I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great ru-vid.comUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.
For real I bet money he ain't never hand nailed shingles in his life and I mean everyday rolling out. Young boys think they can roll yeah you can but to a real roofer you don't impress me bro.
your average at best honestly and you may hit the line but you have nails all in the joints there buddy those are leaks all day long get good before you get fast
You just left the low nail? Just pull the shingle and fix it then. Btw in the time it took u to lay those shingles out I could have put half a bundle down at the least
Jae Doe you took the words out of my mouth, I was gonna make the same comment with the respect,I think laying down those shingles its time consuming. greetings.
I was thinking the same thing, laying them out like that is a waste of time, and when it is hot out they'll be stuck on the felt by the time you get to them.
There's only one real Super Roofer and this guy isn't it! I've been a roofer 33 years, yes I'm almost 60 and i still can out shingle most ppl. Ive owned my own company for decades and my advice if you want to last in the roofing bizz is slow down and do better work.
Aren't you a little too old to be bragging...grampa? We came here to see a "different" k2 smoking, crank doin', ebonic speaking whitish looking dude/dudette bragging, not YOU
Yup! Been going at it for 22 years now and I'd be bumping bundles today up two ladders onto an easy 4/12 except its freezing rain and a nice layer of ice on my sidewalk says it'll be a shitshow day so I'm off and somehow found this video and after watching it and reading comments yours is the one I'd say makes the most sense. Slow n steady always outperforms blasting away and making rookie mistakes even for a well seasoned roofer. Out of every 100 customers I might get one or two who want speed over quality. People are paying large sums for a job that deserves quality. Of course speed is important since we're looking to get onto the next job but rarely do you encounter a customer who's looking for a crazy speed that leaves nuggets ever other shingle and not concerned about quality. Over the years I've found customers want the simple things. A roof that doesn't leak and looks good and they want a good ground clean up after. Often that's what they are most concerned about. They see neighbors or friends who've had their roof redone and the ground clean up looks like crap. Nails in the driveway or dogs paw. Chunks of broken shingles left in the flower garden of black marks on siding are a few easily avoided issues if proper attention is given Slow n steady but not a snails pace with a good clean up after always beats coming back for simple things overlooked that caused a leak or shingles blown off.
@@cdnreplies3597 You will find the longer you're in business the more and more speed becomes less important. Since 95% of my clients are realtors, my business depends on leaving a great impression at the end of a job.
Just another random guy that thinks he knows what he's doing. Leaks everywhere with several nail heads exposed (one he saw and reacted to, then proceeded roofing). Zero pride in quality and are NOT craftsmen.
Ya I thought I saw that.. fast is not pro ..all these fast guys do is give the potential to void your warranty..if the inspectors see anything sloppy at all its bad
Sooooo good u low nailed without looking......lol.🤣🤣🤣🤣. I woulda had them shingles nailed down before you prepared and nailed down half ur shingles. Plus com'on bro with the no look low nail and you leave it on the roof.....reminds me of my boy seam on seam dave.... 😂😂😂
Also he needs to make sure his second placed nail es at least 4 inches from the next shingle ending layment because water gets in between the shingles jointment and your nail cant be less that 4 inches or it will start to leak
perfect...dinked around and exposed a nail than just left it. no that won't leak at all. but as long as you get paid by the square and make it your bosses problem to come back later to fix your fuck up , it don't matter to you right? you give roofers who actually take pride in quality a really bad name
Exactly! This guy's a joke! Try laying them out like that on a 90 plus degree day. Don't even get me started on his nail placement! Then he shoots one an inch low and keeps going? Mind over matter I guess? (It ain't mine, so it don't matter)
with all the respect, In my state, we called " shinglers" to the people that just know how to install shingles, and we called our self "roofers" to the ones that went to school and know from residential installations to commercial installation. To me sir , your are just another " shingler" . just an average installer keep practicing you might get better at installing shingles! Eric.
Your right Eric to be a true roofer you need to now how to do residential and commercial and now how to install every kind of roofing system out there you got a point there
You consider me a roofer if i didnt go to school but i know how to install torch, tpo, pvc, cedar shake, metal, shingles, presidential, the list goes on. But would you consider me a roofer?
That roof is going to leak where he left the low nail, nailhead was left exposed. You're supposed to remove the entire shingle and replace it when that happens.
Honestly one of the slowest vids ive seen i did my first 1 square challange when i was 2 months into roofing and was laying 1 square in under 10 mins which is the same as you and you claim to be fast
I love it when real Artisans and Craftsman who have been around the block tell these kids WHATS UP. I was that cocky kid on that vid, once. I got humbled. Craftsmanship over Speed. Period. End of story.
boss receives a call from the client: hey man theres a leak somewhere on my roof...boss says ok I'll go chek it out...after an hour trying to find the leak he sees that dumbass low nail...calls the (fast roofer) hey gringo!! whats up boss? so you're a beast fast roofer eh....lets see how fast you find yourself a new job!!
Good technique using the nailer guage tho my back would never last over time standing up installing shingles.. Coming from a full time roofer myself, when quality and warranties matter, its 6 nails for each shingle and I never use the old black felt paper underlayment..gaf feltbuster synthetic underlayment or similar..peace
bullshit don't need 6 nails. Wasting nails and cluttering up the shingle. 4 is plenty. Also nothing wrong with old skool felt. Get it on straight and you can use those lines. Don't need a gauge. I'm 70 been standing up and bending over 30+ years. My back is fine
EVERY damn time i see these fast roofers they got the 2nd nail right in the keyway or at least couple inches from it adn on a low pitch roof... oooppps leak,,,,
Fast but do that at a double nail because of high winds in a area that is needed to double nail I think Florida has a code for double nailing .the best way to nail is by hand with a roofing hatchet they pay more for the hand drive because the nails are flat and no blow outs or bent nails pertruding through the new shingles put down .I've tore more roofs off I know that the air gun isn't all that for shingling but it's a fast way to make money.
The time it will take to come back and do the repair will take about 2 hours. Get in the truck. Leave the shop. Drive to job. Unload. Fix shotty work.... 2 hours..... slow and steady wins the race. Speed comes with experience.
Fast nailer, yes. But fast quality roofer, no. One nail was left out in the open. All that set up time isn't necessary. Stack the columns and there's less lateral movement. And sliding the gun across the shingles makes me wonder how many of those nails are not set deep enough.
Should be 4 nails then a 4-6 inch gap then put last nail so your next shingle doesn’t line up with a nail and water run down the seam and leak through the nail. That’s what I’ve been told. Sound right?
Me, in my prime, 8 sqs per hour hand nailing, wore the heads off of three estwing hammers, this guy spends more time "setting up" than it would take me to hand nail the bundle into position.
Ikr I was hand driving a pack in 2mins and it took him 1min 22 seconds to to lay his shingles out! I Always used a plum Hatchet and we would put a new waffle head on it about every two weeks! I would've roofed over his ass !! Would have been a big hump on the roof !!
Speed means nothing if you're nailing in the waterway almost every time you lay one(your nails should be at the VERY least, four inches from the seam) and flat to the roof
Are you 5-nailing every shingle? Your second nail will be too close to the butt joint of the shingle above it and leak. Either 4 nail or 6 nail the shingles.
For those that complain about the bundle move, that's why they have people like me on the roof. To move shit where you like it. I am surprised I can even type right with as swollen as my hands are some days. Fastest stack splitter, thats the shit I really want to see. Have a man restack a 3,000 sqft houses lumber load, solo, on pull up layout and tell me that man should not make as much as a the dude setting nails.
The difference from me as a forman and you as a grunt is 40 grand a yr just to put the shingles loose on the roof for me to install doesn't make you worth as much schmashed
Not knocking his style. But if the need was ever needed to use the warranty. The home owner wouldn't get it. What happened to 5⁵/8? That was more like 7 and ⁷/8
Haters gonna hate, definitely not the fastest, but props for putting the nails on the line and keeping shingles on the line, unlike the haters chirping who slap down shingles crooked as fuck with high and low nails everywhere lol
