Mashallah, Mufti I cannot believe that I made it and am actually fasting today, this beautiful day of Arafah, I was in so much pain about five hours before midnight and thought "Oh Allah please don't make me miss this day", Allah answered my prayer and although I am not performing Hajj I am fasting Aameen. it is also a special day for me because I can contemplate and remember our very beautiful sister both in heart, mind and soul, a lady who gave of herself effortlessly a woman who had grace and understanding of love, today I remember Lady Diana and I ask all those who loved her and have memories of seeing grace in action, that they pray Allah give her janatul firdose.Inshallah Aameen

SALAAM EVERYONE - IMPORTANT - Today is the 4th of Dhul Hijjah, and Eid ul Adha will be on Monday 1st September. Furthermore, the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are the best days of the year (for good deeds) and scholars have agreed that these days are even better than the days of Ramadan. According to (Hadith) it is highly recommended to fast, and even increase your other good deeds such as reading Tasbih, reading Nafl prayers and giving charity/Qurbani. “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah and the day of ‘Ashoora’ and three days of each month - the first Monday and two Thursdays.” Narrated by Imam Ahmad and Abu Dawood

It is on this day that Allah (swt) frees slaves from the fire more than any other day. It is also one of the greatest days to ask for forgiveness. For the people who stay in ’Arafat, Allah (swt) descends to the sky and says to the angels: ‘My slaves have come to me, looking rough, from every deep valley hoping for my mercy, so if their sins are equivalent to the amount of sand or the drops of rain or like the foam on the sea I will forgive them. So go forth my slaves! Having forgiveness for what and who you have interceded for’. (Tabarani)

Observing Saum (fast) on the day of 4rafah. 1988. Narrated Umm Al-Fadi bint Al- Uarith: "While the people were with me on the day of 'Arafah they differed as to whether the Prophet was observing Saum (fast) or not; some said that he was observing Saum (fast) while others said that he was not obse' ng Saum (fast). So, I sent to him a bowl full of milk while he was riding over his camel and he drank it." 1989. Narrated MaimUna From sahih bukhari vol 3 .. book of fasting...hadith no 1988

Salamwaliakum Mufti Menk, May Allah (SWT) rewards you for a clarification on the day of fasting. Only fast on the Day of Arafat and not 9 days prior of that.

It is very much a benefit for us to fast on 9th day Arafah, but what about other days

Allah SWT is not only very merciful but also stern punisher.

Grossly illogical: There can be only ONE 9th Day of 'Arafat and that's in 'Arafat itself NOT in any other place!!!
