he offered himself up to God as the Burnt Offering, the Atonement Sacrifice, and all of the Sin and Trespass Offerings that were required by men. He conquered DEATH, the DEVIL, and HELL when he died, was buried, and resurrected from the dead as he foretold his disciples - and as he told the people. God was pleased with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God accepted what Jesus Christ offered for himself to God; and what Jesus Christ offered for the Adam race to God. God was pleased. The Angels, good and bad saw this. They did not know that God was going to use the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ be an answer of salvation to the Adam race of all that have been, are, and will be saved. This was God's plan unbeknownst to the Angels and unbeknownst to the Prophets foretelling of the sacrifice. The Blood Sacrifices came with a price for all that had sacrificed to God - and God also FELT the sacrifice. Now this act by the Godhead was for Angels and Man to see; and possibly any other creature that God created as well. 2) Why punish the Adam race for Adam's sin? Answer: Adam had free will just like the Angels, but fell. Unlike many Scholars and Theologians saying that we all have 'Free Will' - I have to disagree. The Children of Adam all started off with 'Sin' in their genealogy. Adam did not suffer that, but his descendants did. With The Lake of Fire and Brimstone that was prepared for The Devil and his Angels was/is also used for the unsaved individuals of the Adam race. Adam tried to cover his nakedness with palm leaves, but The Lord replaced it with 'coats of skin' - animal sacrifice, God clothed them (The Man and the Woman). With Adam's answer for his nakedness he used palm leaves to hide his nakedness. This is a kind of answer that Man may use for his actions - and it might be called, 'religion'. God's answer was 'Sacrifice'. When Man sins, it does affect God. Man's answers for his own sins does not please God, but God's answer... is the answer. In the Western World 'especially' in this day, people don't care to be 'told' or 'instructed' what to do - and to 'obey authority'. God wants obedience. The Fallen Angels with their 'Free Will' did not want to 'Obey' - and they have their destination. The Adam race does not have the 'free will', but they have the 'Sacrifice' that is accepted by God. There is a final destination with The Fallen Angels... or to be saved. To us, the 'time element' might be long - but to God - 'time' has no power over him. The people 'before' the cross had to have 'Animal Sacrifices' until Jesus Christ - and God did and does the accepting. So obedience and responsibility was/is required by the Adam race. People may not be happy about this, but God is The Creator - and he decides. 3) If Jesus is God why would he have to die, but if he really can't die? Answer: He did not die as GOD, he died as a man. As a man, he represented the Adam Race... he often referred to himself as the Son of Man (Adam). Refer to Psalm 22:1) My God, My God...why hast thou forsaken me? Before he died, he told his disciples and he even told the people that he would raise again from the dead. He did. I also believe that God cannot die. Just as Mary is the mother of the Man Jesus Christ and NOT the Mother of God - God does not have a mother. In that same thought, God cannot die, and neither The Angels. 4) Why would God act shocked that humans are going to sin even though he knew they would anyway? Even though God knew that Man would sin with and without help from The Enemy, he still felt the unpleasantness. 5) How could God be all-loving if he's going to send 75% or so of all mankind to hell? Answer: Yes, God is the one that decides. He is the one that will either Accept the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ for those that are saved or he will Not Accept the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ for their sins that are not saved. It is up to God. He knows Man better than Man knows himself. Also, God is Loving - but God is also Holy and Righteous. 6) Also, why would many of these people suffer to be born in a wrong country and/or a wrong time? Answer: Again, everything is in God's plan. In the capsule of time that God has set - every thing has its part to play. With everything that has and will occur God has a reason - and part of the reason is to be acknowledged by Angels both good and bad, and by the Adam race: saved and unsaved. This is a long answer for your questions, but hopefully you understand my answers.
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 Yes, but it wouldn't be as good as this one. One only knows good by knowing evil, and abundance by knowing need. In order to understand blessings one must know sacrifice. A more tangible example would be is that you know satiation of a good meal because you've felt hunger. And isn't true that the best spice is hunger. The best way to appreciate blessings is to know sacrifice. Hope that helps.
@@retsaf1 But an all knowing god would know how to make it better, right? If you were all knowing and all powerful would you create a world where a sacrifice would be necessary or unnecessary? Don't forget that you're all knowing so you'd know how to make a better world without needing to get your son killed.
IN THAT CASE YOU @crazy . . . . . religion existed, from the very start of human kind! ( - & - )Jjesus Christ established / brought to all of us ; = CHRISTIANITY !!
Yes, did I miss how he transitioned to the scales from religion? He never clarified or summarised his link. Patience might be a way to listen, Chris modelling this well.
"Religion knows about you" is well said. After the crossover you tealize it's not just "religion" but the living God that knows all your tricks, always has, always will. Religion then can be thought of as the noteworthy places where he showed so.
