Always enjoy your videos especially when you are accompanied by Justine listening to them behind you laughing and giggling was funny! Ember is doing so well now, just need to get his head straight think it’s all the excitement being in company!
I really love watching your videos to see how you do with Ember as I have an ex racehorse toI and she is a bit nutty. I find it reassuring to see that Ember has his nutty moments too and how you handle them. Mine throws her head in the air too and tries to gallop off, I feel like I’m always pulling on her mouth as she is so strong.
That looked great fun Lucy.Ember is keen in groups so the more you do this the more settled he’ll become. It takes a while for them to calm down after been in the race yards. You ride him very well now with Justine’s advice etc he will be fine he’s a lovely little horse Chestnuts are my soft spot love them. The race horse I looked after well my one of four that I looked after was very much like Ember in colour very strong and excitable been a 7 furlong sprinter he was lovely to look after loved him. It took me a while to hold him though but my boss had me cantering in his big field until he was certain I was ready to go on the beach and track. I’ll be honest he got away from me twice so I had to go up a couple of holes lol. After that I had him and adored galloping him. Be nice for you to take him on the beach just to feel the thrill of a tb.tfs😎🏇😎
I wonder if he would run like an Olympian because he doesn’t have to be a race horse anymore. He has the speed he just doesn’t want to be a professional racer - too limiting!
They are capable, for sure. I had one & he was amazing. They were born to run. One day mine took off (sold wrong bit) & it was exhilarating & scary at the same time.. Scary bc we were galloping down a winding, dirt road.. thankfully no cars that day!! Fastest horse I ever rode, by far.. Thoroughbreds are sweethearts, very kind & affectionate.
Ember is beginning to believe life ain't so bad after all. Interesting and lovely new journey for the both of you! Helmet cam helpful showing head shaking. I would love to better understand his idiosyncrasies. Anyway, have a glorious time.
So you take your chef (cook) with you when you go on trailride with your friends🥰 I think that your gopro should give a better view if you put him a little bit higher, to see better the horizon😊
I am so happy you had a good time today Lucy and love seeing you happy and enjoying life and etc xoxo 😘 🌞🩵🩵🌞🐴💛🐴🏝️🩵🩵🏝️🐴💛🐴🌞🏝️🩵🩵🌞💛🐴🌞🩵🩵🏝️🌞🌞🏝️🩵🩵🌞🐴💛💛🌞🏝️🩵🩵🌞🐴💛💛🌞🏝️🩵🌞🐴💛🐴🩵🩵🩵🩵🏝️🐴🐴🏝️🩵🏝️🌞🐴
@Footluce Eventing - Feel free to tell me to f@ck off (because I DO fully sound like one of those Internet horse police 😂) but I wonder if a different bit would help with the head tossing? Gags work with conflicting pressure on the poll and in the mouth - poll pressure says “head down”, but the mouthpiece sliding up the ring when the reins are engaged stretches the lips and tells the horse “head up”. Gag bits create a squeeze/vice grip on the horse’s head that they can’t escape from unless you ride with absolutely no contact at all. I had the same issue with my very strong and dicky OTTB and thought it was just him being quirky and keen, until I was told to try a different bit and found he completely stopped the head tossing and general dickishness 🙈 If you still want something with more leverage than an ordinary snaffle but the same mouthpiece, I believe Trust does a kimberwicke with the same mouthpiece! Kimberwickes are a much kinder alternative to gags as they have a fixed mouthpiece that doesn’t squeeze the head and pull the lips, yet still have a leverage option for when you need it! Love watching Ember’s progress 😍
I'm with Ember. Rather be on the beach tho. PLEEEASE. Full gallop. As often as is best for him. (Me) . LOVE watching his head bob as he canters/gallops. Ears twitching. Best ever. ❤
