Exactly. A lot of time to keep the speed of the song I'd as fast as you can headbang on tempo. So 300BPM only ever feels like 150BPM. But 190-200bpm sounds faster than some 300 bpm stuff
Most bands from this video are somewhat known and some are really well known. But there are lots of lesser-known german thrash bands from the 80s that are absolutely awesome.
@@ryanwhite5318 that's debatable. First of all, they were later than the big 4 by 2-3 years. And i can't say that they were as influential and had as many hit songs. There is the Big Teutonic 4 :) I would say there are adequately rated.
@@ryanwhite5318 Big 4 is big 4 for a reason. They are big 4 because they are the most popular thrash metal bands... That doesn't mean that German bands like Kreator or Sodom aren't that popular
I love rhythm guitar. I was never interested in playing solos (or maybe never able to ? :-). Still, I love rhythm, that's probably why thrash is my favourite genre. And your rhythm playing is so tight. Have you heard that the song Pleasure to Kill was featured in a Netflix series?
@@KarriHanninen It's called Dark. Check it out, couldn't really believe my ears when my friend showed me ahah (I don't have Netflix): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--P8_wY9CldQ.html. Mate let's hang out on Skype, I've been in lockdown for so long here in Italy, I want to talk and play guitar with somebody.
Dark is probably the best series on Netflix. I was so excited when pleasure to kill appeared on it! Totally unexpected 😂 series 3 should be out in a couple of months 👍
Nice selection. I would add: "Assassin - Bullets" insane drums and super fast. Extremely underrated band. "Darkness - Death squad" is awesome as well "Necronomicon - Magic forest" it's a great old school german thrash band. That's just what came to my mind right away. There quite a number of rare german thrash gems from the 80s kinda forgotten and underrated.
Great suggestions, especially for Necronomicon. Their release Escalations/Devil's tongue is an awesome and yet not popular. I wish to see here Protector.
While looking at fastest german thrash I would add two forgotten gems by two legendary bands: SODOM's "Tapping The Vein" and KREATOR's "Cause For Conflict". They are insanely fast in many areas.
I've been bashing my head against a song by Carcass called Unfit for Human Consumption. Great groovy riffs, pretty high tempo, solid picking by Bill Steer. Would love to see you play that song! Probably not a tough task for you with your thrash hands.
American Thrash is more technical, European Thrash in part are more brutal (there are also technical bands), South American bands same, have inspired the old school scenes Death Metal and Black metal a lot. Sodom - Kreator - Destruction - Tankard are the german big 4. I think Germany is the country that has had most Thrash bands in Europe.
great selection. And I love that you included Vendetta. But there is one band that you should add. Assassin. Especially their song "Bullets" is very fast.
I think it sounds more powerfull if it's played tight. I'd like the modern Kreator-stuff more than the old tunes, because they made on the past 4 or 5 albums some high-class steel that is high-energetic, fast, agressive, but also melodic, majestic and tasteful written.
Excellent job again! That Nuclear Winter thingy, I always keep wondering how Chris Witchhunter did all that, his drumming on Persecution Mania and Agent Orange was awesome. And you pickin' hand keep me wondering too.. that Pleasure To Kill just ripped!
Absolutely awesome picks on songs. I am a thrash metal fan and Kreator and Sodom are my all time favorites. I am American but German thrash is simply better than American thrash... always has been. Thanks for the upload and I think that Mille will be proud once he sees this.
Vendetta is one of the most underrated German bands. Go and live... Stay and die and Brain Damage are great albums just like almost anything that came out of Noise Records in the 80's
Hey man! Total kickass! Just one, practical question, hehe, for e.g. Kreator and 260 bpm and Tankard 240 bpm, is it triplets you're playing or it's just too fast and sounds like it?:D Hails from Bergen!
Thank you for your videos! Every release of your video is a "new" riff for me to learn. So....Maybe you can release another episode, where you list YOUR favorite riffs among all? :) Please, push the comment to top, so Kerri can see it. By the way, you are a very good guitar player :)
