I love how Brian has that boyish grin as he's about to pass Dom. He's giddy he's genuinely going to win but also to prove himself to Dom after all those years. I loved the relationship between these two over the franchise.
@@optimusprimus89 lol. I know man. Like some say here, Dom needed to get into Bragas crew and the street was his only ticket whereas Brian as an FBI AGENT can pull strings.
@@ccx806 True but it still sucks they cucked us like that back in 2009.. The one time we really would have seen Brian make a comeback and beat Dom after all those years since 2001, only to lose by plot armor... You don't know how pissed I was as a kid to see Brian lose like he did and Dom call him a buster as he pulled the most buster move!
Back when the series paid attention to detail. I love how they show us at 2:11 Dom approaching the turn, downshifting to 2nd, and then clutch popping to break the wheels loose for the drift. Man I wish they still made these movies like this
As much as I want to like this comment (can't like it more than once) sadly for every 1 detail, there are 10 incorrect things being shown. Like for example the graphics at the start of the race show the M5 as a E60 while the actual car is a E39 (they made it sound like the E60 M5 too), an S15 is shown while the actual car is an S14 and the R34 has the 2F2F bodykit while the actual car is stock.
The Fast and Furious saga was never about street racing. It was about pulling off jobs, car chases, heists, and never turning your back on family, even when they do. Something you wouldn't understand, since you just watch the racing.
Daquan Harrison Well someone is hostile. Please tell me how I don’t know about not turning my back on family? I didn’t know you knew so much about me. And how do you know I only pay attention to the racing? Guarantee I’ve seen these movies more than you have. I made a simple comment stating that I liked the attention to detail and I wished they still did that in the newer films which caused you (for some unknown reason) to come at me with anger and insults. Take your negative attitude somewhere else. Have a great day and fuck off 😁
Fast and Furious five Brian - What do you say, Dom? Dom - Are we talking or we racing? Brian - Just don't cheat this time. Dom (Smiling) - Gotta let that go.
@@B4RC0D3_YT im not sure thats true tho because at the last second dom shifted gear and then brian shifted gear and beat the dom at the last second. so why dom shifted gear and let of the throttle? i think rom and han were just messing with brian. however brian still wins this race if it was straight up
@@shatteredheart8548 coz dom knows that MIA was pregnant that's why dom allowed brian to win the race in order for brian to get their bets for the new family
One of my favorite scenes and lines “sure you wanna do this?” “A lot has changed” I remember the feeling watching it at the theaters because we knew things had changed and we were in for a treat.
and they really changed! Brian proves to be better in this race, shows that over time he was able to improve his skills and has more experience than he lacked.
the reason why I like this race it's because brian's taking different paths to get to the finish line. him going through ally ways and going through different streets even though the race is somewhere else, makes this probably my favorite race in f&f BY FAR!
2:33 brian didn't want to take this path. But he was forced to, or else Brian will crush like a pizza. You should also know that this path he was forced to was worse
Oh how I miss those moments when Fast and Furious was about cars and not about crazy bald guys with superpowers. Fast and furious started dying after the 4th Rest in peace PW you will always be a legend
I know most of the comments give Dom crap for that last pit maneuver, but when you put it in the context of the story, it makes more sense. This wasn’t a race to Dom, this was his ticket in to find out what happened to his girlfriend, and Brian was basically the one standing in his way. It’s a dirty move but the fairness of a race wasn’t on his mind, just that he wanted to avenge his (supposedly) dead girlfriend. Script writing wise this was a way for us to acknowledge Brian as the true winner while still giving Dom the position he needed for the story to progress
If true winner means who won without breaking what would be the usual rules, yeah Brian wins. But I wouldn't rule out that Dom could have won normally. He used his boost too early. He wouldn't make that mistake. I think he only did that to secure the victory because he knew he was going to pit Brian
@@beefjerky2372 So he was like “Let me use NOS early to give him fake confidence, then take him down when he passes by”. Sounds like a plan for a sore loser.
I’m teen boy who lives in Tokyo and Tokyo Drift is one of my favorite movies but tbh the movie is so fake🤦♂️ there’s 0% guns or street racing in Jp lolz All ik is that Tokyo is a safe city
Dom knew Brian was finally gon get his first dub against him so he hadda PIT him 😂 even tho they weren’t cool during this race there was still that sibling rivalry
It also shows how he has matured over the years, from flashy to subtle. Paul Walker's photo of him sitting on the car's front right fender is in my opinion, the best photo of him I've ever seen. 👌👌👌 Black shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a Bayside Blue Skyline GT-R R34, I can totally see myself rocking this outfit with a blue Nissan (my ideal one would be a Silvia S15).
1:17 How did Brian catch up to Dom so quickly after going "TOO WIDE" (Pall Walker, Fast and Furious 2, first race) ??? Also, he complains when Dom shunts into him while he started it here.
Brian was the best racer in the series. When Dom actually tensed up when he was in the car with Brian in the first movie, it showed that even Dom knew that Brian was was out of his league with as fast as he was. Brian is the only one to make Dom legitimately sweat, as if Brian is the equivalent of the grim reaper and has to do so many dirty tactics to beat him or dodge the subject completely when Brian brings it up
Not only the best scene infact this is the best movie imo. no flashy snob cars no saving world shits no showoffs no fake actions just deep dark revenge movie and pure raw real racing
In fast and furious 5 there was the cop car drag race on the street. In Fast and Furious 6 there was the Dom vs Letty street race. In fast and furious 7 there was the Dom vs Brian street race to the hospital. In fast and furious 8 there was a street race towards the beginning of the movie.
@@nassarhill3521 No Fast and Furious 6 was when Brian and Dom raced to the hospital, Furious 7 was the race wars scene with Letty racing against the R8
@@nassarhill3521 But Fast Five’s race was full of jokes and laughing the whole time, and the ending wasn’t even a real finish since Dom let up at the end. It wasn’t a “satisfying” race, the only nice thing about it was the characters in the race. The beginning race between Dom and Brian in 6 was nice but it was full of sped-up shots, and the race in London had music that took you out of the moment and ridiculousness with Don’s antics. It had no weight to it. The race in 7 was too short in itself for a 2 and a half hour movie. 8 was honestly the worst race of the franchise, cars driving backwards, cars on fire, random dirt bike moments, all the slow-mo… terrible. F9 was even worse with the slow-mo, half the race was in slow motion. 10’s race was barely a race, it was just Mamoa laughing the whole time and explosions, no actual race.
Chandler S Bryant I believe that was only for the hill scene. The rest of the race was actually a gtt and for when the car was parked or barely moved for a scene it was an actual gtr.
@@quantum0151 No frrr I’ve seen this scene a million times and never noticed they did a callback at this but, with them finally being equal lengths once there was a quarter mile left. Just like the old movies 😎
This is probably one the most underrated race scenes in a movie. You can tell exactly what is going on as they don't use shaky cam or over editing/excessive cutting like a lot of other films do.
4:49 Even though I hate how many cars they destroy in these movies, that BMW crash was coolest looking car destruction ever. It's exaggerated as hell but what isn't in these days.
