ooohh I have a recommendation Confessions by Kanae Minato it's a short book, so fast paced with such good twists so if you haven't read it already, I highly recommend

I wouldn’t say I’m in a reading slump necessarily but I was/am struggling with a few books that were kinda slow and not super interesting so I ended up finishing the last two Bloodlines books in 3 days. Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy and especially Bloodlines series are some of my favorites because they’re so easy to understand and I never wanna put them down. I know there’s a lot of not so great opinions on certain aspects and characters but personally I love the characters and how it feels like Richelle actually made side characters important and interesting rather than just having them be there or forgetting about them altogether, two things which some authors tend to do. I would definitely recommend reading VA first since there’s a lot of context and references that I think made Bloodlines so much better than if you just read that, but I will say I prefer Bloodlines over VA because of Sydney and Adrian’s relationship, her entire journey as a person (which technically starts in VA), and Adrian Ivashkov is my absolute favorite character ever to exist, no other character could ever compare to him

Oh, Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, super fast paced, makes you angry but in a good way, normbreaking and just awesome all around!

I highly recommend the Inheritance Games and The Naturals, both series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Her writing style is addictive and gripping. The short chapters constantly keep you at the edge of your seat. Characters are enjoyable and the plots are exciting. Very good YA mystery/thrillers that have gotten me out of reading slumps multiple times. Definitely check them out!

I'm looking for some new stuff to read to I'll be checking out some of these! A couple of recommendations: Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey. This one is a mystery and a bit dark. It hooked me from the beginning. More Than This by Patrick Ness. YA but for older teens, so a little more mature and unputdownable. It's about 500 pages and I read it in 2 days!

Have you read The Girls I've been by Tess Shape? It's YA, has two time lines and I thought it was really easy to get into

I haven't read "A Good Girls Guide to Murder" yet but a very similar series that I absolutely adored, and I feel gets over shadowed by "A Good Girls Guide to Murder," is the "Truly, Devious" series by Maureen Johnson. It was so good and the mystery is very twisty and surprising, the book has a past and present point of view, the present character is a hyper intelligent high school student who's goal it is to become a detective and solve mysteries that no one else can solve. She goes to this school specifically to solve this supposedly unsolvable murder. There is a great group of friends and a background romance. Loved the dark academia themes also. I just love this series and I want more people to talk about it. 🖤🤎
