It’s not as intimidating as you might think. Just take it slow. Used a magnetic mat. Having a decent memory helps but you can take photos and lean on them until you get better

Where do you get these back housing from with everything pre installed?

Try mobilesentrix first Also ebay has a few sellers but most are aftermarket from the ground up. I’d stick with used OEM as you know everything will work

This video specifically I did on site out of the back of my car so I have to take some liberties. if I had to wait until I was back in my office for perfect lighting the video would probably never have been made

That being said I’ll look into a lighting setup for situations like these. As long as it’s simple to set up/take down and not cumbersome to use (working out of the back of my car) I’d be happy to use it

I have an iPhone XR that the back plate is cracked and I was looking to replace it. I can get the parts. I don't know if i should replaced just the back plate or is it possible to just replace the entire housing to avoid the heat and scraping?

If you don’t have that much experience i would go for a housing replacement. Get one with small parts pre installed. Way easier and less likely to get damaged along the way

@san diego iphone repair I've done three LG Stylo 4, and it was pretty easy... I had to replace everything, including the buttons.

The glue that holds on the back glass is incredibly strong. You either need a laser or a very powerful heat gun. Even if you do they still aren’t easy repairs. Housing replacement with or without small parts is just the better way to go IMO
