Wet blending is one of the major blending methods in miniature painting. If you want to paint cloaks or skin, wet blending is perfect solution! Of course you can go ahead and use it on space marine armor, but natural surfaces are the best for wet blending.
Note, that I am painting this sister of battle and I am wet blending small reflections on her armor. If you have brush that is good enough, you will manage to wet blend even small surfaces on all miniatures.
Wet blending is one of the most time efficient miniature painting methods out there and I can not recommend it enough for all natural surfaces, like capes, cloaks, skintones etc. It is one of the more advanced miniature painting methods, but once you master wet blending, it is definitely worth it, as it will save you so much time!
If you have any question on how to wet blend on the miniatures, leave a comment below and I will be happy to assist you.

I like a lot your 5min videos: very informative and efficient format. I recently tried wet blending and typically use it on small surfaces with various tones of the same color, to simulate reflection as you show on the model: much more efficient than glazing in that case and on a small surface the effect is still satisfactory hence the best compromise en terms of result/time spent

Very nice job on those minis! :) I'd say that wet blending is not hard, but *tricky*, there's a hang to it. When it clicks in your head it's actually very damn easy and sometimes becomes almost automatic, but before that it feels just weird, like "wait, you're rubbing these paints together? like, in the mini? what?". Videos like this that show the process simply and quickly are great!
@Zumikito
@Zumikito 3 года назад
Thank you! Oh yea, that is true, it is actually simple and easy technique with specific nuances that are difficult to grasp at first, especially when you find that paints interact with each other differently. For example it was easier for me to blend the skin here rather than the green suit

top notch work, 5 minutes is definitely the right amount of time here. I think its worth mentioning that if you are worried about the under coat showing through (at least in my experience) a darker paint will cover over lighter paint better than the reverse. so if you lay down a light undercoat, you may want to put the light color further into the dark area than you would normally expect to. really excellent work!! instant subscription from me!

There is a video called Blending explained in under 5 minutes. I mentione there wet blending, stippling and glazing as well! So you can check that one out if you want, it's basically for all three, but in a limited way. However, there is definitely coming one for glazing in the next month!

Hey man so I'm trying to troubleshoot my problem with the viscosity of my paint. I use the pro acryl line which seems to already be a thin paint. I figured adding retarded medium would help with the transition between colors but it seems my paints are either too thin (coming out glaze like) or when I try to make it thicker I'm just pushing paint around ruining the previous layer and removing pigmentation. I can't find a perfect medium where it comes out smooth and stays pigment rich. Where's the problem? Thanks so much though your videos have always been great and I appreciate the time you put into this.

YOU ARE FRIGGING AMAZING, and I am VERY HAPPY to purchase paints & products I would buy anyway on Amazon, or products you use & suggest. HOWEVER: Do you have a Patrion, or some other way we can support your work and get advice? I'd support that. Your work is awesome, and I'd like to support more directly, especially if I got feedback on my own projects.❤💥❤💥❤
