Very informative video! Just wanted to ask a question before I do the same. The important parts to transfer, so that I won’t get the apple genuine error notifications, is the battery, front and rear camera, logic board, and OLED screen with speaker module. Everything else that’s included in the replacement housing such as the Taptic, charging port, some other bits and pieces at the top of the phone I won’t have to transplant over from my original phone?

@@repaironwheels thanks for the video man. so I only have to buy this back-kit you used, transfer all the parts that aren´t included in this kit and i should be fine? So I dont have to do something in settings or so? Like I just switch this back cover and the phone ist imidiatly ready to go?

@paul8639 correct. If you are in the US I have a few genuine housings for sale. And it’s just a matter of transferring the board, battery, front and rear camera, and screen. No programming

What screw drivers are those? They look lightweight. Personally I prefer to swap the whole housing completely vs repairing just the back glass. I think back glass replacements don’t look good.

I use Wiha or Tuul drivers (specifically I iFixit Y000 for the tri wing) There are pros and cons to housing vs back glass Personally I prefer housing. they are a bit more time consuming and expensive compared to a $5-10 back glass panel but I think the end result is not only visually appealing but there’s less that can go wrong (logic hoard damage)

do the colors and feel match oem to a degree that you can't tell a difference? where do you get these supplies? would be thankful if you allowed me to mail you my device and hire you for the job! im in orange county so pretty close!

The short answer is yes they are pretty much 1 to 1 as far as color and weight in the hand/build quality

I get mine from mobilesentrix but they only sell to you if you have a resale certificate. I have oem housings available if you want one

my back is obliterated however the phone works my screen is dead I've bought one can I do the full repair without changing the housing can I change the screen safely or will the phone fall apart as the housing is physically loose i don't have a wireless coil but the backs attached i guess

I do screen repairs all the time on devices that have smashed back glass. If you are worried, tape it up

iPhoneso you are saying I don't need to replace the housing as long as I'm careful and put it back in a solid cased i should be fine thanks

It all depends on how bad your housing is. If the casing is split or bent or bowed I’d replace it. If it’s just cracked you should be fine, I’ve done tons that were cracked. The glue that holds the glass on is pretty strong

repairedwell in the top right corner where the antennae band that is on the edge it is sorta loose like I can wiggle it but it's fine in a case

Usually I’d suggest replacing at that point But I’ve seen plenty of cases where they customer put it in a case and called it a day
