Fast Train from Marseille to Nice in France - a small taste of my experience 

My goodness. I was in Marseille in May of 2017 and took the high speed train from there to Cannes (to visit a friend) Brings back great memories. The self serve ticket kiosks were a huge pain, So after the first attempt and 90% success, I bought all my other tickets at the ticket office. Super easy and darned quick - although to be fair I had checked the schedule and noted on paper "Sortie Marseille XX:XX" and so forth. Little, obscure fact - in 20 minutes you can be in Aubagne, then walk about a mile to the Museum of the French Foreign Legion. Train ride along the coast was amazing.

Those ticket machines can be a nightmare for English speakers! The ticket machines for the local train service not the TGV. I stood behind a number of students from the USA (at the station in Nice) and watched them struggle with the machine. Some were better than others but I think we were in the line for a a good 20 minutes before we had our turn at the ticket machine.

It's a fast train but there's no fast tracks between marseille and nice !!!! It's a fast train with normal speed as any other trains.....
